Nobody knows why, but after all the killings taking place in town there are just 9 people left. 9 people and in that 9 are those who have been killing everyone else. Governor Prana has ordered everyone be sealed in the town, and he wants the threat gone when he returns. It's your job to eliminate that threat.

Game Rules:

General:

1 - Do not discuss this game of mafia outside of this thread unless your role PM allows you to do so.
2 - During night phase, no talking may be done in the thread at all.
3 - Do not quote PM's from the mod at all (real or fabricated). Paraphrasing is acceptable.
4 - Do not edit your posts, at all. There will be no warnings, you will be auto modkilled for it.
5 - Once you are dead, stay that way. I shall have a Quick Topic for dead players and you will be PM'd the link when you die. So talk in that.
6 - No impossible or hard to read text.
7 - Remember this is a game, so insults will not be tolerated. Play to your win condition, not to disrupt others from enjoying the game.

Voting and Deadlines:

1 - Everyone has the power to vote.
2 - All votes must be in bold format:

4 - Any and all votes will be counted, if you wish to waste a day phase voting for someone not in the game, that's fine by me.
5 - You may vote

6 - A lynch will occur once a majority decision is reached. If no majority is reached by deadline, then no lynch shall occur.
7 - If a player fails to submit a night action before the deadline, then they will not act that night. (Evidentally they needed their sleep)
8 - Day phases will last 2 weeks maximum. Night phases will last 72 hours, no more, no less.

Activity:

1 - If a player goes 48 hours without posting in-thread, they will be prodded. If they do not post in-thread within 48 hours following a prod, they will be replaced.
2 - Please let your mod know if you will be on V/LA – post it in-thread and bolded or PM it directly to me. If a player hasn’t directly told me they will be on V/LA I will not acknowledge it and probably won’t even know about it.
3 - If I have to prod any player more than twice per day, they will be automatically replaced.
4 - Players may request a prod on another player in the following format:

Mod: Please prod <playername>

. This is only to be done if a player has gone without posting for 48 hours and I have missed prodding them.
5 - If there are less than 10 posts in-thread within a 48 hour period I will send out a massprod. If overall activity continues to be a problem, I reserve the right to shorten day deadlines.

1 - The mod is human, if I botch something inform me politely and via PM preferably. Occasionally mistakes will be made that cannot be reversed, this will stand as is to be commiserated after the game, you will also then all be allowed to heckle the mod for said mistake.

If I don't find anyone scummy at the end of the day I will try to lynch the one I feel have contributed the least (lurkers if any).

RVS's and D1's are a real pain in the arse. All you can really do is wait for something little and stupid to blow up and then hope that somebody does something that sticks out.

At the chat site i used to play at, nearly every game started at night... day starts were rare. It's totally the opposite here, and i dont know why. Night starts provide a MUCH better starting environment, IMO.

Lets try stirring some debate. I'd like everyone to answer this please:

Lynch all Lurkers. Agree or disagree. Why?

I'll go first. I disagree with lynch all lurkers. I think it attempts to punish players for bad play, but doesn't succeed (they just join another game to lurk in), while actively harming the town by distracting them from pursuing scum.

I don't think lynching lurkers is a good plan. Just like you shouldn't lynch everyone who joins bandwagons, everyone who hammers town and everyone who uses run-on sentences. I think lurking is a tell, but not necessarily a scumtell. Context counts. You should call them out on their lurking, but a response of "hey, post some goddamn content!" is what your response should be. "Lynch the lurker!" is pretty scumtastic, imo, unless said lurker already was showing some scumtells.

@Dr. Pepper: Why is the plan weird? I was afraid it was trivial. Scum have an interest in no discussion, if no discussion happens we lynch people who had the greatest responsibility for this. Sort of "Lynch lurkers if you have nothing better". It should at least force scum to chip in their (counterfeit) 2 cents.

I'm not sure what you mean by "how do you lynch scum day 1", but it seems to me that you force lots of interactions and look for scummy motivations/interactions from players.

I don't agree with Lynch all Lurkers, because you might be lynching someone who has had a problem at home, and wants to contribute, but can't. So, don't risk it, at least not on Day 1. As time goes on, if it's really ending anti town, like by Day 3 and they still have rarely posted, then I'd be more inclined to agree.

Usually see how people react to the random votes and bandwagons. If someone ends up acting scummy, they're usually lynched. Otherwise, it's just a case of waiting for a slip up.

Personally, I agree with the pressure that the 'Lynch All Lurkers' approach applies, but actually lynching lurkers is a bad idea. Either their activity picks up, in which the approach is no longer needed, or it doesn't, in which case the player more than likely needs to be replaced.

Moving on, I find Dr Peppers current play rather suspicious. His three points in his second post arn't that much of a deal. Attacking a random vote, and being rather quick to jump for the 'OMGUS' button, dismissing a valid end-day play, and attempting to soft-attack a player for trying to create discussion, plus ignoring relevant question while answering obvious ones, seems rather shady to me.

What is hard to understand about this? He voted Blaze for his first post, presumably it was an RVS vote. Then he decided he "liked his vote", so I just wanted to clarify that he meant his vote was now not-RVS, and he replied that his vote is indeed no longer RVS.
