Two shadows slipped out of the darkness and approached Coron's cottage.
One knocked on the door. The moonlight cast a pale glow on the man's face, hardened by age, scarred from experience, wooden as oak.
He stood on the doorstep patiently, his long leather coat flapping gently in the smooth summer breeze. As he heard footsteps approach the door from within, his gloved hands with long slender fingers reached into his coat and pulled out a gun.
As the key turned in the lock and the resident unbolted the door, the other shadow stepped into the light, dressed for another season in a mackintosh but then again, summer rain was a distinct possibility lately.
The first shaft of light filtered through the chink in the door from the lamp within and that's when the second man forced himself in. The resident's head knocked against the door and as the partner made his way in, the owner of the house was too dazed to register what happened.
BANG! BANG! BANG! went his shotgun thrice and that was that.
Someone may have heard the shots but the Mafia ruled this part of the land and no one bothered about shots unless they were fired in their own house.
Quietly, the two men exited the house, closed the door and melted back into the shadows from whence they came.

In another part of town, means less straighforward and more sneaky were employed. They were, however, just as effective.
More silent lurking in the shadows. An unsuspecting victim. An efficient blackjack and the next thing Prussian knows, he's sleeping with the fishies with cement for shoes. Well, actually, he doesn't know that but that's the scoop he gets from St. Peter, at the pearly gates.

Everyone wakes up in the morning to find Mad Jackal lying sprawled in the village square. A dagger through his heart.

It's time to take charge and cleanse your town of scum.

It is day one. 25 alive, 13 to lynch.

A tall figure walks across the cemetary at a brisk clip. A sharp biting wind rises in front of it as if clearing the path of any obstacles. It certainly works on the undertakers who're trying to get Fritzler buried. The wind howls - an unearthly sound - and the undertakers flee, as if for their lives.

The figure reaches Fritzler's plain casket and opens the lid. It places something on Fritzler's chest and mutters some incantations, inaudible even without the wind's clamouring.

Then, the wind converges upon the casket, as if trying to spirit it away to lands unknown. A brilliant flash of blue light. Once the air clears, there's no one standing there. Keen eyes will spot a shadow moving off into the darkness.

Fritzler opens his eyes again.

Some people are of the opinion that the Fates are not to be trifled with. Doing so would cause immeasurable damage to the balance of the universe, and if one life is redeemed forcibly, another must be forfeit in its place.

Was it this that was happening as Jabroni clutched at his heart and the dagger that was embedded in it, in the town square? Or was Jabroni's fate already sealed.

What price needs to be paid for actions committed this night?
Only the passage of time will reveal what the Fates plot.

Fritzler is back.
Jabroni2000 is dead. He was a mason.

Summer rain is always a possibility in this part of Italy. A thunderstorm is just for added spice.
Maybe it was a sign of things to come as the thunder cracked like a monstrous whips, random trees falling prey to its fury. The rain pelted anyone foolish enough to be out at the late hour.
Some people cursed themselves for having been caught outside in weather like this. Others cursed their superiors for entrusting them with miserable jobs on miserable nights while still others cursed the Fates and the short straw...

Two of the creatures mentioned above happened to meet under an olive tree. One, trying to shelter as best as possible, the other, their heart just as dark as the thunderclouds. Their foul temper did not help either. BANG! one shot masked by a crack of thunder and the job was done. As the killer left, another crack incinerated the tree they were under just a few moments earlier. They shivered and hurried away, leaving PeaceBringer half smouldering, half soaked under the burning tree.

The last vestiges of the thunderclouds remain the next morning as the brilliant sunbursts make for a pretty picture. It is amazing how the world appears pristine and virgin after an especially strong storm. It's as if all the scum and garbage in the world is washed away. Sometimes, unpleasant things are washed up during a storm as well. Just like Yosarian's body you found on the banks of the river...

I am really sorry about having to do this but i don't think i have much option. The following people have been modkilled inorder to get this game moving again.

Dusk hung heavy in the air. It had been an unusually warm day and the warmth carried on into the night. d8P's house was in a secluded part of town, with alders and olive trees overhanging his low roof. The complete lack of a breeze made everything stuffy and d8P decided to eat out on the porch. A simple dinner of pasta, parmesan, spices and olive oil. He was not one for sauces and much preferred the creamy Alfredo. However tonight, he was enjoying his own brand of straight up pasta. Just cheese, some spices and oil.
A noise in the trees around him made him look up but it did not come again. There was no wind but birds and squirrels often roosted in the trees around his house and he took no more notice of it.

