Hold up, you said that SaintKerrigan confirmed that Spyrex died due to Netopalis. Where & when did SaintKerrigan confirm that?

I am referring to where MagnaofIllusion where he confirmed via PM that a kill attempt on Netopalis would kill the Grapple Beam Target as well.

-If your mod PM confirms that a (failed) kill was made on you, do you agree that is proof that Shotty/Kast was not lying?

Granted, I do think that there is a chance that you are lying, but the PM did state that there was an attempt on a kill on me. You could be telling the truth, which is one of the reasons why I want Furcolow lynched over you today.

You'd all been arguing and shouting and pointing fingers at one another for the greater portion of the day, and some of the same points were being re-hashed over and over as faces grew red, fists were clenched, and beads of sweat broke out on the dissenters' foreheads. As the afternoon stretched into the evening, the ferocity of the argument dwindled somewhat, but neither side would budge on their argument, claiming that it was obvious that the other was lying through their teeth. And as the evening drew to a close, Iecerint decided that it'd been long enough. She put her hand in front of Kast's yelling face and pulled out a knife, holding it grimly next to her thigh. Looking fatigued yet still cautious, Iecerint stared MagnaofIllusion directly in the eye, and spoke coldly and calmly.

"Look. We all know you're scum. You've been stealing our stuff at night, keeping us from protecting ourselves, causing problems for all of us, and then lying on top of it. It seems pretty obvious that you're the one who needs to take a step back and shut up."

With a guffaw of disbelief, MagnaofIllusion steps forward and raises her voice yet again, this time to a different target, but with the same tone of incredulity and disgust, almost as if she's grown too tired of the infighting to handle it any more. But her words are scathing and raw, and... that look in her eyes is unmistakable.

"Listen, missy. You've let everyone else do your talking for you all day, and you've sat back and let others fight your battles for you. There's no way I'm gonna listen to you now, after I've already answered all your questions and listed to all the crap you've been talking about me all day. If you're gonna bring violence into it, then put your money where your mouth is."

And she took a menacing step towards Iecerint, who flinched and raised her knife to a combat stance, wary of an advance by MagnaofIllusion. At this sudden exchange, Kdub immediately jumped in the middle to try to settle things down.

"Wait, you guys," she said calmly, "look over there at bv310. She's barely said a word the whole time, and even now she's just waiting and watching to see what'll happen."

"That's not true!" interjected bv310 hotly, "I could say the same about you or Iecerint! Both of you have just been injecting comments wherever you think they'll do the most damage, but without taking a solid stance either way! You've never spoken out adamantly against your targets, you've just followed the crowd and tried not to look like you're making any waves!"

"Well, somebody's gotta die," said Furcolow suddenly, "...and quick. And by the looks of things, it's not gonna be me, it's gonna be Magna."

"Oh yeah, says who?" MagnaofIllusion shot back sharply. The group was silent for a second, and MagnaofIllusion turned around slowly to look at all of them in turn, eyes ablaze with frustration and fury. The moment of silence lingered for more than a few seconds, and if one listened closely they could hear the wind from outside whipping around the base's power turbines. And then Magna felt a movement behind her.

"Says me." said Iecerint coldly, and without another word, plunged the knife directly into Magna's back. She twisted the knife viciously, and then removed it with a sneer, watching for Magna's traumatized reaction. As Magna slowly stumbled while turning around, Iecerint brought the knife down again, this time directly into Magna's chest.

An explosion of pain registered in MagnaofIllusion's brain, and she grunted and choked as bright flecks of blood flew out of her mouth. A gasp could be heard from the group of onlookers. Magna staggered first one way, then another, grasping anything she could reach, trying to find something, anything, a lifeline to keep her from slipping away. But she fell to the rusted chrome-plating of the floor, and in only seconds, the light had left her once-piercing green eyes. Her blonde hair framed her fair complexion in a manner that hushed all who saw her life slip away.


Nobody wanted to be the first to speak. But Iecerint broke the silence.

"Somebody go find her dog tags." she commanded.

A few minutes later, one of the girls returned from MagnaofIllusion's quarters.
She held out the shiny metal tags so that you could all see the engraving.

In the middle of the night, a console back in the server room buzzed to life yet again. This time it was it was not just the results of the query that had been running. No, the computer's user had been far busier than just checking out one person's background. They were investigating a number of people simultaneously.

Apparently, whoever had been using this terminal previously had been cut off right in the middle of a transaction, and had never been able to come back to the machine to finish her investigative work. The things that she'd been busy finding out were of utmost importance to her allies and herself. But she hadn't known who her allies were, and was thus trying to find out by drawing on the vast network of resources across the universe, and by calling in favors from her contacts throughout this galaxy and the next. And she had been chatting with one at the moment that she was drawn away, and had left the conversation unfinished.

A window popped up on the screen, showing a galactic relay chat session still active. If one were to scroll up, one could find out that the conversation had been quite long and informative at first, but since a certain point three nights ago, had become strangely one-sided.

And with that, the galactic relay chat window announced the departure of the one who had been sending messages to a friend whose existence had long since been snuffed out. A few minutes later, the screen saver activated, an antiquated version from Earth had always been Cortana's favorite: a never-ending starfield rushing past the screen. Pixelated and choppy, to be sure; but always evoking the feeling of space travel, of the vast sense of true freedom, which nobody can know until her feet have left the ground far behind.

