Cultural Revolution is Over!

Post Post #0 (isolation #0) » Fri Feb 17, 2006 1:47 am

The People of China vs. The Maoists

Be afraid. Be VERY afraid. No, make that deathly afraid. You might die a gruesome death.

The People of China need be afraid, for they will suffer the full wrath of their false-communist, megalomaniac, egotistical, scheming, and ever so slightly unhinged dictator, Mao.

How so?

During the Great Leap Forward (1958-1962), the People suffered massively from Mao’s absurd, senseless, scientifically bankrupt projects. He commanded the digging of 4 feet deep trenches between rows of rice in fields, which was hugely labor-intensive, only for the peasants to find out that no rice could grow in the poor mineral soil found at this depth especially with excessive drainage. The labor was performed by peasants, as well as city dwellers (intellectuals) forcibly relocated to the countryside for this purpose. Whatever rice grew despite all this was left to rot the fields. What??? That’s right, Mao decided that China’s steel production had to be greatly increased, so he had everyone melt every piece of metal they owned instead of harvesting the crop. Then Mao blamed the sparrows for eating the rice, so that everyone was busy chasing and killing sparrows. Without the sparrows to eat them, the insects multiplied to eat every grain and seed.

Disease, death, starvation, despair ensued in all of China. Perhaps as many as 60 million people died. Yet the People had to pretend to be content and well-fed; to do otherwise meant execution.

One man, and one man alone was brave enough to stand up to Mao, and criticize him openly, if meekly by most standards (1959). This man was a believer in the Communist ideals, a brave and principled man. He was Marshall Peng Dehuai. He was, not surprisingly, fired from his post.

After the Great Leap Forward debacle, the Communist Party commissioned an opera to ridicule the old days of the Emperors. This opera was called “Hai Rui dismissed from office” about a man who suffered for criticizing the Emperor.

And that got Mao really, really mad. Mao realized that the opera had become wildly popular because the People enjoyed it in the secret of their hearts as a glorification of their hero, Peng Dehuai, for daring to stand up to him.

In 1963-1960, the dire conditions the People were living under were compounded by bad weather and natural disasters. Now, another man very high up and close to Mao, Liu Shaoqi, quietly started to end Mao’s crazy policies, and bring some relief to the People’s misery. Now, Liu was becoming a hero too...

That did not sit well with the Great Helmsman. Something had to be done.

Purges. Public humiliations. Executions. Jail sentences. Harassment. Thuggery. Brainwashing. Anarchy. Destruction. Mayhem. Theft. Betrayals.

Orchestrated by the Maoists: Mao’s bitter and paranoid fourth wife Jiang Qing, and Mao’s #2 man Lin Biao, who intensified the personality cult propaganda, the Cultural Revolution fired up teenagers to destroy the world and punish their elders. Teachers made to grovel to the students... schools were closed... and the youth given orders to steal and kill.

It is 1966. You are in the twisted universe of the Cultural Revolution. Your goal is to survive. You can only trust your family (no scum Masons here).

To survive, you have to toe the line, you have to send others to their deaths. It’s plain logic that when you are the torturer, you are not the torturee. But deep in your hearts, you live with the fear that you or your loved ones may be the next target. Don’t draw attention to yourself... follow the program, never too much, never too little... either will get you killed. And never forget that today’s hero is tomorrow’s hanged man.

Disclaimer: Participants consent to relieve Mafiascum.net of responsibility for any anguish, despair, anxiety and disillusionment that might arise from reading gruesome, but historically accurate death scenes.

Welcome comrades, and get posting! Notice that all roles were selected at random, using the random number generator. Also, if you have any questions about your role that have not been answered already, please drop a PM by.

BTW, Pooky, is my Chinese ok?

"The struggle has begun! The struggle has begun!"

You see rows of teachers with black ink poured over their heads so that they look like a "black gang," with placards hanging around their necks bearing words such as "reactionary academic authority," "class enemy" or "capitalist roader" and a red cross, like condemned prisoners awaiting execution.

They are wearing dunce caps and carry dirty brooms, shoes and dusters on their backs.

Pails filled with heavy rocks around their necks, too, so heavy that the wire cuts deeps into their skin. All barefoot, hitting on broken gongs and pots, forced to cry out "I am black gangser So-and-So."

They are made to kneel down, burn incense and beg Chairman Mao to pardon their cimes.

