BV ratchets up the scum-list, I think scum are often the first to accuse of role-fishing, because it's such an easy accusation to make and town are so firmly against it that the mud invariably sticks.

The waffling all over the place on Richard is pretty bad, but what's the motivation/mistake behind it? Is it scum waffling on a townie? Is it scum trying to fence-sit scum? I don't see the motivation for scum to do this.

Richard has gone to ground since I've voted him and refused to accept his defence, preferring to leave it to Anon to do his arguing for him. He's done literally no scumhunting this game, every post has been a whiny defence. There is literally nothing town about him, and certainly no reason for me to remove my vote.

BV gets onto my 'would lynch' list, but continued voting of Richard is clearly needed.

Sure. I know some game you'll remember called Pick your Poison 4 where you were pushing Yosarian's case in a way that made me think you were town. Unfortunately for me and almost for the game, you were scum and I got lynched for it. But thats where I learnt that pushing cases is very easy to fake and not the 100% towntell you are trying to paint.

Now that we are talking about that game, you commented that you remembered my play from the other game. Now that Im fully caught up, how different/similar am I playing to that game?

I only saw that one thing, which was how I breadcrumbed vig in a different game (offsite). That's why I was worried when someone flat called him it.

Jahudo, I'm pretty sure he just made up the reaction fishing thing afterwards.

So you used something similar. What's the difference between everyone seeing "If I was a vig", and someone saying "hey look at that thing he said".

Checking in quickly this morning.

Since many seem to be curious about my gambit, the whole premise behind the reaction testing part of my being a jerk was seeing exactly how people handled it. And yes, it did give me a couple of reads.

Faraday in Post 128 comes off as scum pushing for a mislynch, as the only reason he stated for voting me was the fact that I apparantly wanted to be lynched. Everyone asking to be lynched should be lynched is horrible logic too.

farside22 in Post 130 would normally give me a scum read, though I suspect it's within the realms of probability for farside to post posts like these.

Finally, Seraphim in Post 132 gives me a strong pro-town read, since scum would be more likely to use the fact that I wanted to be lynched as an excuse for a quickwagon. The fact that Seraphim takes the time to question my view tells me that he's town.

So yeah, that's mostly what I gained from my gambit.

Those are your results? For someone who was clearly calculated to attempt a tantrum-gambit, you really didn't do anything with it. What about CKD in 135? Porochaz's 138? What about in 143 where you say you're "just being a jerk"? Was that part of the gambit? If it was, then why did you add in the AtE at the end of 146?

I think you have some valid points. I've been flipflopping on my read of Richard because I couldn't really get a handle on him. He's played a bit like I did in my first Newbie game, but he's also acting scummy. His "results" really affirmed my thoughts though.

I don't like how bv buckles under pressure to vote for Richard when not voting for him prior. Lots of flip, flopping from bv. Some of his post are sound but in comparision to him changing his mind and his vote on richard it's more feeling off on bv310.

Im talking about scum faking aggressiveness towards a player to get reactions/answers. I never talked about the RVS.

Pick your Poison4 is a good example of scum faking aggressiveness towards a player to get an answer. Its not that different from what you are doing with Richard but also not that different from what you were doing with magnus in seemingly normal.

My point is that agresiveness is not a powerful towntell as you are trying to paint.
