I have recently been thinking about changing timers

I would like to hold a poll for players to vote on which one they would prefer to join holding all other variables constant

A) 36/24 3prod = replacement
B) 36/36 3prod = replacement
C) 36/24 3prod (-1prod per night)
D) 48/24 3prod
E) anything else / you just want to see the results

also if it depends (number of players? type of game?) please tell me below!

48 hour prod timers really suck for game health IMO. You can go half a day phase without some people posting.
Giving 36 hours to respond to prod is also like, way too much.

You could do slightly longer prod timers if your day deadlines are like 2 weeks instead of one week, but I reckon you'll have the thread just dead at some points and that's not too good.

I prefer 48/24 as it is more lenient and hopefully makes for a more relaxed game

36/24 but with a modified three prod rule (if you are prodded for more times than the cycle number you are force replaced) might be useful if you want a strict prod timer but not a strict three prod rule

how I'd interpret prod timers:

72 hours (3 days) - correspondence game prod timer, consider a 36 hour replacement time for this long of a prod timer
60 hours (2 days 12 hours) - check the game at least every other day, unusually lenient but not a correspondence game prod timer
48 hours (2 days) - check the game once every one or two days, a chill prod timer for a chill game
44 hours (1 day 20 hours) - nobody uses this prod timer
40 hours (1 day 16 hours) - a lenient check the game at least once a day prod timer with a lot of room for error, should be treated the same as 36 hours on the player side
36 hours (1 day 12 hours) - check the game at least once a day, a more heated prod timer that still allows for a daily check-in
32 hours (1 day 8 hours) - check the game at least once a day at the same time each day, the strictest reasonable prod timer for a non-Blitz game, weaker three prod rules are recommended
28 hours (1 day 4 hours) - a strict check the game at least once a day at the same time each day but ideally check the game at least twice a day, unreasonably short for a Normal deadline game
24 hours (1 day) - check the game at least
twice
a day, for Blitz games only
20 hours (20 hours) - No. Just no.
16 hours (16 hours) - You cannot be serious...

24 hours is the standard replacement after prod timer, don't see a good reason to change this unless you're running a Blitz game or you have a very long prod timer

Like 9 am, 9pm makes you pass 16 hour prods easily.

I run 48/24 because that’s what I prefer as a player. I do 4 prods and a 4-day replacement rule (replace after 4 consecutive days of nothing game-relevant even if V/LA).