Beatings and torture soon follow, eating nightsoil, insects, electrical shocks, broken glass, hanged like an airplane by the arms and legs.

Someone shouts: "Are we being excessive in this movement? No! There's no excess. This is a good movement!"

Suddenly, you have to participate, because if you don't... you will be a victim, too.

How this dreadful day will end is anyone's guess...

Some immediately took up the sticks and applied the tortures, they were the school bullies.

Greatly emboldened by the instigators, the other students also cried "Beat them!" and jumped on the teachers, swinging their fists and kicking. The stragglers were forced to back them up with loud shouts and clenched fists.

Once the first step was taken, all were bound to follow.

They did pause briefly for a vote count, then resumed the beating with increased savagery.

Student Hop Shui dutifully calligraphed the following on a big character poster:

In the middle of the crowd, a barely recognizable figure is being forced to kneel on the edge of a vertical drop on the campus terrain. If the figure allows himself to lean slightly forward, the heavy pail of rocks around his neck will toppled him over the edge. He kneels for 15 minutes and is now visibly about to collapse. Then is pulled to his feet and punched in his midsection: the sound is like that of a basketball bouncing off a wall.

He cries out, "Save me!"

One of his torturers splashes a bottle of ink into his mouth and laughs... "Let's see who will come to your rescue!"

Student Hop Shui dutifully calligraphed the following on a big character poster:

One teacher is imprisoned in a tiny room under a stairway and tormented. It is pointless to stop the tormentors, because it is "reactionary" to even try to protect someone. After being tormented, he can barely walk. He is dragged out at noon time, forced to parade with all the others, beating a gong and exposed to the summer sun for over 2 hours. He is then dragged up to the second floor of a classroom bulding and down again, beaten with fists and broomsticks along the way. Some of his attackers run to another classroom to get some bamboo carrying poles to beat him gurther. Someones tries to stop them, pleading, "You don't have to do this! This is too much!"

Using erasable ink, Hop Shui flowingly calligraphs the big character poster below:

Hop Shui points out that there are no double-voters in Communism. Everyone gets one vote.

The East is Red,
The sun rises,
China produced a Mao Zedong,
He seeks happiness for the people,
He is the People's great savior.

After the millions of deaths and wholesale economic disaster of the Great Leap Forward, the normally ultra-cautious Liu Shaoqi outsmarted Mao in front of no less than 7000 party delegates and cadres.

The 7000 participants were there to have a rational discussion about the tragedy, but it was made clear to them that criticism was not welcome.

Towards the end of the days-long conference, Liu Shaoqi was supposed to make a speech praising Mao to high heaven. Instead, Liu laid into Mao's policies. "People do not have enough food, clothes, or other essentials," he said; "agricultural output, far from rising in 1959, 1960 and 1961, dropped, not a little, but tremendously... there is not only no Great Leap Forward, but a great deal of falling backward." Liu's speech brought a torrential response from his audience, who could hardly wait to raise their voices.

Inwardly, Mao was black with rage, but held his fire as Liu clearly had the support of the 7000 participants.

Lin Biao stepped on the podium, ans saved Mao's bacon by going on with the usual high praise of the leader.

Being forced by Liu Shaoqi's strategy to change the party's policies was Mao's biggest setback since he came into power. He had been given the thumbs-down by virtually all of the stratum that ran the country. From this moment, Mao nurtured a volcanic hated for Liu and the officials who hahd attended the conference. He was out for revenge. For this reason, a few years later, he launched his gerat purge, the Cultural Revolution, in which Liu and most of the officials in that hall were to be put through hell.

As Mme Mao spelt out, Mao had "choked back this grievance at the Conference of the Seven Thousand, and was only able to avenge it in the CUltural Revolution." Of course Mao was not just in quest of revenge. I was obvious to him that this set of officials was not prepared to run the country the way he wanted. He would purge them all, and install new enforcers.

Classroom power was concentrated in the hands of the leaders of a few groups. A “black den of the cow ghosts and snake demons” prison was set up. It consisted of 3 rooms in which 60 teachers were imprisoned. The fate of the teachers in the black den was a cruel one.

