Voting, Lynching, and Death

• • Votes should be cast using the following format –

    . Unvoting is not required, but it is helpful and will make me happy. You wanna make me happy, right?
    
  • Lynching will require a majority of votes. If a majority is not reached at deadline, the player with the most votes at the end of the Day will be lynched. In the event of a tie, the player who reached the number first will be the one who is lynched. You may
    Vote: No Lynch
    if you decide that you do not want to lynch during the Day. Once the number of votes reaches the number required for a lynch to occur, that decision is final. Any subsequent unvotes will not be counted. You (everyone except the person who has been lynched) may feel free to converse during this period (called Twilight) until the thread is locked.
    
  • Important: If you get killed or are lynched, you are dead. You may not post anything afterwards. Not even a “Bah!” post. Srsly. Save it for post-game discussion.

Activity

• • I expect everyone to post regularly. If I see that a player has not posted for longer than a 24 hour time period and the player has not notified me about this, I will prod said player. If the person fails to pick up his her/prod within 24 hours of the prod, that player will be replaced. If you are prodded more than three times, you will be replaced (negotiable). If you are prodded, you must respond to the prod in-thread.
    
  • Treat this game as a commitment and be courteous to your fellow players. I find that this is the best way for everyone to enjoy the game. Thanks. =)
    
  • Each Day will automatically have a set deadline of 96 hours (4 days). Each Night will automatically have a set deadline of 48 hours (2 days). Since this is a "Swift Game", I will not be open to extending these limits for any reason. Use them wisely.

First, congrats to the scum!

Overall, I'm very pleased with how this game played out -- 3 player end-game scenarios are a dream come true for pretty much all mods. I had a really good time reading this one too; the fast pace and the level of activity was very impressive and made for a nice, fun read instead of a dull, boring game. I guess the only thing I was kinda down about was the fact that the PRs ended up dying so early on -- even the Supersaint didn't really get to use his ability here. I thought it would've been cool to see all of those roles interact with one another.

I'd really appreciate if you guys left comments for me and for each other.

I think the one thing I would change would be to make sure the weekend deadlines are always 24 hours. I think it was back on Day 3 that the Day ran across a weekend, and I still had the deadline in a regular 96 hour block -- I ended up self-correcting that for the Day 5 LyLo situation.

Yeah, I included the PRs that I did largely because I felt the Town was at a disadvantage due to the short deadlines. On paper, the game definitely looked balanced toward the town, but I think the deadlines counteracted that pretty nicely.

Oh, and I made the Rolecop a Daytime ability so that it couldn't get blocked by the Roleblocker. I thought that would help the balance out a bit too.

I like the theory discussion.

My personal opinion on logic, gut, or whatever else you want to call it is as follows: I think the real key to becoming a good town player is to use the right combination of BOTH logic and gut and to learn when you should trust one or the other. The fact of the matter is townies can sometimes seem illogical but if you could figure out whether or not the logic being used by what you consider to be an 'illogical townie' is actually genuine, then you might be able to figure out that they're town, and you could then begin focusing your scum-hunting energy elsewhere. Some people can probably get by using ONLY one or the other, but I think most people are probably using some combination of both all the time without even realizing it.

Incog, I would definitely play a game like this again. Be sure to let me know if you ever run it again, I want a pre-in.

I don't really have any plans to run another one anytime soon because my classes are kicking into high gear, but I'm aiming to run another quick one at the start of summer once my semester draws to a close. If you're still around and I still actually do it, I'll send a PM to you and anyone else who might be interested to see if you would still like a pre-/in.
