Don't have time to get this situation proper thought, but that suggestion is ridiculous. Each 3-seat party, like mine, would be lucky to join a coalition.

I'd take 30 Million.

My suggestion:

All of your base Party (4) - 60 Million
People's Front of Judea (3) - 30 Million
Anarchist Party (5) - 70 Million
Rent Is Too Damn High Party (4) - 60 Million

Gandalf actually PMed me a proposal that would give me more than 30 Million, so he's totally showing initiative.

I'm not taking it though - I believe in this proposal (but it probably does show that to keep trying to find ways to get seats cheaper is liable to lead to a new deal coming into play.)

Going behind people's backs isn't exactly novel, Gandalf. And giving Zang, TonyMontana and you 5 million each is just plain stupid; 1-voters probably wouldn't mind it if no coalition was formed and 5 million is exceedingly poor incentive to let it happen regardless.

Uhhhhhh...... Why would no coalition be better than one where we get 5m each?
It's a zero-sum game. 3 players getting 60 million or more hurts your chances of winning more than getting 5 million helps you. Even if you don't agree, there are good odds one of Zang and TonyMontana does realise this essential point.

I don't think I even need to respond to Tony's suggestions.

Wrong, gandalf. I'm going to shoot it down for a bunch of good reasons: it's not stable enough (too many members have incentive to look elsewhere), it involves too many players (it just takes one mistake) and it's too likely to be sabotaged by one of the 1-voters.

Yarr. The Judean People's Front can't be trusted.

Chenhsi, the current offer on the table had you getting more. Don't be silly.

Suggestion:

TonyMontana - 100 M
Zang - 54 M
Cogito Ergo Sum - 33 M
gandalf - 33M

Tony gets his pay-day and we take full advantage of gandalf and Tony's need to be in the coalition (since this means they won't defect).

gandalf5166 wrote:I'm all for that. However, it does NOT ensure that Tony won't be defecting, as he will receive PLENTY more offers that may or may not be more generous.
You can't always control for stupidity. Giving Tony more just sets up the others to defect as it's the small parties that really needed to be motivated to stay in the coalition (since they suffer least from the coalition falling through).

*shrug* You're not very likely to get your money back if there's just 220 on the table.

Money spent campaigning doesn't go in the pot. There's no reason the total would be 240.

That would make sense if Tony were in the lead, but that's not even close to true. Him getting 100 M is entirely reasonable.

New proposal:
TonyMontana - 100 M
Zang - 54 M
Cogito Ergo Sum - 33 M
Cirno - 33M

You're in no position to make that type of claim, gandalf. And 33 was a good amount for you too - it would've given you 2 more rounds.

Gandalf tipped off Tony that a counteralliance was in the works, so Tony PMed Zang, Cirno and I a proposal that gave Cirno and I 40M each. Honestly kind of a no-brainer; it looked like a solid coalition with a nice payout. I was fully intending on going with the grand coalition before that but Gandalf's asshattery paved the way for a perfect counteroffer from Tony.