The physics teacher was thrown into the black den on charges of having been a “big landlord” and “old reactionary.” He was condemned to hard labor day and night. He was a bit hard of hearing and was at a great disadvantage when his hearing aid was destroyed. His tormentors accused him of “slyness” and “pretending to be deaf” and tortured him very cruelly. Once morning when they made him sweep the third floor of a school building, he jumped out a window. Shortly afterwards someone came and told us that Teacher Hua had committed suicide. We ran out and saw him on the ground. He was still able to talk, though he dared not tell truth, saying only that he had fallen. He was bleeding profusely, but people just stood around watching him as he lay there softly groaning. Finally, two other “black gangsters” took him to the hospital and summoned his family.

The students charged his family with having got him to pretend suicide and forced one of its members to confess: “Hua was wrong in doing this. We must draw a clear line between him and us. We must struggle against him for taking this defiant action.” He died five days later. Two days later, his home was raided. The student raiders mostly children of the military, took his radio, his books, even his bankbook. Some of them dug 3 feet into the ground and broke into the walls on the pretext of searching for opium. Actually, they were looking for gold; many families had hdden their jewerly or even gold bars in their houses and yards after the revolution.

Hop Shui trembles as he calligraphs the vote count...

Class struggle update...

Top running dogs for the capitalist roaders:

Twomz: 7 (chamber, igota75, mystery meat of doom, Glork, Fritzler, Shamrock, CES)

Cogito Ergo Sum: 6 (LML, Tamuz, the Unwritten, mlaker, Pooky, Vaugh)

Bacde: 5 (Y, Yosarian2, Pug89, SOS, Twomz).
Y: 2 (TSAGod, Bacde).
chamber: 2 (Thok, Vaughn).
Shamrock: 1 (Glork).
Tamuz: 1 ( Babyjesus)
mlaker: 1 (VisMaior)

There was truly heroic resistance from ordinary people. One was a 19 yr-old woman, a student of German called Wang Rongfen. She attended the Tiananmen Rally on August 18, 1966, and her reaction showed astonishing freshness and independence of spirit, as well as courage. She thought that is was "just like Hitler's," and wrote to Mao posing a number of sharp questions: "The Cultural Revolution is not a mass movement. It is one man with the gun manipulating the masses. I declare I resign from the Communist Youth League." One letter she wrote in German, and with that in her pocket she got hold of 4 bottles of insecticide and drank them outside the Soviet embassy hoping the Russians would discover her corpse and publicize her protest to the world. Instead, she woke up in a police hospital, and was sentenced to life emprisonment. For months on end, her hands were tightly handcuffed behind her back and she had to roll herself along the floor to get her mouth to the food that was just tossed onto the floor of her cell. When the handcuffs were finally removed, they had to be sawn off, as the lock was jammed with rust. This extraordinary young woman survived prison - and Mao - with her spirit undimmed.

Soon, your moderator who is hopelessly vote-count challenged, will entertain you with the story of Marshall Peng Dehuai, and the great and tragic love between Liu Shaoqi and his wife Wang Guangmei.

Jiang Ching's (Mme Mao) campaign to eradicate all culture needs to proceed at a faster pace. We need to hurry the smashing of the reactionary black elements capitalist-roaders!

With 28 alive and class-struggling, we need 15 to conduct a proper humiliation/torture/execution.

Everyone is now equipped with bigger sticks and brass-buckle belts.

We now need SEVEN to lynch
! Struggle on! Appeal to Mao Zedong Thought!

mlaker: 7 (VisMaior, Glork, babyJesus, Fritzler, CES, Thok, Ameliaslay)

Cogito Ergo Sum: 5 (LML, mlaker, Pooky, Vaugh, BabyJesus)
Twomz: 4 (chamber, igota75, mystery meat of doom, TSAGod)
Bacde: 4 (Y, Yosarian2, Pug89, SOS).

Glork: 1 (Shamrock)
Y: 1 (Bacde)
Fritzler: 1 (Tamuz)

CES is released as attention turns to mlaker. He is not allowed to wipe the ink from his face.

He is dragged into the streets by an unruly gang of 27 thugs, some leaders, some fearful followers.

His arms are held back, painfully contorted into the jet plane position. A crowd gathers, oblivious to the identity of the victim, and cheers on the attackers, yelling insults.

"Beat him without mercy!"
"Death to the reactionary landlord!"
"Royalist dog!"

mlaker is forced to bark and roll over. His face is smeared with animal feces. One thug strikes his face repeatedly with a belt bearing a heavy brass buckle.

