Tekken - The ORG - October 17th

Hi everyone! I'm going to be hosting for TEKKEN, starting next month! This is going to be an ANONYMOUS ORG (or LSG) and is planned to last roughly 4 weeks, though it may take a little longer if we get a cast size above the 20 people I planned this around having. It is going to be a game on Proboards, the same as how most games here are hosted, and the game will be entirely non-live.

I'll have a full ad post in the next post, but I just wanted to make this first post to provide the signup form for this game. If you have any interest in playing, just fill out the form or send me a message on discord at theghostoffirestorm and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have! I should also mention first that this game is on Australian time, you do NOT need to be here live for any events or vote reveals (and I fully expect most to sleep through it tbh), but I will be revealing who is eliminated or voted out at 10pm AEDT each round.

You don't need to know the characters to play, but people in this series do tend to be playing up a shtick so it wouldn't hurt! If you don't know the theme, just let me know and I can assign you someone. By this I don't mean players will be going full roleplay or anything, more just like... whoever signs up as Lili will very likely play up being a rich girl for the fun of it, or the person playing Kazuya will probably play up being evil. This isn't required in the slightest, play however you feel comfortable, but it makes it a little more fun and immersive!

We're back baby! Danganronpa was iconic and I am already itching to host again, and what better time than now? And I decided to go with a theme I've loved since I was a kid and have always wanted to host, TEKKEN!

Tekken 3 was the game I remember playing the most as a kid, and even though I had no idea how to play at the time I lived for it. I still have memories of playing Dark Resurrection on my PSP at school, or going through the Tekken Force mode in Tekken 4 with my girl Xiaoyu (but not Tekken 3, I was a little too young to ever clear Tekken Force on that... )





This game will use the

Arena

format! I've used this format more than any other, and it is my fave format ever made. If you're unfamiliar with this format, think of it like Survivor except the vote is first and the challenge is second.

So how this format goes is every round, everyone will cast one vote against one player! The player with the most votes after this will be sent into the arena! In the event of a tie, anyone involved in the tie gets sent in together! There will be some other details for it, but I'll wait until the game starts to go into detail with all of that.

Once the players have been sent into the arena, they will all participate in a duel! Those who win the duel will choose what tribe to join (and there will be some measures in place to ensure the tribe numbers are somewhat even), while those who lose the duel will be eliminated from the game!



I'm looking for a cast of

24 players!

I can go above or below this number without any real issues, I'm aiming for a smaller game this time but if it's another bigger game then it's a bigger game and we'll roll with it.

Any playable character from the Tekken series is available to be chosen (so long as they have usable source pics), excluding the following people: Lee, Alisa, Xiaoyu, Noctis, Clive. The first three have already been played in this series (along with Nina but she was a week 1 boot so she'll get her time to shine), while the latter two I am declining because I want to host an org about the FF series one day.

Every character is available, I am not going to enforce any kind of gender balance or anything like that. I WOULD like to get some focal characters like the Mishimas and some mainstays in there, but feel free to just pick who you want to play as. Or just tell me what kind of character you'd like to play if you don't care who you get and I'll make it work.

This is after all the currently advertised games will start, so hopefully won't have too much overlap? How long it takes depends entirely on the cast size, so if it's a cast of about 24 I could see it ending in 4-5 weeks? And more or less if we get more, but I would aim for 5 weeks max regardless.

This game will be run on AEDT, which is AUSTRALIAN time. However, it will be entirely non-live, so anyone not in Australia can just sleep through the events if you so choose. The duels will also be non-live, and will aim to be a wide net of challenges to choose from.

A quick update to how casting is going, and it's going well! I do actually have the minimum cast size I'd need to run this game since a bunch of people signed up at once here, but I will extend the cast size to whatever amount I get!

Currently, these are the taken reps:

Anna, Bob, Bryan, Christie, Dragunov, Eddy, Heihachi, Hwoarang, Jin, Jun, Julia, Kazuya, King, Lars, Lili, Nina, Reina, Yoshimitsu, Zafina.

Additionally, the host reps are going to be Xiaoyu, Alisa, Lee, Shaheen and Kunimitsu, so none of them can be played either (and also not Clive or Noctis because I don't like repeat reps and I plan on using them for a Final Fantasy game in the future, sorry!)

And we're starting in a little over 2 weeks from now! I'm aiming to try and fill out the cast, so if you still want to play these are the remaining reps to be filled!




I'm hoping to get them all cast to lock in the cast size for this, but if we can't fill all six then I'd like to try and get Kuma, Lei and Lidia in the cast. If you aren't sure on how ORGs/LSGs work, feel free to hit me up and I can do my best to walk you through it too!

And we're starting this in less than 2 weeks! I'm going to be closing signups this Friday (October 10th), so if you still want to play there's a little time left, but not much. The above reps are still available excluding Lei, so hopefully we can get the cast fully filled up and ready for action! This has staarted, and in fact is finishing later tonight! I didn't get a chance to ever post recaps for each round here because I was a little too lazy to convert the :cry and :<3 emotes into the corresponding gifs here, but it was a great game full of twists and turns, and now it is about to finish!



And we have our final three! Anna, Lidia and Lili are currently taking part in the FTC, and in a few hours one of them will be the Queen of Iron Fist!  They've all had very different journeys to get to this point, with Anna having managed to avoid the arena the entire game despite multiple attempts to send her in during this merge, Lidia going from being blindsided premerge to getting in this merge and never being targeted during it besides the round she used her idol, and Lili being a beloved social force who then took out her opponents at the end to force her way into this FTC.

After a 4-4-2 vote, Anna Williams (Ricey) and Lili de Rochefort (GingaNinjaJack) have become the Queens of Iron Fist!

There was a fuckup with one of the votes that ended in this, where the person who was voting would have caused one to win, but the tiebreak was for the other, so when the option of co-winners was presented it was taken!