In another part of town, also secluded, also lonely, in the dark night, mikeburnfire was out and about for a walk. The happenings of the day had made him uneasy and he was in no mood for dinner. He felt a walk towards the river might soothe his frayed nerves. Lost deep in his thoughts, mike paid no attention to the steady clip clop of horse hooves and the jingling bells on the horse's harness. Carriages were a popular mode of transport and while late, it was certainly not odd to see a carriage around at that time of night, especially since that was the road that came from the big city.
As the carriage came closer, there was the crack of a whip, a horse whinnied as the noise of the hooves quickened. Wondering why the groom was abusing the horses so, mike was just about turn around and investigate when he fell to the ground, knocked unconscious as hooves crashed into him. By the time the rest of the carriage had made rocky passage over mikeburnfire, whatever life was left in him was snuffed out.

The next morning, sunrise brought news of mike's demise. As the town gathered for a meeting, d8P was missed. The blacksmith sent to find him, heaved in d8P's front yard at the sight that met his eyes. Too gory even for a burly blacksmith. d8P was found still in his chair, pasta bowl in hands with red gore mixed in and his head severely bashed in. He never did like any of the red sauces...

The discovery of the dead masons and especially d8P's gruesome end had the whole town shivering to themselves. The day's tribunal had been quick and justice quick and merciless. Even then, with a killer thrown to justice, the people of our Italian town felt jittery.

Illumina was one of the people who was constantly looking over his shoulder for signs of trouble. Ever alert, his police training seemed like a bane now where even slight movements or shadows seemed suspicious to him.
As he set about his business, the hair on his neck prickled. Illumina had a distinct feeling of being watched. A pair of eyes somewhere in the dark watching his every moment. It was an eerie sense. A sense of someone there, someone in the shadows but almost incorporeal in essence. The feel of eyes peering at him around the numerous olive trees, from behind the uncut hedge lining the road, darting glances from near the old well.
He refused to look back, to investigate. Shivering, he gathered his jacket closer around him. Not a leaf moved on the full moon light but grey clouds obscured the moonlight, resulting in periods of darkness. When the moon did shine through the clouds, it filtered through the alder branches weaving silken gray patterns as light and shadow chased each other through the night.
Down a shaded road, wolves howled somewhere in the distance as Illumina stumbled in a rut in the ground, caused by horse carriages. He shivered again, thinking of mikeburnfire and quickened his pace. The eyes, ever keeping stride.
Eventually, he reached his destination and was glad. Glad that the moon was out and his quarry momentarily away. He rifled through the house, got what information he needed and set out again. Absent in the house, the presence of the eyes returned outside. Half running, Illumina rushed towards home and safety. Past the town's granary, looming large in the night. Sacks of grain lay piled against an outside wall, the old guard dog lying asleep in the yard, it just raised its head in enquiry as Illumina sweeped past. Smelling a familiar smell, it settled back down.
Finally, Illumina turned in at the gate of his little cottage and ran the last few steps to his door. Going inside, he shut the door behind him with a bang and he sighed to himself, happy to be back home. He went into the kitchen for a quick drink of water and thinking warmly of bed, tiptoed into the bedroom, not wanting to disturb his wife. The scene that met his eyes almost made him faint. Before he could go into a swoon though, his fate was sealed, like that of his wife, a bullet through his head.

The eyes at the window widened as inHimshallibe saw what happened in Illumina's bedroom. He stumbled over a water pail as he moved away from the window, inHim ran as fast as he could. He needed to share the information he had. Unfortunately for some, the tracker was halted right in his tracks as a crossbow bolt shot out from behind an ox cart parked beside a house and inHim dropped down dead.

gentle breeze rippled in the trees on the riverbank as Jimmy the Rez wandered on to the old stone bridge. Things had been crazy the last few days and he could use some time to be alone and reflect on all the recent happenings. The moonlight shimmered off the surface of the water as Jimmy sat on the low parapet on the bridge. The water was not shallow in this part of the river and so, no caution was necessary. Jimmy sighed to himself, listening to the sound of flowing water. So peaceful, so relaxing.
Ya know...if there's been killings in your town, you should ALWAYS be cautious.
Jimmy never heard his attacker sneak up on him and iron pipes are more effective than blackjacks. When Jimmy opened his eyes again, he would've struggled, should've struggled seeing as he was lying in the river. Then he realised he had no use for breathing any more...

As the sun rose over the horizon the next morning, the townspeople set out of their houses with trepidation, wondering who would not wake up today. They never found Jimmy again but LyingBrian was found lying in a pool of his own blood, a meat cleaver through his head and it was not a halloween prop...
