Nonary Game: Ambidex Edition!
Based off concepts from Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward. This game will avoid spoilers.
Players: 9
The game will be run in a pseudo-mafia style. Each player will receive a role PM, which may or may not be unique. The game will likely be run multiple times if successful, with setups randomly generated for each iteration.
The default role is as follows:
Playername, you are a standard survivor. All you have to do to win is escape.
For this first iteration,
no unique roles will exist
. This may change in future iterations, but for now I’m going to stick to the basics.
The rules of the Nonary Game:
1. The goal of the game is to escape through the number nine door.
2. To escape through the number nine door, a player must reach 9 or more bracelet points, or BP. The door cannot be opened unless at least one player has reached at least 9 BP, though it does not necessarily have to be opened if one player reaches at least 9 BP. A player cannot escape if they do not have at least 9 BP.
3. The only way to gain or lose bracelet points is through the Ambidex Game. This will be explained in detail later. If there is no point change for three consecutive rounds,
everyone will be penalized and the game will end.
4. A player whose BP drop to 0 or below will be penalized.
5. The game continues until at least one player escapes. After the number nine door is opened and closed, it will not open again, and anyone remaining inside loses.
6. The penalty is death.
7. Each player is wearing a bracelet that keeps track of their current BP. It also displays a color and either “Solo” or “Pair”. Pair players are considered a single player during the Ambidex game.
8. Color and Solo/Pair assignments will be determined randomly at the start of each round. For rounds 1, 4, 7, etc, the colors are Red, Blue, and Green. For rounds 2, 5, 8, etc, the colors are Magenta, Cyan, and Yellow. For rounds 3, 6, 9, etc, there will be one or two of each color. There will either be one Red, Blue, and Green with two Magenta, Cyan, and Yellow or vice versa.
9. For each round of the AB game, groups of three will be formed to match the color necessary, OR to create the complimentary color. For rounds 1, 4, 7, etc, groups of Magenta, Cyan, and Yellow will need to be created. For rounds 2, 5, 8, etc, groups of Red, Blue, and Green will need to be created. For rounds 3, 6, 9, etc, groups of White will need to be created. Red is complementary to Cyan. Blue is complimentary to Yellow. Green is complimentary to Magenta. No complimentary color for White can be created.
The rules of the Ambidex Game:
1. When an Ambidex round begins, each solo and pair group will enter one of the six Ambidex rooms. From this point on, there is no communication allowed except between pair players with their respective pair.
2. Upon starting the game, you will be given two options: Ally or Betray.
3. If you Ally, and your opponent Allies, you both will receive 2 points.
4. If you Ally, and your opponent Betrays, you will lose 2 points and they will receive 3 points.
5. If you Betray, and your opponent Allies, you will receive 3 points and they will lose 2 points.
6. If you Betray, and your opponent Betrays, neither side will receive or lose any points.
7. If anyone does not vote, their vote will automatically default to Ally.
8. If both parties in a round do not vote, all will be penalized.
9. Members of a pair share a vote. Each receives or loses the same number of points a solo would after the results of the game. Only one player in a pair has to vote. Whichever member of a pair votes first, that vote will be the accepted one.
The rules of the game (The Mish-Mash Iteration)
1. Each round will last precisely one week.
2. 5 days will be given for discussion and deciding groups.
If groups are not selected by the end of the discussion period, every player in the game will be penalized, ending the game.
3. 2 days will be given for voting. Voting rules are given in the Ambidex Game rules.
4. Do not publicly post your role PM. Doing so will result in an instant penalty.
5. If you die, you lose. If all players die, the game is over.
Players who lose in one iteration will be banned from the next two iterations.
6. Once at least one player escapes and wins, the game is over and everyone else loses.
For this iteration of the game, the first player(s) to reach 9 points will automatically escape and win.
7.
READ ALL THE RULES. READ THEM AGAIN.
8. There is to be no out-of-game discussion. All discussion will take place in the game thread or private QTs provided to pair players during the voting phase.
9. Have fun and do not personally insult any players. This is only a game, the stakes are not real. Feel free to imagine they are, however; it provides good motivation.
