tbh i'd personally rather scrap tpas than remove the limit, given the options that most of those opposed to limits are giving (scrapping as opposed to limiting)

If I remember correctly, the reason the hullabaloo started was because of Maru's public reveal of the OP's abuses of power. I don't recall anyone complaining about how /warp and /home and /tp were no good prior to that. Nor was there much about power abuse in the first place.

The question is--do we want a vanilla experience? these minor things have made the server so much more accessible to me as a mediocre player. We're at a point where everyone is so supplied and advanced in the game that I'm one of the few people who actually "dies" in game. The server has killed the Enderdragon at least twice. Many a Wither has been killed and many a beacon has been made. Most players are either exploring new lands to pretty much needlessly add to their surplus of supplies, or taking up creative endeavors. When a new update is released, we generate new chunks of land if necessary to reap the benefits, play about with the new features for a bit, then move on.

I feel as though this commandless experience is something the players of this server truly do not want.

I do not like the cooldowns. I really do not like the time to wait before being teleported. As far as I can see, there was one person for a cool down, and 2 that said a cool down was a bad idea. I don't like a cool down, because most of us aren't using the command every 5 seconds. I, for one, use the home command when I have traveled a good distance from my home, or am in a cave and need to dump my inventory, and the only time I use /back is after dumping my inventory.. I rarely use the /tpa command, mainly because I always forget which one teleports whom.

Maru, you said you were thinking about implementing cooldowns, but did not say you were going to. I have the feeling if you had said "I am going to implement cooldowns of X minutes", you would have had a lot more conversation on the topic. As it was, I think most people gave it a cursory glance, saw "thinking about", and filed it away as probably not going to happen.Now that you have gone ahead and done it, you are probably going to have a lot more conversation on the topic, and what will be said might surprise you.

i agree, i was immature and it shouldnt have happened how it did, i was merely pointing out to chevre who missed it the first time apparently, why the drama happened.

I'm now trying to fix the problems, to the best of my ability, while also causing the minimal amount of toe-steppign as possible, and getting the server back to being fun for everyone. I am working at it, and trying to move on, as I hope we all can.

I'm very much against cooldowns on TPs. I tend to use TPs to pop back to my item room to grab/put away things. a cooldown on the tp would make that extremely frustrating.

Ok, honestly, I had absolutely no complaints and still don't. Everything was perfectly fine by me with what teh OPs were doing and what was going on. I don't see the big deal right now. Honestly, I just want this thread to stop having 5 new pages every time I check it. The cooldown is silly though.

Didn't we (kinda) solve the op problem with them having admins now? I believe most players want a Vanilla experience, but not really a Vanilla experience. We want the basic Bukkit commands to stay, but overall, we do have our farms for food, still go mining for diamonds, and still take damage from troll creepers. Isn't that already Vanilla. Do we really need to scrap all of the commands and anger people. Like Chevre I am one of those few people who have little things. And everyone is off riding their diamond encrusted pig

so, the next update we need to delete the map. Get a new seed. And start all over again.

This isn't the first time Maru has implemented things against opinion. When he decided he wanted IRC, me and Klaz had a skirmish about it completely ruining dynmap. He argued that IRC was better and we could keep the dynmap without chat. I hate having to move between dynmap and IRC just to talk, and watch when I cannot get on.

I don't mean to offend you Maru, you are a great person and I know, you are trying your best to make the mafiascum server as great as possible, but to actually have a "mafiascum" server, shouldn't the people playing have a slight say in it?

There is a cooldown on all forms of teleportation.

Here's my stance: Though I am relatively new to the server, my time spent on the server has been spent either A: exploring the world for things to expand my home or B:helping M, Klaz, and a variety of other players with what they need. That being said, I do use the /back and /home commands much more frequently than some do. I also do trades a lot to get what I need, so I use the /tpa a lot as well. I don't abuse the power by any means. As Jmj suggested, it is very handy to be able to teleport home to drop your inventory and then go right back to where you were. Am I upset? Not really. If anything I just derp around for a minute and then go right back to what I was doing, however, it is slightly annoying when I have to wait, given that my patience changes from day to day.
All in all, I think the server is a great place, despite the recent change, and you're doing a great job with it.
