I can't get to the server, but right now it's displaying "stream end" errors and the like and restarting minecraft doesn't seem to do anything.

Also: I just did a seed named after myself, and I spawned on a rather drab island... then I found a short cave. A cave that drops down into a pit with water. A pit with lava and resources up the ass. A pit that, a short distance away, has a gigantic slice in the cave system filled with lava (in the walls of this ravine? lapis, redstone, gold, and possibly diamond that I didn't see). I decided that I'd farm all the small time resources (wood / cobble / saplings / food) I needed topside and then dive down there, make a home out of the gigantic cave system. I also punched an enderman to death.
don't you feel silly now?

It takes a few times to get on the server for me usually.

So here's what you need to do.

Log on. Fail. Bang your head. Walk away for about 45 seconds. Try again. Rinse and repeat till it works.

something's wrong with the spawn location. it put a few people at completely random spots across the map.

Spawn is fixed. I forgot to check the spawn coords in the level.dat.

i was in a tree!

then i fell out onto a skeleton and spent the rest of the night RUNNING AWAY REALLY FAST IN SHEER TERROR

So whats the verdict on the ice is it staying or going? I was planning on building a dock, and the ice really hampers travel by boat...

I'm think about developing at -250, -150, which is a marshy area with lots of trees and messed up water color. :P

The ice is going away. It just needs some time, because either me or MME needs to mess with MCedit to clear the ice without screwing the world save :-)

I made a simple 1 block cobble perimeter around the town.

the goal should be to light everything inside that perimeter (I have lots of coal for torches, feel free to take what you need but only take what you use) and build a sufficient wall to keep creepers out (3 blocks high from each stone block should do it). doors should go into where the gravel paths are.

if newcomers want to make a house, they can tear down the section of the wall, build what they want then fix the perimeter.

feel free to customize the wall as you see fit with texture and height.
