Heh.
I didn't gamble, tried to hire a bodyguard a couple times with no success. Didn't hire lawyers. In fact, had mudster not been found by IS, i was gonna go for sketchwick because he hired me for 10,000+"Bah. I knew sleeping with DP would turn out to be a bad idea..." --quercitron, Old West Mafia.-

DP, re: us not using the money
Personally, I was planning to use the lawyer in the late-game, where it would have a huge impact. We weren't very afraid of our victims buying bodyguards, because there were no obvious targets... until IS came out, and then I was already dead and mudster wasn't very active anyhow, so I'm not sure about his own strategy.

Ralph:
The amount of money told me you were the casino manager. I didnt even bother figuring out what the numbers meant.
The only other option was that you were mafia giving me money. But it seemed like way too much money to just keep a cover.ShowElvis_Knits: "IS you are a sexist schmuck, for real"
Guttersnipe: "INTERNET STRANGER: You will never get away with the crap you pulled in this game again in any game I am in, ever"

Yeah, I don't think it was so unbalnced...we got WAY lucky. Think if polotet had been the cop and IS mafia...I'da killed our cop, you know? Yea for me being lucky.
Who did I hire for $2 that one night?
Neo, I spent all ($10,998) on a bodyguard because I figured there was only one left. If the mafia wanted to spend a ton of money and kill IS I didn't think I was going to stop them. As I said last day I was trying to cover all our bases because if IS truly was cop it seemed like an easy win after we got the GF (I don't like GF ability passing down either, I'm not sure if I knew DP didn't do that...but I assumed)
My role was so amazing. Try to find burglar. Burglar get's lynched day 1. Try to kill casino manager. He gets revealed day 2.....
It WAS satisfying putting a bullet in his head...to think he claimed I had nothing to do with JDTAY gettig "caught" I derailed a bandwagon against me without even claiming a role for once in my life!

Maybe unbalanced.
Polotet getting killed was lucky. And IS's play did help the town. Most cops seem to fall into the trap of blurting out their guilty as soon as they get one. Not very productive because (as IS pointed out) you don't know what kind of results you're getting. And why limit yourself to 1 investigation? Once you come out you're on borrowed time. The Police Acadamy should make this game required reading for their detectives.
The deluge of information before the last night (getting people 100% cleared) certainly helped direct IS's last investigation. And all the money he got (due to his dire situation) helped protect him better than a bluff, I'm sure. But even without that help the game was pretty much a shoo-in. If IS had been killed instead of Polotet and Sweetwater played less effectively or been killed the game might have ended with a mafia win.
But probably not. Roles could be confirmed through amounts spent for hiring. Other roles could also be confirmed through similar methods. Once we started doing that it would be just a matter of mopping up.- jesternl

It was an intersting game, but I disagree a little with Turiya about coming out. I've been killed more than once for not coming out as a cop right away after finding a guilty, with a reasoning that said "You didn't come out right away, you must be lying" It so depends on the towns mood and intelligence-

I had enough money to hire a bodyguard every night, but I deliberately chose not to the night Sketchwick killed me. This was a big mistake! I had even said to DP in my email that night that it may be a major error and boy was I right from a personal point of view.
I didn't follow the game too closely after my death (no offence!) but I tend to agree with DP that the mafia erred in not attempting to hire a bodyguard to prevent someone else doing it. However, I made the same mistake!
Good game, my thanks to DP and all participants.-
