That's quite a spin you've put on it -- everyone else was talking about getting a new fairy and I was his sole defender? lol no -- but I recall having said some things in his defense before.

True. But his job is to
give out
titles that are appropriately well liked, not to be some tight-ass Roger Ebert kind of fellow that only deigns to enjoy the "cream of the crop" and bashes everything else. Not saying that's what Oman does, per se, but that's what his last post seemed like.
Perhaps the punctuation threw you.
This is/n't happening is a sentence that can be read as either This is happening, or This isn't happening. The slash provides optional choice, as in "he/she" or "s/he".
You're fucking weird UN, you always seem like you've got some underlying message in every post, just stop trying to impress or insult people, or stop trying to avoid doing those things, and say what you want to say.

Alright. Thanks for the input.
And yes, I did misunderstand. It makes more sense now.

Let's just reward anyone bored enough to spend an hour or two combing through usernames, then.
To be fair, the same can be said of anyone who gets a title "just" for a contribution they've made to the site. Like Amrun for the youtube tags, or even Tierce getting one before the "eligible" date because of the caching she did for the site. I'm sure there's even more examples but those are the only two off the top of my head.
I also think people are forgetting the history of the site titles. They used to be frivolously given out based off of one thing (hell, look at Oman's title) that was either funny or memorable in some way. Just saying. If the title fits.

To be fair Amrun's title was based on a humorous event (she didn't create the youtube tag, just discovered it) and Tierce's title was based on doing something incredibly productive and useful. Om just uncovered a whole lot of benign inactive spammer accounts. It's the equivalent of pointing to someone's mole and announcing that you've found cancer. It has the appearance of being helpful, but really isn't at all.
But whatever, I'm in the minority. I've said my piece and most disagree, so *shrug*.

Well I am just thinking about it, Looking at Reck's title "GD is my wingman" which was given to him before I joined the site, I know it comes from "Guys Part 2", Flay's title, I've always known where that has come from. Looking at Om's possible title, two months down the road will we remember where it is from?

Jrammar Nazi? NK-Immune Miller Vig? Welcome to the Haystack? dem.agogue? Khan Man?
And that's just from the last page.
(Mostly) on hiatus until further notice. Planet MafiaScum 2 will be modded by Inspi and JDGA - go check it out!
Yeah, I just assume dem.agogue and Khan Man are puns regarding usernames, I don't know where they're from. I remember distinctly where NK-Immune Miller Vig comes from, and I remember Welcome to the Haystack, but I'm not entirely sure about bob's title.
I like SpamWow!, I dislike that Om suggested it.
Users should definitely be allowed to participate in their own title's discussion, but he outright suggested one for himself.

1) I had already suggested a title for him. He didn't come in here and go all 'Hey, I need a title!" which is what the "no suggesting titles for yourself" rule actually works.
2) A title will be good or bad no matter who posts it. A good title does not become bad because it was self-nommed. A bad title may become worse, though.

2 months down the line I'll still be hunting spambots.
Why don't we all just let Oman decide in peace and only respond when he brings up issues?