A mumble is faintly heard... "don't you... re... cognize... me..."

His face is bloodshot, swollen and caked ink mixed with excrement. Hungry for gore, and out to prove themselves ruthless against capitalist-roaders, his limp body is kicked around by thugs for nearly an hour after the victim breathed his last breath.

Suddenly a small child pushes his way in the crowd, and with his tiny high-pitched voice, screams in horror:

"What have you done! You have struggled against the Great Helmsman, Mao Zedong!!!"

A deathly silence quickly spreads - no one dares to move, no one dares to breathe.

Mao Zedong has been lynched. He was a Serial Killer.

Everyone off to a sleepless night, more than ever fearing for their future.

The rooster will sing Monday morning 8:00 AM, EST, or after all night choices are in and processed.

Ameliaslay was awakened in the middle of the night when his house was broken in. Half a dozen thugs, whose voices he recognized as friends of his children, pushed his books off the shelves, and carried them to the back garden.

A great big bonfire was started.

It was fed by precious calligraphy scrolls; watercolors, paintbrushes, and some ancient wood carvings.

After a savage beating, Ameliaslay, who was already skeletal from the stoic and self-sacrificing starvation of letting his family eat the best morsels, was sent to prison, where he later died from either lack of food, torture, dysentery, overwork, or all of the above.

Ameliaslay was Peixuan Li, a
Li family Mason.

Fritzler 14 (AT LEAST!): (Y, Bacde, Pug89, Shamrock, edion0, Coron, Twomz, CES, igota75, BabyJesus, Glork, Thok, Yosarian2, VisMaior)

Tamuz 5 : (Y, Tamuz, TSAGod, Pooky)
The Unwritten 1 : (BabyJesus)
edion0 1: (Fritzler)
Y 2 : (Tamuz)
igota75 1 : (thedocsalive)

The classes have struggled. They have deemed Fritzler to be a black element! 48 hours without sleep, with rotating interorogators, beatings with belts and cruel kicks, Fritzler breathes his last breath in a dark, dank cell that smells of feces.

Fritzler was Wi Wu. He was studying Foreign Languages at Beijing University when all classes were cancelled.

Fritzler was a
Red Guard Recruit - he had recently sworn allegiance to the Maoists.

You'd think everyone would sleep tight after such a violent class struggle, but it seems that quite a few people were up.

We awoke to find the cold, stiff body of thedocsalive, with a bizarre bluish hue. Upon investigation, we found that the night before, thedocsalive complained of a slight fever, and was seen by a barefoot doctor. Real doctors were intellectuals and were pleagued by severe class problems that often resulted in their being emprisoned or sent down for harsh manual labor on the countryside. Barefoot doctors, being politically pure peasants give a few months of training in hygiene but mostly indoctrination with Mao Zedong Thought as a healing principle, were to replace them. This barefoot doctor misdiagnosed thedocsalive's fever, gave the wrong medicine, and the patient died. The patient was but a poor peasant.

RIP the docsalive, Peasant.
Working tirelessly for the "People."

Given the late hours, there was considerable mayhem on the streets. Wang Guangmei, who stood by her husband courageously when he opposed Mao's Great Leap Forward disaster, was placed under house arrest. She was dragged on the darkened streets, wearing grotesque clothing and a pingpong ball necklace to signify that she was a prostitute. Wang Guangmei insisted she'd done nothing wrong. She would not yield. She refused to confess imaginary crimes. She was beaten and tortured by an angry mob made up of Elite Red Guard that hoped that their persecution of Wang Guangmei would make them less likely to be struggled against the next day.

RIP edion0, Wang Guangmei, Vigilante.
Working with pride and dignity for the "People."

And that's a lynch, comrades, that will make everyone most happy.

Yes, that treacherous snake, power-hungry, neurotic, abusive, scheming
Jiang Qing (Madame Mao)
has been justly lynched by the People.

After Mao died, she took over his functions as
Serial Killer
.

Just to prove that those that are people that are born beautiful can become ugly as the deeds that make up their sorry lives, this is what Jiang Qing looked like:

Everybody who knew this woman, hated her.

Mao too.

Anyway... that should put to rest the thugs coming at night to burn people's books and paintings...

The rooster is greeting the dawn, we are all hungry, let's eat it.

