I did MVP voting for both the winning and losing side for each subgame of Team Mafia last year as partially a way to help the judges determine the eventual winner.

That makes perfect sense to me.
What if...we had a group of people (though not necessarily the judges unless they want to pull double duty) go out and find players that they think should be nominated?
Also Kise does MVP for his games. Is he even still around?

There should be a Best and Fairest award for a player with exemplary skill who promotes and practises a policy of good sportsmanship in game and who creates an enjoyable atmosphere.

Awesome. More data!
AGar and I plan on doing MVP voting at the end of Experimental Role Mafia. I would love to see a) more mods doing it willingly and b) the listmods at least considering making it a mandatory part of running a game. (With the possible exception of the newbie queue.)

Do you think this kind of overlaps with Most Enjoyable Player though?
The definition is in my post. Best and Fairest awards aren't given out to good, 'fair' players, they're given out to good players who make the game fun and enjoyable.
In post 210, zoraster wrote:how is that not captured by the Most Enjoyable award?
Ehhh, maybe the differences are too subtle, in that Most Enjoyable is generally given based on a player's personality and character being, well, enjoyable, whereas Best and Fairest would be more about being courteous, level-headed and kind? Best and Fairest players could be awarded the Most Enjoyable award, but Most Enjoyable players would not always be eligible to receive the Best and Fairest award.

I don't think that it's a bad idea to have a similar award to Most Enjoyable Player like Best & Fairest, as players with good sportsmanship without being particularly humorous or entertaining do make games a lot more enjoyable, I've found. I quite like the idea, but I'm not sure if higher powers would agree.
