I don't think that's what Kinetic is best known for.

Kinetic's nom is funny and I like it.

The two caveats are 1) Kinetic may not like it (depending on his sense of humor), and 2) it's a little inaccessible to newbies (but then aren't all titles?)

Man, someone questioning Oman's commitment to the title fairy thread. That is super new and (to prevent hissy fits) 100% coincidental!

It is somewhere in the old Title Fairy Thread + Forum 62. A namesearch should do you well.

From what I remember, Kinetic didn't allow slightly pornographic material in a game for the Large Theme Queue, and then his PMs with the person in question got out in which he was worried about having his online name attached to inappropriate material because he is looking to be a lower.

Also stems from the fact that he was first nommed for cocks or some derivative and said he didn't want it because of above worries about future employment.

To that though,
Employee of the Month

"Hire This Guy" is much funnier. I do think that if it's decided to give Kinetic a title based on this line of his persona then Red has struck gold on the first attempt; the question is whether to give him a title based on this.

Hire This Guy
is better. Empking pretty much nailed my opinion of this.

I prefer Employee of the Month so Hire This Guy is probably better.
I'll explain it to you. You have to get someone else to understand it for you.

Oh I remember now.

Though I think that title is a little obscure I think Kinetic definitely is deserving of a title.

So yeah,

Meriting a title isn't in and of itself good enough reason to title someone though.

Is it a good summary of his character on site?
Or is it just a one-off joke that will fade quickly?

The fact that I was there for the joke and forgot about it makes me skeptical of the title.

I disagree with you on your first statement.

I don't really think there's anything wrong with using one-off jokes that the titleholder may need to explain in the future, as long as said titleholder is ok with that. *shrug*

The Kinetic suggestion is pretty funny even if you don't know the joke. It sort-of suggests there's a story but not what it is, which is funny in its own right. (Indeed, it may be a better title unexplained.)

Yeah I'm cool with that.

Like I said I'm a tad bit skeptical but who the heck am I to talk?

Well thats not really what I meant.

I meant that a person deserving of a title should get a title. Even if there isn't a blatant title for them. Which is where this thread comes in.

The explicit position is that you don't get a forced, sub-par title because you are felt to deserve it.

Pretty sure that a title, which is usually 3 to 5 words, is never going to fill in a reader with the backstory. So who gives a shit if it doesn't make sense to people who aren't aware of the story? What matters is that it's funny and hire this guy is funny.