There are rumours. There are rumours that the Yunan Red Guards conducted a house raid last night. They picked an easy target. Poor hapless Fangyu Hu, a displaced intellectual from Beijing University, was labelled a black element, tortured for six hours in his own home, beaten to death. His hut was searched and nearly destroyed in a fruitless search for valuables. Ah, well! That's a sad conclusion to Fangyu Hu's re-education by the peasant masses! Perhaps Fangyu Hu welcomed death, as he was nearly dead of exhaustion from having to carry cartloads of dead sparrows day in and day out.

We mourn the loss of
Fangyu Hu
, knicknamed "
the Unwritten
." The poor sap worked for
The People
.

STRUGGLE ON! Twenty-one alive, eleven to lynch.

Glork's vote proxied to CES until further notice.

When Glork says he'll be visiting his family, he means his family of all of China's peasantry. Let's hope Glork enjoys his re-education and returns to us a lean, mean indoctrination machine!

I hope I got that vote count correct given that I don't have a pencil and paper...

Since I am out of town, maybe the best would be to stop posting when you have a lynch. You may wish to wait until I have posted the death scene before sending me your night choices.

I will not be able to post a death scene until Sunday, which is only 4 days from now! If the lynch occurs while I am out of town, the "dawn" will be set to occur next Thursday (the 27?) at 11:00 EST at the earliest.

Horror of horrors!
Cogito Ergo Sum
's limp and lifeless body, better known to her family as Xiaohong Feng, has been found hanging from a tree and bearing marks of a savage beating by what cannot be the work of a single individual. Indeed, scared witnesses have reported the Elite Red Guards drinking and shouting obscenities in by the roadside under the faint moonlight. Her family members hide their sorrow and curse, most insincerely and unconvincingly, Xiaohong's "political errors."

No one can afford to publicly mourn the loss of
Cogito Ergo Sum, Feng Famliy Mason
; anyone looking sad, will be the next victim.

Adopting the reactionary stand of the bourgeoisie, they have enforced a bourgeois dictatorship and struck down the surging movement of the great cultural revolution of the proletariat. They have stood facts on their head and juggled black and white, encircled and suppressed revolutionaries, stifled opinions differing from their own, imposed a white terror, and felt very pleased with themselves. They have puffed up the arrogance of the bourgeoisie and deflated the morale of the proletariat. How poisonous!

Everyone assembles at Red Square for a state funeral!

Wail for
Thok
, the courageous
Marshall Peng Dehuai
whose stand against Mao's policies during the Great Leap Forward earned him to spend the rest of his life in disgrace. What a great, principled, brave man we have lost! A devoted Maoist found his hiding place, and executed him.

Oh, yes,
Glork
, aka
Ding Chen, Chen Mason Group
died of complications from dysentery. First he was given useless medication, then he was given the wrong medication... when the Maoists came for him... it was too late.

Sixteen left... nine kicks to the head to knock out permanently!

Viper0933 was Qiaoshan Huang, a barefoot doctor. He did his best with his scant training, he saved 50% of his patients and killed the rest. How was he supposed to know?

He was a doctor that couldn't afford shoes, that should have been a hint.

Viper0933, Qiaoshan Huang, 50% kill, 50% save, barefoot doctor has been beaten to a pulp in the name of the class struggle!

You are getting used to the routine of nightly murders; you have become insensitized. Rather than honor your dead, which might make you the next victim, you simply return to your daily activities. You say nothing. You just go on, but the fear in your heart grows with every death.

You try to give little thought to
mystery meat of doom, Private Xuedao Gu, Roleblocker
. Yet another victim of the collective madness.

You might have a soft spot for gentle
Tamuz, Weihua Guo, Guo Mason

A book reviewer wrote:Gao Yuan was swept up in this insanity, and in the beginning of his narrative he enjoyed proving his revolutionary zeal by "outing" the teachers at his school who supposedly were not righteous or revolutionary enough, and participated in destroying many of their careers. But Gao stopped having so much fun when the lives of his friends, his family, and finally himself were destroyed. Instead of the unified force of revolutionary youth that Mao envisioned, the logical outcome was the disintegration of the youth movement into smaller and smaller factions, who merely used Mao's instructions as an excuse to bully each other and consolidate power. Gao is not afraid to admit to his own evil acts, such as when he participated in the beating of a teenage girl, pulled a meat cleaver on his own father, or when he helped destroy a hospital, all because he was lead to believe that his politics were more righteous than everyone else's. He then watches helplessly as the countryside descends into factionalism and anarchy. Some parts of this book are quite alarming, as the youths digress into torture and warfare, and many of Gao's friends are severely injured or killed in the factional fighting.

