Nothing grave. A few wood blocks and two smooth stone slabs. Which I took from Chevre's place near my two bridges. If Chevre wants two (or more) slabs in return, follow the road to my Bay and take it from my warehouse.

It looks really cool and it's been up for only almost two weeks. There are 4 nations representing Earth, Wind, Fire and Water, each with their own homeland and nation-specific handicaps and advantages, and a no-man's pvp land in the middle. Homeland invasions are mediated through plugins but otherwise players cannot enter each other's areas. Unfortunately I don't have the IP, hehe.

In order to get the IP you have to apply at their thread on the Minecraft forums (I think) and they recommend creating an account on their forum too. It looks interesting, might just check it out.

Not sure, sorry, Minecraft login server itself seems to be down for me atm.

All right guys, here's the skinny. I lost my job sometime in the middle of February. I was able to pay for March, but barely, and I just won't be able to pay for April

Therefor, I am now making this a donation-run server

Q: So you're doing this because you're unemployed? How will we know you'll use the money on the server and not on McDonalds?
A: Once the target amount has been hit, I will not accept any more money until the next month. I think that's the best way I can give my assurance

Q: Will you upgrade the server?
A: If there's enough demand for it, and you the people are willing to chip in for it, yes

Q: But UA, you don't even play anymore. Why do you care?
A: Because, really, JD and I are like the best mods ever. And even if I dont play I'm still doing a lot in the background, like making regular backups since I dont pay for automatics, and nightly server restarts

Q: What do we get for donating?
A: Once Bukkit is released, and we get mods and usergroups, there will be a special Donators Usergroup with their own set of powers and commands, which you'll be able to enjoy for the month in which you donated

Thoughts? Opinions? Concerns?

What purpose would the donator usergroup serve? Making people feel warm and fuzzy and giving them powers that may influence the server state? Other than that, no real concerns.

Also: am I the only one that finds it far more interesting to watch

other people

play the game than it is to actually play? I find that I can watch a full three hours of pbat / x / seananners / etc doing let's plays of minecraft, but I can barely sit down long enough to farm my trees for actual playing.

Hey guys, I have said this before, but I will happily chip in to help with the running costs. My only request is that, if possible, I don't want to use Paypal because I hate them with a passion. How much are the monthly server costs?

I don't really care for special "donator" groups, or mods in general - if people want them, okay, but I prefer things to stay as vanilla-ish as possible. On the other hand, it would be really cool if we could set up a cron job to make a weekly map of our server. I offer to help with the technical side of doing that.

Esurio, thanks for the warning about the bar. My advisor is back from this trip, so I'm super busy and won't have much time to play for the next week or two. I needed to upgrade the device anyway
