That title would make zero sense without the avatar.

I've only had two avatars in my time on MS. The previous one was a Minnesota Vikings helmet.

My avatar isn't transient.

The first portion is related to his posting style on MS and the second portion is related to his love the Minnesota Vikings, which if you have spoken to him is obvious. Avatar relation is very mild and unnecessary.

@CES - Generally the thought process for finding someone a title is like this: "oh haaaaaaaay, this person doesn't have a title and I feel they are a part of the community that deserves a title. I wonder what title would FIT him/her. Hmm, I shall think of one. Ok, that might work. Post."

So, yeah, it's still a dumb point unless you believe in metaphysical title creation.

It is related to his posting style and his love of the Vikings in that you came up with it based on the avatar and hammered it into a poor fitting relationship with his actual persona.

My point is that it does fit his persona. You're saying it's avatar based and does not or weakly does. Therefore, you are claiming to have some understanding of his persona, savvy?

I said it was created based on his avatar. I'm not really trying to get into a
completely
retarded argument here so please, if we could keep this from becoming that. I'm holding up my end.

Too speak more generally so that nobody gets their panties in a bunch, coming up with an avatar title and then attempting to loosely fit it to someone's personality or style is not good titling.

Wouldn't want you to get dragged into the "completely retarded" argument you began, but I again ask you what you know about Zach's personality to justify saying it doesn't fit. I stated why it does suit who he is and what his presence here on MS is, and your refutation is based on what you believe is proper titling policy rather than being related to the actual forum user in question.

Flaming Viking

Zachrulez is a huge Minnesota Vikings fan and can have a fiery temperament at times in games when he's playing aggressive town. Plus he's been on site for quite awhile and deserves a title.
Second.

@ Ythan: Zachrulez's avatar has always been of a viking of some sort, it's well-known that he loves the Vikings, and his town game does tend to be aggressive. How does the suggested title not fit his persona?

If VP can't keep what I'm saying straight then maybe just reading his posts here isn't the best way to stay on top of it. Giving you the benefit of the doubt here and assuming you didn't read mine.

From my point of view, at least, the Viking aspect is a part of Zach's persona, much like the Kerrigan aspect is a part of my persona (persona being defined, in this case, as a collection of things, physical or not, that represent someone). In both of our cases, we reflect that part of our persona via our avatars. In Zach's case, it's one of the things that defines him on this site.

After thinking it over, though, I do actually agree with you that the "Flaming" part of the title is related more to his current avatar than his previous one, so I
rescind my support for Flaming Viking
. I might be willing to support another Viking title that is less related to a specific avatar. (Perhaps something like
Waiting for Hell to Freeze Over
? Sorry, but I just
had
to say it. )

I support Zach getting Flaming Viking.

To all the people who are against someone getting an avatar partly based on avatar, I would like to remind you of Panzer and 'Pink Kitty Tank'.
Seriously. Read your role PM before playing.
I am sorry if you have to prod me, I have absolutely no concept of time.

My prefered pronoun set is "cie/cir/cirs[elf]" but they is more than acceptable.

I'm more than positive that we've had more "moments of weakness" than just the one with P'jager. In fact, looking through the Titles page there's a handful of titles that are actually very weak by today's standards (parade of username puns and one-off jokes gogogo). But that didn't stop them from going out.

I agree with having standards to a point (i.e. aesthetic appeal, cleverness please) but some of the commonly thrown-around "rules" seem more intent on shutting people out than anything else.

Also also, someone referenced f-light's av-based title earlier. It's worth mentioning that she got another title for a different reason after she changed her av. The first title was funny at the time, and since the associated avatar has been removed the title has also been removed. That's how I think avatar-based titles should work tbh.
