Well yeah. They tend to completely wreck everything within a hundred block radius (or more) if you don't kill them super fast.

If you want, UT, I can bring you to my schematics world by setting the CSP map onto a local server. It's pretty simple but the problem is implementing it and knowing exactly how close I'm going to be able to keep everything. Also, some old redstone methods get outdated. I'm trying to pick those that won't be ruined by patches and will be easy to fix, add onto, or modify in the future. I don't want to have to extend the station too much past the initial dimensions you put. Just let me know anytime after the LoL Playoffs end if you want to see it and I can build a sample layout.

I suggest making a "Wither Arena" in a well secluded area in the Nether, so that people don't go summoning it near anything important

If you guys take my nether portal and go outside the tunnel halfway down, it's pretty easy to get to anywhere far away from everything else. You'll have to kill some ghasts but that's it. There isn't really anything once you cross 1-2 bridges I had to build across lava except for raw Nether.

You guys know how badly the Wither messes up netherrack, right?

Maybe get some Obsidian/Smooth Stone/something-more-damage-resistant-than-Netherrack and layer the inside with that...?

Don't bother with smooth stone. It's no more blast resistant than cobble. And the wither will still rip straight through either, netherrack is just a little worse.

P-Edit: Ummm, you sure? I seem to remember TNT/Creepers barely denting Smooth Stone, and "ripping straight through" Cobble much more easily. But in general I would agree, let's get some Nether Stars for Beacons in key areas, but leave those bitches alone if you can.

I was planning a Minecraft large theme ages ago but got distracted by other stuff. I had some fun third-party roles in mind, too. As far as I know it's never been done. If you want me as a backup/co-mod or just ideas or whatever, drop me a PM.

And yeah, pretty much all stone-based blocks have blast resistance 30. End stone has 45, netherrack has 2.
