Any updates? I now have a level 30 happiny with an oval stone and a bunch of level 30 or close pokes. Also, made my current last cap a Safari Zone Skorupi. A Poison/Dark would be nice. Tanky, with battle armor, means no crit hax. Not really above average for elec, but still good enough. He now knows dig, anyways.

I'm rewatching the Pokemon anime, and I was inspired to revitalize my HeartGold Nuzlocke. Today I finished grinding to Level 25, and we took on Morty. With Crunch Raticate, it was a breeze. Jenna evolved, but still has the lowest HP on the team

Now we go to that Route west of Ecruteak and begin our journey to Cianwood!

As I fished in Olivine, I was hoping for a Staryu or a Krabby since I would get the Lake of Rage Gyarados, but I did not fail to get a Magikarp. I'll keep it for now, since I need a pokemon to Surf. I used a Rare Candy so that it could evolve into Gyarados (in the Pokemon Center of all places, lol). Unfortunately, I missed evolving at Level 20, so I can't learn Bite until Blackthorn...

I cleared the Lighthouse fairly easily, so now it's off to Cianwood!

For survival, a trained magnemite might be better than a Flaaffy. The only issue would be a 4x weakness to ground, but would be changed if you stumbled on an air balloon or had magnet rise...

I've been wanting to do a nuzlocke for a while now. I'll probably do a leafgreen run once I'm done playing through White 2
I also plan on doing a blind nuzlocke when Pokemon X and Y comes out

I haven't updated, but right now I'm at Cianwood and I lost Claire (Quilava) and Jenna (Graveler), which were crushing blows. On the way I caught a Shellder, a Tentacool, and a Krabby (Shania). I replaced the two team members I lost with Donald (Raticate) and Natalie (Gastly)

Level 34 Blissey (Strella) (Oh yes, nothing can stop this tank... just trying to find potions large enough to heal any health is tough, though. 222 max health, no boosts)
Level 33 Kadabra (Mystogan) (This one is just so easy to kill with, shadow ball, psychic, recover combo
Level 31 Rosellia (Zorro) (Not very useful right now, only has giga drain for attack, and growth... Does have toxic spikes, but I rarely need them)
Level 31 Skorupi (Have not changed name) (He kind of sucks... But Drapion is too much to pass up on, a dark poison with immunity to psychic? Only ground will be tough).
Level 26 Meditite (Toshiro) (Needed an immunity for ghost,, and need a physical attacker BAD)
Level 29 Prinplup (Mumble) (Currently decent... Has surf as his only SpA, but his Atts all suck)

Box:
Biabel (Jese James) (Sorry, could NOT stand this thing. He already has 3 hms, so he is basically useless. I needed to box him)

Staravia (Frightful) Still ticked about this.

On the fifth gym (ghost) so I might actually use Jese once more. Basically, Prinplup is the only useless one... Though Rosellia might not get much with Giga drain on and of the major opponents.

Alright, I started one of these too ! Standard nuzlocke rules, basically, except that I can't use two pokemon of the same species on my team (more because I find it lame than because I find it a challenge) and also no legendaries.

Main team:
Cornelis the Totodile - lv 10
Totodile is pretty good and blasts away most things with water gun right now.
Gert the Geodude - Lv 11
Seriously, Geodude is * the * best. I was very happy that I indeed encountered it on the route above the first one. Nothing can maim it (heck even Bellsprout's Vine Whip didn't hurt that much because it's a physical move) and it's pretty strong with Rock Throw. The only downside is that it hardly ever moves first because it's so slow, but it learns Rock Polish to take care of that, though honestly I hardly ever use it.
Govert the Gastly - lv 10
When you go to the sprout tower at night, you have a huge chance of running into Gastly. Though its moves are crap right now (well, it does learn hypnosis but it has to Lick its enemies to death which is quite time-consuming), it will get much stronger later on. It is very fast so it usually moves first.

Though I might be inclined to use rattata if I can't find anything better, I really prefer to stick to the more original pokemon. Same goes for hoothoot: it learns Hypnosis which is quite nice, but I'd much rather get another pokemon. Currently aiming for Spearow.

I'm afraid my mechanical, systemic playing strategy is hurting me - I'm trying to raise all my pokes to Level 35; unfortunately, Ian was killed by a Farfetch'd on Route 48. In my search for a new team member, many a Pokemon has perished to the Pursuits of Fearow and Tauros. I'm currently trying Beyonce the Drowzee.

^ There are some rules of thumb for this. Firstly, spam potions. You don't want to run ANY risk of your pokemon dying, if it's a valuable one. So if it is within 2x the KO range, potion it, because a critical hit WILL kill it (crits are 2x as powerful as normal attacks). Also, grind. Now it's lame to grind you pokemon excessively (not to mention sadistic for yourself), but you don't want to be underleveled at all.

My main problem right now is that Govert the Ghastly can't hit the flying gym pokes as its only attack is Lick. But I suppose Gert the Geodude can take care of that

FUCK I just lost Philippe, my Togepi. It was at full health but an Ekans bit it to death with a critical hit. Very sad now, but perhaps it's for the better as its defenses are really low.

I caught a zubat (Jean-Luc) but not sure yet if I'm going to use it. Still aiming for a spearow.

I don't know if you know what I mean when I said fully randomized, but when typing and movesets and stat distribution is fully randomed, holy shit is it hard to predict anything based on anything. Both of my 'decent' runs ended by running into a trainer with a Pokemon that was fully resistant to my move set.

^ No I didn't know about that. To me seems to take away from the game play. If I would want to make this nuzlocke thing harder, I'd add restrictions such as no pokécentres, no boxing of pokemon, things like that.
