The D1 wagon
was fucking terrible. It cost town one of their very few power roles and lead to town being severely weakened by not having their only reliable investigative ability. It simultaneously makes me more careful of chasing down policy lynches in such an irreverant manner, and also further makes me support the idea of people policing themselves and not playing with VIs/people they don't like.
Regarding the
mod error in the votecount on D5
, it was a mistake that it said "With 7 alive, it takes 4 to lynch". However, there were five players listed in the votecount, the first post of D5 stated five players alive with three to lynch, and the first post had the same information. NS may have been voting under the assumption he was putting DW at L-1, however, if anyone paid any modicum of attention to the game, they'd see what was really happening... not to mention with RP's vote on there, gandalf would've just come in and hammered anyway. It didn't change the game state that much.
Mafia won because
they were able to strategically eliminate their strongest threats. Seriously, go back and read and look who they knocked out: Nexus, Farrun, Quilford, and kuribo. They systematically took down the more active, vocal, attentive players, leaving them in an endgame with their mislynch target, DeltaWave, and two townies who really haven't been paying attention and have been active lurking/dead weight. It's a viable strategy similar to the one Faraday and I used in Goofbash Invitational. Just goes to show you that pressuring the lurkers/less active players is beneficial.
On the
setup design
, I feel this played out about as balanced as it could. The centerpiece of the setup was supposed to be the dueling inventor claims. With both inventors able to confirm themselves, I thought it'd be interesting to see what happened when you put the same role on different sides of the game. I was hoping for a moment when both inventors were locked in a 1v1, but both were able to confirm themselves with gifts that night, which would make the Jailkeeper/Watcher claims seem even less likely. Not to mention, I thought the game could get very interesting with six different inventions flying around everywhere. Unfortunately, we never really got to see it -- gandalf was gifted the bulletproof vest by his buddy N1, but his buddy died D2 and never got to do anything else. kuribo's slot was jailkept the first night, gifted the NK victim the second night, finally got his vanillaizer to RP N3, but by that time, it was useless. I think the rolecop only getting ONE result and it just so happening to be on the loverpair was just about as "worst case"/"best case" as that role could've worked out in the long run.
I hope you all enjoyed the game. I tried to be as timely as possible with vote counts and prods, and I tried to keep everything up-to-date and informative. Let me know your feedback on my modding and the setup in general.
I also need opinions on which Large Theme I should run next:
Lost: The Final Season (the conclusion to my 1.5 year long Lost series)
or
Reck's Mad Mad Mad Mad Mind II (the sequel to my 2010 bastardmod)