Fear envelops the citizens as they have come to expect every night to be murderous. No one looks forward to the break of day anymore.

Whose bloody, beaten corpses are going to be found this time?

Soon it is reported that
Zindaras
, aka Shanshan Guo,
Guo Family Mason
, has been shot, execution style. She was but a sweet teenage girl, loved by her friends. What happened? What has she done to deserve this?

Everyone shakes their head in disbelief, and silently vow to avenge her.

When it is found that
chamber
, Commander Kun Pang,
Cop
, has been relentlessly and cruelly tortured to death, no one is really surprised. That's what the Cultural Revolution is all about, isn't it? The purging of figures of authority. The turning against one's neighbor.

The town is beginning to be noticeably sparser.

You are only nine left. Morale is so low, that it takes only 5 kicks to the head to kill.

The class struggle must continue, polluted as it is with private and collective settling of accounts.

OH NO!!!

The
Central Committee of the Communist Party of China
(Zhōngguó Gòngchandang Zhōngyāng Wěiyuánhuì) is thirsthy for more blood and gore and has imposed a cruel, unreasonable and totally arbitrary deadline of June 30, 9:00 EST for another purge!

Struggle... STRUGGLE! We must struggle!

The Central Committee has decreed that June 31 is henceforth known as the day before July 1.

Useless Mod vote: Coron

Project Syndicate wrote:Episodes of “burning books and burying intellectuals alive” had occurred before, but none was more radical than the destructive force unleashed by Mao.

Eventually, anybody – from the President to average citizens – could be criticized, labeled an “ox-demon and snake-spirit,” persecuted, and listed for death. People killed others to safeguard Mao, and those who were executed shouted “Long Live Chairman Mao” on their way to death.

In Guangxi province, where some of the worst violence occurred, nearly 100,000 people were killed during July and August 1968.

The author Zheng Yi reported that in Wuxuan County alone, more than 100 people were eaten, because devouring enemies was the only way to prove one’s love for Mao. Livers, eyes, or brains were removed while victims were still alive.

VOTE COUNT of THE DESPERATE, HUNGRY AND PERSECUTED PEOPLE:

People of China! Your humble servant Hop Shui is presently rotting in jail in a remote province of China, and ill with dysentery from eating stale rice husk buns. Too much fiber! How I long for fresh, moist, tender steamed buns...

At the moment, I have no access to the scrolls where I kept track of the struggle! But fear not, by tommorrow, I shall have some answers for you.

M-Mafia
was
Marshall Peng Dehuai
,
Miller Vigilante
, who had been recruited by the Red Guards, and moved up the ranks to join the Maoists.

Tragedy!

In the middle of the night, Bacde, aka
Ling Bai, Doctor
, was killed by rampaging Maoists!

He was an intellectual, that's true, so good riddance, but his medicine was better than the barefoot doctors, but not as good as Mao Zedong thought.

So people, the struggle must continue, and if you feel ill, concentrate on Mao Zedong thought and your health will miraculously improve.

Splendid, splendid, thanks for asking. I thank the Communist Party and its Great Leader Mao Zedong for having the wisdom to send me to jail in order for me to reform my thinking and become a better communist. A leaner one, too. I didn't even deserve to eat the rice bran and hay stalk steamed buns, I felt like I was stealing food from the more deserving peasants.

And how are you?

You know a counter-revolutionary has been beaten enough if chopsticks are useless and you must eat him with spoons.

Chinese proverbs

Virginity like bubble, one prick, all gone.
Man who run in front of car get tired.
Man who run behind car get exhausted.
Foolish man give wife grand piano, wise man give wife upright organ.
Man who walk through airport turnstile sideways going to Bangkok.
Man with one chopstick go hungry.

Maoists and other scum:

malker - Mao Zedong, SK
You are . You are a self-indulgent, paranoid despot only concerned with your own power and glory. You like good food, plenty of women, and care not about how many peasants died yesterday or will die tomorrow.

At night, the Maoists are free to speak to you and plot ways to purge the People of anti-Mao elements, real or imagined. HOWEVER, you are never to speak to anyone at night. You will not reply.

