I approve of both of them on several levels, thoughts on which works better?

Metatron is a more eye catching title, I think. I prefer that one.

This. Definitely
Metatron
.

Again, that is if you felt the need to change an existing title that has already been well established as fitting the user in question.

EGOTist
is stronger than both, I feel.

Excellent idea @ the suggestor, but tbh I'd probably stick with ProPara if I was Vi though

Metatron
also would be my choice, it might not be factually accurate but dammit it sounds cooler.

If I were Vi I would choose EGOTistical specifically because it's more interesting and would generate more discussion and it's for the same thing except it's funnier and a cute little self jab, it would be exactly the type of title I would want

Too much negative connotation surrounding Egotistical. I like the EGOT thing.

Metatron is better than Gabriel. Gabriel is too subtle. Although I feel Metatron itself is too "heaven". Herald of ___ might be better?

I think the idea is that professor paragon is blatantly pretentious whereas EGOT istical is still getting the same point across while showing humility

EGOTist doesn't only mean EGO-tist, it could also mean AWARDWINNER-ist, which is more of what Vi's known for. Vi doesn't really have that much of an ego either, which makes the joke even better. Really though, the perfect tie in is the EGOT thing. Which I have never heard of, but it's pretty brilliant.

If we want to give Vi a title that doesn't reflect on Vi's personality we can do better than this.

You can argue this all day but unless someone has knowledge of the EGOT thing when the see Egotistical they will think of its literal meaning first.

I don't think you can really deny the psychological implications.

Well, lots of titles are fairly impenetrable. I actually think the EGOTistical thing is fairly clever, but I'm not tied to it.

edit: oh wait this was actually discussed

aww

Also, I think the reference in Vi's proposed title is too obscure and does not capture Vi's personality

Yup. Used to be that a Technical/Admin had to do them, but someone cooked up a mod that allows TF to do them without all the extra buttons.

As I outlined when I took over the new process is extremely simple and streamlined, I'm just here to do the final paperwork. After people finalize one or two variation for a title it only takes me about ten minutes of work to make a call, pm the recipient and setup the custom title. I have no qualms about increasing the rate at which we give out titles. I think of the whole title fairy business as a fun, community driven side event for the site rather then some super serious and prolonged process.
