Not even sure what the ACP is. I'm happy to say that I need to do some reading on what is required before I become an operator instead of a customer.

Any recommendations on how to get that required knowledge base?

Well, the nice thing is, we have this handy-dandy archive of titles if you do end up screwing up.

I've given you the priv. The ACP link will show up at the very bottom of your screen, helpfully named "Administration Control Panel". You'll have to re-enter your password. Then you basically follow iamkingdavid's instructions - you should be locked down pretty hard from messing with anything else. Shoot me a PM if you get lost; probably your first task should be to clean up the ones that have now-broken HTML in them, to practice.

Unfortunately, HTML is disabled in most areas of phpBB 3 for security issues (if the wrong person is able to put in raw HTML, they can very easily mess up the site and such). BBCodes are the only way to put in HTML, but I think bbcodes are disabled in ranks as well. So for now, you'll just have to live with plain text, I guess.

I have removed Korts' title; Oman, if you'll create the other titles with your newfound powers, mith or I can get them applied to the correct users. I'll work on figuring out how to get you the ability to apply titles later.

To keep you updated, I can create ranks, but not assign them to users, which leaves Flay actually doing the work anyway. As he says, easier than editing the database directly.

a. He was stuck with Best Newbie for so long, and
b. I wanted to make sure I knew how to add them.

Will add the group scummies to the to-do list; I don't think the rank images will have transfered for the ones that weren't already assigned to someone. Will leave the normal ones for Oman, so he can figure out what he's doing.

No no, you misunderstand me. I just meant to let me know when you were ready for my part, since I may not be able to solve the permissions thing right away. Anything you get done before October will be a marked improvement in speed over the old system.

I feel like it's the same argument that I feel validates some of the pun-esque titles. When it comes down to borderline titles, I tend to think about what the focus is, the intent. The intent of Cobalt's isn't to insult him, and it isn't to promote poor behaviour. I honestly don't feel there to be a problem, but I am getting a creeping feeling that you know better than me, mith. However, with all respect to yourself, I disagree with you, and will keep it on the list.

I guess if it does set a bad precedent, and people troll for titles than 1) they were not in line with site philosophy anyway, and were likely to cause problems later; and 2) they will be recognisable and not be given it. And really, bad behaviour for a title? I just don't see it as a feasible threat, but I'll take the brunt of any blow-back.

That's funny. The only game I've been in with Neto was Scummer's Mafia - it's ongoing, but we both were killed Night 0. He was a doctor there too.
