Meh I don't think this set up is too imbalanced, the town effectively has two lynches per kill cycle. The fact that they (some at least) played like immature children doesn't mean it's a bad set up.

Fuzzy lightning was scum and never posted once during the game. There should be award for getting away with something like that. heh heh

I guess its balanced equally but then other heavy kill games like Bad Idea Mafia, Worse Idea Mafia, and
slightly
Dynamite Mafia were all balanced in favor of the town because of pre-cieved elements of choas so I'm not sure what to think. Either way its a nice change of pace since this one actually still allows you to lynch. Very good concept MoS

To be fair, I think both Bad Idea mafias were won by scum (I was Godfather in the second one ), so I think there is a track record for town failing in these kinds of setups.

This game was a farce. The town was filled with too many dimwits who didn't have the maturity/aptitude to play this game.

Fair point Claus.

But, generally, they don't throw the game away for the town before the majority even have a chance to cast their vote.

oh, ouch! I guess it was unintentional then. Computer failure sucks but at least it didn't cause him to loose. Lurking generally aids scum in the Heavy day kill games.

They don't have exactly two lynches, as one of those two will at least be a mislynch.

There's obviously some effect which causes town results in these games to be worse than the EVs would indicate. I propose we name this effect "The Fritzler factor".

Seconded.

In fact, in BIM, it's gotten to the stage when often, people don't even talk until all the Fritz-minded players have gotten their compulsive vigging out of the way.

The Fritzler effect hurts more, the greater the cost of misvigging. Here, since it costs two town lives, it was THE most detrimental possible. (As ever with the complete disaster games, the town also gets unlucky. Odds are on three random suicides hitting a scum, I think).

There is like an 86% chance that the town will hit a scum in the first three days, and that's only after assuming that there is always a suicide by a protown person, that the town doesn't correctly pressure a scum or anything like that.

I know I wasn't involved in this game, but I just want to say how the last 2 suicide-kills had me rolling. Especially the one that was made as SOON as the day started.

Nope (that's three more examples, counting the Marathon Day microgame which was a bit of a cockup). Town also lost both regular Mutually Assured Destruction games, and nuclear winter claimed the Marathon Day version.

I think there's something to the Fritzler effect, people get drunk on the power of their own potency and start to make stupid, snap decisions.

And the Fritzler effect makes lurking absolutely optimal for scum. This is the second time i've seen an 'everyone vigs' game won by a scum who never posted. MoS, of course, remembers the first one.

The crucial difference between fritzler and most other people is that fritzler has a p good record as a day vig.

You know, MAD I, when you nuked me for suggesting that anyone who nuked unprovoked ought to be immediately counternuked as a deterrent.

And with this game as evidence, I still find myself justified in thinking that your plan only helps scum. Even with a guarantee that they will die for suiciding someone, people STILL made unprovoked kills in this game, which led to a scum win. Counternuking = fail.

And I still think that your unprovoked nuke helped scum. I just wished i'd counternuked you... stupid assuming Pooky's missile was genuine...
