I don't really think there's anything wrong with using one-off jokes that the titleholder may need to explain in the future, as long as said titleholder is ok with that. *shrug*

I meant that a person deserving of a title should get a title. Even if there isn't a blatant title for them. Which is where this thread comes in.

It just seems really out there that a person can create a username and somehow manage for it to be almost identical to a poster who recently left the site. So identical that when I came back after a hiatus I thought it was shotty and I was corrected by drmyshotgun.

However, it is very very obvious they are not the same person. But hey, changes happen.

Back to titles.

Asking for a title is a really really really terrible way to go about getting one.

It has become a sort of taboo in title giving. Because a title is a community given privilege. And a self nom is more of an attention hog.

That said I don't think this title is a good idea. Nor do I support it.

Perhaps in the future.

I think you should be more glad that he attempted to help the site instead of just trashing the site. At least he cares enough to try. Hes an alright guy too. Even if he does have his moment.

Titles are subject to the recipient's approval as well as the Title Fairy's, and may be rejected regardless of other support. Titles can be removed at the request of the user. This is an exception for "outdated" or irrelevant titles, and not a standard action.
