But considering SPITFLY, when I read the idea I thought everyone voted, then the person with most votes was revealed and got immunity, then he would be able to grant immunity to his row or column, and then the person with the most votes who was not immune would be eliminated. Is this a workable idea? If so, I wouldn't mind running it this way!

That'd encourage row/column cooperation, and increase the importance of immunity seeing as more people'd be working together to orchestrate where the immunity'd fall instead of just... throwing votes around willy-nilly hoping to get to F8/F7 where the votes actually start mattering for everybody.
Also since immunity would be decided before eliminations, you'd have to switch around the decision-making/tiebreaker bits, but I can see it working. You need a catchy name though :p

My roommate has this card game that's kind of like mafia. The thing is, I'm not sure if it belongs here or in the mafia forums.

Everyone is either a resistance member or a government spy. On each turn, one player is made the leader. The leader picks a team of people to go on a mission (the leader can be on the team as well); the number of people on the mission depends on the number of people in the game and which number mission it is. Once the team is decided, the leader calls for a vote and every player anonymously submits a vote that either "accepts" or "rejects" the proposed team. If the majority of the votes accept the team, it goes on to the next phase, if the team is rejected, the next player on the playerlist becomes the leader. If the team is accepted, then every member of the team anonymously submits whether they want the mission to "pass" or "fail." Depending on the size of the team, one "fail" will cause the mission to fail. Once the mission is over, the next player on the playerlist becomes the leader.

The resistance wins if three missions pass, the spies win if three of the missions fail or if five consecutive proposed teams are rejected. Depending on the size of the game, the spies may or may not know each other, but I'll reveal whether or not they do. The game is 5-10 players.

It's kind of an informed-minority against an uninformed majority, but the rest of the gameplay is different. Where would this game belong?

The Resistance? That's been run in Marathon Day before by mith. Check with izak to see if it can be run here or if it's too Mafia-like (I'd say it can be run here but that's me).

Ultimately it's mith's decision on whether a game is mafia or not, but I would say that's fine. It may slip through as a mutation in the theme queue too, but I believe it's been run as both mafia and MM in the past.

Pretty sure The Resistance is playable here. As ani said, it was run recently, and it was yabbaguy's main game before Optimise.

In other news, if I ran a coin game with the following rules, which are a modified version of DarkLightA's:

- Every player begins the game with 1000 coins.
- Each round, a player PMs me how many coins they want to spend.
- Once all players have submitted or 48 hours have passed, the two lowest spenders will be In Jeopardy. All other players will vote for one of the players In Jeopardy. The player who receives the most votes is eliminated, while the other player(s) will get their coins back.
- If you fail to spend coins, you will spend as many coins as the highest spender. If you fail to spend twice, you will be eliminated from the game and play will continue as usual.
- Eliminated members will be included in The Jury at a predetermined point in the game, which will be announced once passed. When two players remain, The Jury will vote for a winner. The player with the most votes wins the Coin Game!

Any suggestions? Is it breakable? Is it too similar to Survivor? I don't want to infringe on the queue that is going strong. If there aren't any concerns I'll probably start sign-ups in 24 hours or so.

I don't see any reason to make an exception for one game. I've noted the game as abandoned, and I'll be moving it after the normal time. If you think two months is too long in general, feel free to suggest an alternative, but "it's blackberry" doesn't change anything.

No. Everyone would submit their coins, sure, but the two with the least would be at the mercy of the one with the most, for they have to select who to take to the final 2.

The reason I like this because it adds an aspect of social strategy to the coin game.

I believe there was quite a bit of social strategy in Remix.

I back stabbed shii in a way in that game (although I kept out of most social stuff and just played).

I'm not really a fan of the idea. It's taking two good things and kind of losing what makes them good by watering both down. All it does is make a more complicated mess imo.
