Rules:

1) Mod is God.
-God is all powerful.
-If you wish to argue/point something out, do so by PM (with the exception of faulty votecounts).
-Posting during "Twilight" is allowed, but normal posting rules still apply.

2) Voting.
-Votes must be bolded, followed by the player name. For example, Vote: Amished
-Unvotes must be bolded, and are needed to vote someone else. Player names are not required. For example, unvote
-Votecounts will be edited on to the first post of each page. If it's not there yet, that means I haven't gotten online to do it yet.
-Votecounts will be current through the previous page. If there were two votes on me on page one, they would show up on page two. Unvotes even in the first post of a new page will *NOT* show up in the new votecount, but will be recorded for the next page.
-Lynches will occur when half + one of the total remaining players has been accumulated on one player. Unvotes will not prevent a lynch after the required number of votes has been reached.
-Hammering, then unvoting in the same post will have your vote counted immediately, with the unvote not taken into effect.

3) Deadlines.
-Day deadlines are 3 weeks for the first game day, 2 weeks for the remainder of the game.
-Night deadlines are always three days.
-Deadlines are always at 11:00 GMT (That's 6:00 EST, or 3:00 PST (all times PM))
-Deadlines dates are for my own timezone (CST) - so the 6:00 GMT is really the day after what I have posted.
-Deadlines are flexible by up to one day, depending when I can get on. The deadline does not officially occur until I post the end of they day lynch (or no-lynch) scene.
-When a deadline is reached with no majority of votes, a no-lynch occurs.
-Extensions can be requested, and will be given based on the situation.

4) Prods, Replacements, and Inactivity.
-Throughout the game, not posting for three days gets a prod, unless the player makes note of the inactivity ahead of time (bolded).
-If after 48 hours a prod is not picked up, you will be replaced, unless no replacements are available.
-You get three prods (and prod picked up) throughout the game before you're replaced.
-Replacement order is flexible. Unless requested otherwise, inactive players will be replaced in order of who made it to the replacement list first.

5) Outside the Game Topic.
-No discussing outside the game topic, unless I specifically tell you to.
-No discussing ongoing games. You can still discuss games that have ended.

6) Sportsmanship.
-You signed up to play. Play to win, don't ruin the game for others.
-Games are for fun. Have fun, don't be a jerk please.
-Speak English please.
-Don't try to outguess the mod - you'll always guess wrong.
-You know the rules. If I forgot anything, please say something. Intentionally using the lack of a rule I may have forgotten to your advantage (aka - a loophole) is an auto-modkill. Again, play fair.

7) Misc.
-No special text, other than bold or italicized text, is allowed. This means no colors, size changes, or anything of the sort.
-Blue is my color. Using this one is worse than using any other color.
-If you have the ability to edit posts, please DON'T.
-After you die, you may only have 1 "Bah" post that contains no game relevant information.

8) Punishment
-Warnings for minor infractions, Modkills for major infractions.
-Two warnings is a modkill.
-Warnings/modkills are non-debatable.
-Warnings/modkills are given based on the situation.

Make note of the Order of Operations for night actions:

1. Roleblocks
2. Kills
3. Other
4. Investigations

Also, the town win condition, which is generic: Town wins when all threats to the town are gone.

(Rules massively stolen and editted from Jebus)

{Special Rules}

This is an open nightless game. Because of that, the deadlines you don't really have to worry about.

The Role PM's are as follows:
King wrote: You are the King!

You're the ruler of this great land, but you have some dissidents that want to end your life for the betterment of the lower class (and who really cares about them, you have the Divine Right to be King!) You have seven guards, but you're not that trustworthy so you don't know who they are in case you ever got captured. There's also talk of an Assassin out there, so try not to die and keep rolling in your riches!

Please confirm via PM
Guard wrote:Hrmph. You're a guard. You're the lowly peons sent to sacrifice yourself for the greater good. Specifically, you better make sure the King lives. If he dies, your meal ticket is out, and failing in your only job in life won't look good on your resume.

Do whatever it takes to not let him die and lynch any Assassins out there (helpful hint: there's 1 Assassin, the lower class could only find one sucker to try to off the person you're sworn to protect)

Also, your king is
Both the King and the Guards share the win condition of "You win if only Kings and Guards remain (i.e. the Assassin is lynched)"
Assassin wrote:You are the Assassin.