You are immune to investigations. You will turn up innocent.

You are the Serial Killer. You win if you are the last man standing.
Y - Maoist - Elite Red Guard Recruiter
You are Lin Biao's, Mao's trusted henchman. You are the architect of Mao's
personality cult. As such, you have the power to recruit ordinary People to become sadistic, anarchist, Mao-worshipping Red Guards.

At night, the Maoists are free to speak to each other and plot ways to purge the People of anti-Mao elements, real or imagined.

As the architect of Mao's personality cult, you can invite someone to join the Red Guards every night.

You will not know whether they accept or refuse.

You are a Recruiter. Every night, each Red Guard will send in a name, which is a suggestion of which player to kill that night. The Maoists must select one, and only one, of the names. That player will be killed that night.
SOS - Yunan Red Guard Recruiter
You are Nie Yanzi, famous writer of "big character posters" firing up the
People to join the sadistic, anarchist, Mao-worshipping Red Guards.

At night, the Maoists are free to speak to each other and plot ways to purge the People of anti-Mao elements, real or imagined.

You can invite someone to join the Red Guards every night. You will not know whether they accept or refuse.

You are a Recruiter. When you recruit someone, they become a Red Guard. Every night, each Red Guard will send in a name, which is a suggestion of which player to kill that night. The Maoists must select one, and only one, of the names. That player will be killed that night.

Pug89 - Maoist - becomes SK if widowed.
You are Mao's famously venomous wife. You are a persecution zealot, and paranoid to boot. You denounce all forms of culture.

At night, the Maoists are free to speak to each other and plot ways to purge the People of anti-Mao elements, real or imagined.

If Mao dies before you, you will become a Serial Killer. You will win if you are the last woman standing.
Yosarian2 - Maoist - Doctor
You are Mao's trusted doctor. At night, you may administer medicine that
protects Mao or one of his cronies against the lynching furor of the People.

At night, the Maoists are free to speak to each other and plot ways to purge the People of anti-Mao elements, real or imagined.

Every night you can protect one Maoist from a night-kill.

You actually didn't like Mao at all, you later wrote a book about your experiences. Therefore, you are immune to investigations. You will turn up innocent.

The recruits:

Fritzler - Sends messages at night.
You are Wi Wu. You were studying Foreign Languages at Beijing University when all classes were cancelled, and you were re-located to the poorest countryside for re-education. You are living with peasants that don't trust you, anymore than you trust them. They have no
food themselves, they are starving, and they deeply resent having another mouth to fed forced upon them when there is no rice for their own children, thanks to Mao's disastrous agricultural policies. As a result, the peasant punish you by forcing you to carry buckets of manure to
the field until you just about die of exhaustion.

You have been assigned to carry buckets of manure. Every night, you may select someone to receive a bucket of manure.
You can hide a short message of 10 words of less for the recipient.
Machiavellian-Mafia/TSAGod - Co-Vig Miller
Once Mao's #2 man, you are deeply troubled by the famine that his crazy
ideas have imposed upon the People. You saw the horrific sufferings that he helped create, and you had to find a way to stop him. You understand the deep hatred of the People for the Maoists. You once sobbed publicly as you apologized to villagers.

You were once supposed to give a speech praising Mao, a speech he himself had approved of. However, you took him by surprise, and read a speech that was critical of him.

As a sworn, public ennemy of Mao, you will turn up guilty if investigated.

At night, you may conspire with your wife to select someone to eliminate, as a revenge for the ordeal Mao put your through.

If you are investigated, you will come up guilty, because the Maoist have fabricated false evidence against you.
Twomz - Peasant
You are a Peasant.

viper0933-igota75 - Barefoot Doctor 50% success, 50% kill
You are Qiaoshan Huang. As a direct result of the disastrous policies of the "Great Leap Forward" the people in your village are starving and in very poor health. Having to eat grass and rice stalks has left them emaciated, and suffering from deadly dysentery. Because there are so few doctors around, Mao had the brilliant idea to give some select villagers are few weeks' training to become "barefoot doctors."

