I dont really think role fishing applys to millers, in fact I'd be pretty happy if your role was good enough to put a target on you head despite the fact that you are a claimed miller. Short of that though I don't think you are going to die at night so I'd like the info to help me figure out your alignment.

Assuming that the miller claim is true (and I'm not saying that we should make this assumption), Budja is pretty much guaranteed to survive to the endgame if we don't lynch him because the mafia certainly won't touch him. Asking him whether he has any additional powers has the potential to remove this "immunity" in a flash as well as to deprive the town of a powerrole.

That's not worded as nicely as I would have liked but I'm tired.

I don't really like chamber's suggestion. Nobody would be stupid enough to not follow through on a vote they've promised to place but it would still remove a lot of the impact that a vote normally carries by placing that degree of distance between the sentiment and the action itself.

Artem's Post 58 is a good one, and is part of the reason why I think people should be a lot more hesitant to nameclaim. Even if your own character is not someone that is likely to have any useful powers, the nightkill target pool is shrunk.

OK, so I've just read through Konowa's posts again.

• I see I forgot to answer his question about why I described his statement about "too scummy to be scum" as being dumb in Post 125, but it appears as though he already figured it out (it's a terrible fallacy). He is now passing it off as a gut feeling but I don't know whether I'm willing to let that fly; gut feelings are copouts more often than not and I don't like that people are usually so willing to take them at face value. Words are easy to type, whether they are true or not.
  
• I like how he sneaks in a little oh-don't-worry-I'm-not-letting-chamber-off!!!! in Post 234. Unfortunately his "not letting off" efforts amount to nought but a neutral read, which IMO is more likely to be indicative of a scum pairing than even a "town read" if either of them die and flip as such.

Hm. I am not sure that he is scummier than chamber, but he is a lot better than anything else going (the only other person I have even a vague interest in is don_johnson).

how is asking for a roleclaim from a potential lynch with FIVE VOTES on him considered rolefishing? if the claim is not going to be discussed and play any part in the decision making process, then why do we have players claim anyway?

Two reasons. Firstly, even though he had five votes I don't think anybody was ready for the day to end right then and there; there was no pressing need for a claim. Secondly, you asked for a claim so you could "make up your mind" (or something to that effect). That smells strongly to me of scum angling for as valuable a target as possible because a claim should only challenge a mind already made up rather than do the actual making up on its own.

Oh, and your bleatings about your "thought" that it had been "agreed" that Konowa and nobody else would be today's lynch are completely ridiculous. If such an agreement had been made I would have been all over whoever had made it like a rash because such things promote tunnelling on a gamewide scale.

White noise is pretty self-explanatory, but I'll bite. In this context "white noise" refers to posts that don't really serve any purpose; they don't help to catch scum, they don't offer any meaningful points of view on a situation... they're just empty words whose usefulness is entirely superficial.

I don't see the point of this line of questioning if this is where you were going. If I thought something was wrong with my no case style I wouldn't use it. Well, it's pretty clear now that scum have fakeclaims - but that they were not given roles. I can't see any other explanation for Konowa being confident enough to nameclaim Angel yet refuse to back it up with an actual role. (lmao at don btw)

I've given the last few pages a quick once-over and quite a few people have acted in a manner towards Konowa that could be indicative of being his buddies. I want to read further back before I come to any definite result, but for now
