I'm curious, what does a gunsmith role usually entail?

Not true. I think you forgot about this when you went looking for a claim.

vote: Illumina
The reporter role is pretty powerful if used wisely. If you get a report on a scum, and they don't know it, they're caught if they try to claim townie... Not as powerful as a cop, but if you don't think the scum will want this ability out of the way you're fooling yourself.

so is "reporter" like a watcher....

interesting....
I had that role at a game at the offsite one time. I nailed cocoa with it after forcing her to claim. She claimed PJV.

- looks like we've located a slip.
I'm in the same boat as SSB! here, so what's the slip?

Illumina claims "cowardly reporter" and that he's obligated to give the result of his investigation, but he hasn't actually given the result of his investigation?

curious...

Illumina, care to elaborate on your "results"?

what specifically makes no sense? my whole statement, i think not! please elaborate!
inHimshallibe wrote:Fritzler is absolutely confirmed.
REALLY!
and you know this how?... it's not possible for him to be part of a cult? the cult leader resurrects one player each night to be part of his cult...sound plausible to me! in fact, i think it would not be a bad idea to test this... yes we would be killing (either by lynch or night-kill) a "confirmed" townie, but i think exterminating the possibility is not a bad move... besides 1 vote, how much better off is the town w/ Fritzler?
inHimshallibe wrote:I think maybe you're just confused, but confused shtick is often pulled by scum, too.
i'm not confused, and i'm not scum...
I was sort of thinking this part from the mod -
So Fritzler - townie is lynched. It is now night 2 could everyone with a choice please send them via email as soon as possible.
If we're hunting for scum, why start with a guy who is definately not mafia?

yes, he was a townie when he was lynched, but bringing him back from the dead could change his alignment! this may be a bad example, but look at Pooky Mafia 2! the same thing happened there... all halo_freak said was that "Fritzler is back." he did not make a definitive statement that he was still a townie, so i don't think we should necessarily assume that!

i'm not saying we should lynch Fritzler today, i agree that would be a bad move! but at the same time, don't try to outguess the mod! i'm just saying that we should keep this possibility in the back of our minds...
fair enough, but we're going to have to get quite a ways into this game before lynching fritzler becomes a good percentage play.

not if there is a new cult member resurrected each night... waiting too long could be dangerous!...
IMO, if another "confirmed" townie is resurrected tomorrow, we should kill 1 just to make sure...
I thought that was understood...

He does have the tendency to switch gears at the drop of a hat, and has suggested that he's still learning how to pick up scumminess - his behavior matches someone that's new to the game, though it could be the ploy of an experienced player. Judging by his total time here (postcount of ~30), I'm thinking it's the former.

Being a new player doesn't preclude him from being mafia, obviously, but his forgetting we were vig-testing me may have been an honest mistake.

Because I'm curious, though, I'm going to put some pressure on him for now.

Oh, yeah... I should probably reply to this. You have good points, if they were made about someone else, I would probably follow your lead.

I've been very unpredictable, yes. This blurs all signs of what role I play. Though it does has its bad points if I'm scum.

I might point out that how long I have been on MafiaScum, has nothing to do with my experience. But you could be right there.

Yes, now that is the final question. Am I an experienced player? Am I still learning? Or am I just having fun?

My behavior could mean anything.
vague hints don't do much for me when you're near a lynch.

This bothered me as well, but being relatively new here, many of the things that bother me are common occurrances. If cults aren't a common occurrence here...

Well, with Zippy showing up as a backup cop, and given that we haven't seen a dead role show up as "cop", if he's out there, we probably need to hear from him.

and if there isn't a cop out there, then zippy should have been acting as the backup cop, and hopefully we can glean something off his posts.

I think zippy's relatively confirmed whether or not we hear from a cop...

No, let's wait until someone says anything suspcicious! With this amount of talking that surely won't take long! [/sarcasm]
The guy hasn't checked in yet, if there's a cop, its probably him.

Friggin Zippy... If he had claimed we at least would have another participator here.

Also, should we assume that he WAS acting as a cop? Nobody has claimed the actual cop, and if Zippy was a backup, he was probably backing up the Forensic Detective who died back in the mass modkilling. He should have some views since then.

If zippy filled in for Iammars he had 3 investigations, N4 - 5 - 6 If I get a chance later today I'll go through his posts since then to see if anything stands out.

After this I figured I was paranoid, so I stopped making choices... One of my targets is innocent, and another one GF so I shouldn't get a guilty result..
and your role was titled "cop"?

PeaceBringer - Godfather of the De Bello mafia family (killed night 3)
BabyJesus - DeBello mafia tracker (lynched day 5)
JSexton - Hooligan from the De Bello mafia family (killed night 7)

zu Faul - Giuliani Family Hooligan (Lynched day 4
InHimshallibe (replacing Strykker Verde) - Mafia Tracker for the Giuliani Family (Killed night 5
Tony Montana - Mafia goon for the DeBello family (Modkilled Day 7)

so we've got a Giuliani godfather and a DeBello goon?

So much for being down to only one.

so if that's right, we've got 2 scum from opposing sides in:

Flying Dutchman
StevieT92
TSAGod (replacing darquiel)
Monty
Agent 47 (replacing Nanook the Wolf (replacing Self-defeating prophet))

If we don't lynch one of them today, there'll be 2 more kills tonight and its game over for us (unless somehow they manage to kill eachother tonight).

so we've got 4 townies and a paranoid cop?

does anyone think zippy would have been the backup paranoid cop? That seems unlikely, so he was probably backing up Iammars who was modkilled on D4, meaning zippy would have had views on night 4 and 5...

The only thing that might have been a lead from zippy is how he went after lyin' brian, and he's a dead roleblocker, so we're back to square 1...

I tend to be more suspicious of the townie claims than the paranoid cop one. It seems illogical that in a game with a small number of townies such a large portion of them last to the endgame.

I agree... we've got 2 dead townies, out of 22 dead, and somehow there are 4 living townies out of 5? I guess the scum aren't going to be targetting people they think are townie, but the odds of having this many townies alive in a game where most have some type of role are pretty slim.

I'll be voting for one of Agent 47, TSAgod and Stevie