Every night, you can protect someone - but having little medical training, you may do more harm than good, especially if you misdiagnose.
BabyJesus - Barefoot Doctor 50% success

Lowell/AbbeyGargoyle/feuerdrache - Li Mason Group - cannot be recruited.
You are 30 yr-old Haifeng Li. Your mother was pregnant with you during
the Long March when Mao led his starving, motley Red Army run around in circles while he was scheming to crush his personal enemies and jockeying for further power and privileges for himself. She gave birth to you by the roadside, and like Mao's wife, dhe had to abandon her baby to complete strangers on the road. She died a few days later of puerperal fever. You were amongst the very few children that were abandoned and survived. You owe your life to Peixuan Li (Treigit) your widowed adoptive father and your mother, Shaolin Li (Vaughn)

As a result of your mother's ordeal, and your own, you cannot be recruited by the Red Guards.

At night, when the Maoists are sleeping, and under the cover of darkness, you can whisper your true feelings to your trusted family members.
Vaughn - Li Mason Group - cannot be recruited.
Haifeng Li's mother, your biological grandmother, was pregnant with him during the Long March when Mao led his starving, motley Red Army run around in circles while he was scheming to crush his personal enemies and jockeying for further power and privileges for himself. Haifeng's mother died a few days later of puerperal fever. Haifeng was amongst the very few children that were abandoned and survived.

As a result of the ordeals endured by your loved ones under Mao's rule, you cannot be recruited by the Red Guards. You have heard too many horror stories.

At night, when the Maoists are sleeping, and under the cover of darkness, you can whisper your true feelings to your trusted family members.
Treigit - Ameliaslay - Li Mason Group - cannot be recruited.

Cogito Ergo Sum - Chen Mason Group
You are Xiaohong Chen, wife of Ding Chen (Glork), and mother of 14 yr-old Ching-Hua Chen (Vismaior).

Your daughter's school has been cancelled, and she is being fed increasingly violent Maoist propaganda in the derelict school building.
You fear that she will join the Red Guards.

If your daughter joins the Red Guards, she will never speak to you again.

Zindaras/LoudMouthLee - Guo Mason Group
You are Shanshan Guo, daughter of Weihua Guo (Tamuz), and sister of 16 yr-old Tsuhan Guo (PookyTheMagicalBear).

Your father was publicly humiliated, tortured and hanged for criticizing Mao during the "Hundred Flowers" period where Mao encouraged people to speak out, only to have them purged (jailed or executed) later.

At night, when the Maoists are sleeping, and under the cover of darkness, you can whisper your true feelings to your trusted family members.

Bacde - Doctor
You are Ling Bai. You were a brilliant medical student, and beloved midwife and doctor. Unfortunately, your education is now viewed as a threat to the Party, and you have stopped practicing medicine overtly. In secret, you are willing to help the people that you know and trust. You often have to correct the medical mistakes of the barefoot doctors that outnumber you, or bandage gruesome torture wounds.

You are the courageous and devoted wife of Liu Shaoqi (TSAGod) and support his opposition to Mao.

Once Mao's #2 man, your husband was deeply troubled by the famine that Mao's crazy ideas have imposed upon the People. He saw the horrific sufferings that he helped create, and he had to find a way to stop Mao. He understands the deep hatred of the People for the Maoists. He once sobbed publicly as you apologized to villagers.

He was once supposed to give a speech praising Mao, a speech Mao himself had approved of. However, your husband Liu Shaoqi took Mao by surprise, and read a speech that was critical of Mao.

At night, you may conspire with your husband to select someone to eliminate, as a revenge for the ordeal Mao put your through.

The Unwritten - Sends messages at night.
You are Fangyu Hu. You were nearly failing your Literature major
at Beijing University when all classes were cancelled, and you were re-located to the poorest countryside for re-education.

You have been assigned to carry cartloads of dead sparrows. Every night, you may select someone to receive your cartload.
You can hide a short message of 10 words of less for the recipient.
Thok - False Miller
Cultural Revolution. A play (called Han Rui Dismissed From Office) was written to glorify, allegorically, your opposition to Mao, which gave great hope to the Pepole. Mao didn't "get it" at first, but when it dawned on
him that the play was bout how great you are, he engineered a great bloody purge of the Communist Party. Mao's henchman Lin Biao closed the schools and brainwashed all the teenagersto loot their parents' house for the benefit of the Party, denounce their parents and teachers,
burn books, and destroy all culture except for Mao's Little Red Book.

You are a true hero, many peasants and villagers look up to you.

However, if you are investigated, you will come up guilty in a kangaroo court.
