If that’s the standard than titles need to pretty much be done away with. Because, deep history or no, the vast majority of titles here mean VERY little to anyone but the player themselves, and perhaps their personal circle of internet-friends. Does anyone who never sets foot in General Discussion care one bit about Reck’s title or why he has it. No. That doesn’t mean it isn’t something Reck should have. Titles can’t be all things to all people.

That's why it's a GD-related title. I mean, for fuck's sake, my title essentially references a site-wide meme that got so overspread and out of control it lead to Shea posting a thread in GD telling people "Reck's gay, we get it, can we not harp on it anymore?" The fat of the matter is, MOST people get the reference. The ONLY people who would get dana's title are the ones who have played in his games before, and guess what? I've played in one of his games, and I still think it's a stupid title/reason to give him a title.

Actually, I have no idea what your title means Reck. I gather that it has something to do with that 320+ page "Guys, Part 2" thread, but I'm honestly not going to read through that much stuff just to understand an in-joke. By itself it's not particular funny and strikes me as a "you had to be there" type thing. Which is fine. A lot of the titles are like that.

The name is better, but the reason for a title is still forced and stupid.

I don't mean to be rude but you are coming off as someone who is trying to keep titles as something sacred and special. It's just words under a name. People with titles are not granted any more respect/privileged/preferences over anyone else. I honestly don't get the big frigging deal with screaming down someone else's nomination.

Planning/organizing/balancing/flavoring/modding games is a lot of hard work and if danakillsu runs a whole series of them then it should be rewarded on a mafia site more than a general discussion meme. If you feel that Kise should be recognized first for his Square/Enix series, then step up and nominate him. If I had played in one of his games and the game was enjoyable, then I would have because Kise is a cool dude.

Instead, the community suggests assigning a title ultimately on the basis that seeing that title under someone's name would be better than seeing "mafia scum" under their name.

If anything, it should be even more nostalgic now, because it hearkens to times past, and the way things used to be, and all that. Should make Reck feel even more like he belongs. Changing it to 62 or any derivation vice GD will just seem tacked-on and lame.