You have one goal, to kill the King (the filthy Monarch!). Obviously you'll get plenty of glory and riches and ... other things if you complete your goal.

You have one kill to be used at any time during the game. If you fail to kill the King, you lose. If you put your Assassin sword through his heart, however, you pretty much rule and win.

Be wary, though; there are seven Guards sworn to protect the King from the likes of you, so try not to get caught.
The Assassin has the win condition of "If you kill the King at any time, you automatically win"

The Assassin's kill can occur after their lynching.

I don't agree to that.

I'm here to have fun, and hopefully win, not to win, and hopefully have fun. If I wanted to play "no discussion, just vote", I'd be playing more EpicMafia.

I have faith that the guard unit can win the good ol' fashioned way.

Now, who here's with me?

I don't see it as anti-town in this setup.

I see it as pro-wanting-to-play-the-game-and-not-just-rushing-through-the-game-to-get-the-win-because-the-win-is-ultimately-all-that-matters-not-the-experience-of-the-game-itself.

Sure, I could just vote myself, but then why did any of us bother to sign up in the first place? Seriously, ask yourself that before you make this decision.

Yup, what Sera and RC said.
You are aware that by arguing against your own lynch you are being anti-town right?
Huh? What kind of bullshit is this? If he's town, then he has a pretty damn good reason to argue against his own lynch, as he knows, nothing good will come from it.

To be fair, his logic isn't completely bullshit...read this:

The second part discusses the breaking strategy that Scorpion is trying to implement.

Ok, fair enough. The wiki scenario looks more more like an 'okay, I was for quicklynches for the first few days, but now as you selected me, I'm against it' argument, rather than just arguing against the method in the first place (and being the first one selected comes as a bonus), like here with RC.

Not to mention:
wiki wrote:Whilst the assassin(s) can still win with this play, it becomes much more a random coin flip than a calculated decision.
I signed here to play with a bunch people I played with before and had fun (incidentally both of those people are already on 'against' side of this discussion). Coin flip is not fun.

Unfortunately, my strategy is not perfect because, as the wiki states, the plan provokes discussion, which once again is detrimental to town, as demonstrated in this game.

Simply by voting for me you guys have already hinted that I'm not the king. Way to help the assassin :P
More discussion = more help for the assassin = lower chances of town winning. Hence quicklynch.

I still would like to lynch the assassin thanks to my own skills, not random decision.

Also, FoSing and voting, especially during RVS and early discussion should mean nothing to assassin. Occasional smokescreens are good, and necessary to not put a bright red neon saying 'Nobody's accusing me of anything, I'm the one you're looking for' on our king. That's the way, IMO town should play in mafia-style AintP game. There's this whole 'lol random lynch' style of playing it, but I don't know how can this be fun for anyone, except from people who just need to add +1 win (or not, if they'll fail several times giving assassin the better odds for hitting correctly) to their wiki MS stats ASAP.

I guess I'm with RC on this one as well. It is theoretically in town's best interest to essentially roll dice and select someone.

But i'll note that that's NOT what Scorpion did. Instead, what he did was ask if OTHERS were interested. This is an interesting ploy. It seems to me that if he were really interested in doing this, he would do a dice roll rather than make it non-random. Because so long as it's NOT random, we're defeating the purpose of not giving the assassin information AND we potentially letting the assassin drive a lynch (though this is only bad insofar as he's not the one being lynched).

That is, of course, all essentially moot since I think we have to agree not to play this "randomly" just because our numbers would be better. Part of playing an open setup is figuring out the best way to maximize win rate, but at the same time it's not really that satisfying if you're not the town who thought of it first -- you're juts copying someone else's thoughts.

Anyway, just because we don't want to try the "breaking" strat, doesn't mean we can't play a little more optimally. By that I mean we don't want to just chat and chat and chat and give the assassin all the information he needs. So wagon=on:

Except you miss the INCREDIBLY GLARING FLAW in the case I rolled a die and the die said to lynch the king. Hence die roll doesn't work. Way to completely not think about this.
So instead I waited for someone to give the green light, pick someone to vote for, and then we could quicklynch.