And free she was. Free from pain, free from guilt, and free from any form of sorrow she might have experienced in lamenting over the ill-timed loss of her already short 'life', if you could call it that. One might argue that true life is not something she'd ever had, so how could she have lost it? But the other would say that at the very least, she was now free from from experiencing whatever the equivalent of such feelings might have been, if she had been able to have them... and that, at least, was a comforting thought.

But after a scant few hours of inactivity, the screen of the terminal hidden deep in the endless server rooms went black, never to be reawakened.

Spoiler: Why Kdub?

If you follow the thoughts I had at end of previous day, the ideal thing would be to kill Kdub. All other players have at least one if not more mod confirmed ties (some public some private) with another player. Kdub is the only possible player who could be the sexy teen role blocker. Yet Kdub refused to claim yesterday, which essentially proved he was Evil. RB is hardly a power that needs to avoid being found; his choice of roleblock targets is an ideal scum list: Robo who was most probable town, then (potentially) Fur (rolecop), then Muffin (cop). Regardless of whether MoI or Fur was the second mafia, Kdub pretty much had to be the third (which clears Netopalis, but does not clear MoI).

Spoiler: Why 2-shot claim?

I am a town vig, but on replacing in I found myself in one of the rare spots in which maintaining Shotty's lie seemed best. I have no doubt that replacing into an already suspicious spot and claiming that the previous guy was lying about his powers would be at all beneficial to avoiding that mislynch. More so since scum would have to consider that I might shoot them at that point.
I also knew at that point that there was at least one scum RB and possibly a scum RB who could potentially steal a bonus kill for his team (btw, neither of my abilities are "primary"). My ability also strongly disinclined me from trusting MoI's claim (though this is private info, so I didn't use this to try and get him lynched).
I have single gun which is capable of both rapid fire or focused fire. Rapid fire can be used twice per game, focus fire once per game. Rapid fire will kill my target AND has a chance to kill anyone who is near my target (I'm assuming this means someone who my target acts on or who acts on my target). Mod confirmed that any additional deaths resulting from the rapid fire would be killed by Shot. This makes it almost impossible imo for the Spyrex death to be caused by my ability.
Focus fire is an "unstoppable" delayed kill that can not be blocked by any means other than killing me on the night I use it (I'm unclear whether this means it is immune to roleblocking or theft; it may be).
Shotty missed the night 3 deadline but actually tried to submit a kill on Muffin using this ability.
I submitted a kill on Kdub on N4 using this ability.*

Spoiler: What happened?*

I'm hoping someone can own up to using some kind of ability on me last night. I got a Night Results PM that told me a voice appeared in my head while I was setting up my rifle to kill Kdub. The voice convinced me to wait until tomorrow to do it. I was expecting today to begin with Kdub still alive and I don't know why:
-My ability worked when I was told I was blocked.
-My ability ignored the delayed aspect and happened immediately.

My speculation:

Someone has an ability that turns delayed abilities into immediate ones (perhaps as a side effect of some other ability). It would most likely be meant for synergy with Cortana's Coroner ability but also potentially have benefits with other players such as my own ability. Hopefully that player was not BV (I'm guessing Iecerint).

Additional Thoughts:
-On seeing Spyrex flip and hearing that Spyrex (Cortana) was actually responsible for the delayed flips, it strongly reinforces my suspicion that MoI was scum. He claims to have role-copped Spyrex, but did not share the delayed coroner ability.
--Seems odd that Chun Li was included in the delayed flip since Cortana was dead before Chun Li.
--Seems odd that Cortana revealed alignment, but nothing confirmed for the others. If we assume the mention of Netopalis having a contract on Cortana is game relevant, then it makes the Grapple Beam claim much less plausible (why use a protective ability on someone you need to kill).

Speculation

- I wonder if BV's death was an attempt to prevent him from confirming MoI as scum due to some statement from their private thread (ie. if MoI said something about Spyrex which gets contradicted by Cortana's delayed coroner reveal).

-However, on seeing Kdub die but the game not ending, it either means we have a third party (possible, but unlikely) or MoI was town and Fur is the remaining mafia.
--Less likely, but this possibility also occurs, is that Kdub has some kind of fake death ability (though using my flavor makes it almost unthinkable).

-We still have no info on how/why Muffin survived my kill attempt from N2.
--SSBF please share your investigation results.
--If you have more info on how you survived Night 2, then please share it.

-Fur you have several points that have not been answered:
--Who was your night targets (I know you claimed to be blocked but if you weren't blocked who were you going to target)?

After seeing the delayed reveals, I felt very comfortable with MoI's lynch. After seeing Kdub flip but game not ending, I am not nearly as comfortable anymore.

@Iecerint: I'd kind of like to reveal my information now. I have some important things to talk about. Not only am I 99% sure it will lead to the final scum, it also makes a person almost guarateen town.

At this point, there's 1 confirmed mafia and 1 nigh-confirmed mafia. Since the game has not ended, we either have 1 mafia still alive, 1+ independent(s) still alive, or a combination.

If mafia, I'm leaning to Fur (meaning MoI was either lying town or town with mod-screwing around).
If independent, it's a toss-up (from other PoV, I guess I'd be the most probable).
If both, then I'd go for the Fur lynch. Arguably, town could aim for the mafia/potential SK cross kill and when they see I have no kills tomorrow just finish off Fur.
