The only way I see it working is if you can snap up 4x Cathedral of War and a moderate sized creature with Exalted to drop on with Homicidal Seclusion, you're getting a nice boost then.

but exalted only works if there's other creatures on the battlefield and you swing with 1 of the multiple creatures

Really haven't played with Exalted pretty much at all.

that's the idea, yes

but homicidal seclusion states "if you control no other creatures, get +3/+1 and lifelink"

exalted is a basic +1/+1 if you only have one creature, but it becomes really powerful if you get exalted on several creatures/artifacts and only swing with one beefy guy, leaving the rest as bodies for blockers

Like I said - there's a land that has Exalted. So 4of that, Hom Seclusion + something like Sublime Archangel, now I'm swinging with a 12/9 with Flying and Lifelink.

But that'd be a hell of a situation to get that to all drop right, and it's definitely not something I'd expect to be consistently good.

I think you could make great use of barter in blood style cards + terminus and run stuff like said angel and nefarox. I guess you could run this mono black too.

But yeah, Standard right now is pretty good. U/W Delver's a bit of a boogeyman, but it's nowhere near Caw-Blade/Jund levels of oppressive.

Yugioh is just a really poorly designed card game, unfortunately.

In terms of simply designed, intuitive card games that play just as they are intended and still manage to be pretty strategically interesting, I would suggest pokemon.

I just won a 1v1v1 EDH game.

Was playing a UG deck, Edric captain, my opening hand was:

Sol Ring
Island
Eldrazi Monument
Sensei's Divining Top
Lorescale Coatl
Spitting Image
aEther Vial

My combo kinda just rolled from there eventually. By the end of the game, my Lorescale Coatl was a 25/25 monster, and Eldrazi was on the field.

Usually through a succession of smaller combos that reach a similar goal.
