Meadow of Sorrow Mafia

The mines…they came from the mines. Why did they dig in the mines? Oh God, why?

The foreman…always having them dig and dig for that gold, to places man was never meant to go. There was nothing wrong with the meadows…the meadows of sorrow. Then, they drilled too deep…they dug themselves a hole straight into Hell, where the only rocks you’ll find are molten. They were never seen alive again, those miners. The devil spit their charred corpses out into the meadow each morning, one by one, on the defiled decaying ground.

The mining community came next, after the foreman couldn’t get anyone to dig anymore. People could be heard screaming in their sleep, but their beds and homes would be empty…just the pitter patter, pitter patter of the endless yelling, growing softer and softer each second until the morning.

And they would be there.

In the meadow.

The Rules:

This game starts with night.

During the day, you talk amongst yourselves and vote to lynch someone. I will post at the being of the game how many votes are required to lynch. After each night, when day starts, I'll post what happened during last night.

You cannot post at night. During the night, players send in roles. Be prompt with your roles.

When a player dies, his role name and alignment will be public. Do not post ANYTHING when you have died, or communicate with other living or dead players once you have died. You are dead, therefore, you have been silenced. Be respectful of that.

Quoting PMs or other mod conversations will get you killed. (Paraphrasing what your PM said is fine, however.)

Don't edit your posts. (Not like you really can, but still...)

If you break the rules enough, you'll be killed (modkilled) or unwillingly replaced, depending on the situation. Do

not

intentionally get yourself mod killed, or break major rules. It's really against the spirit of the game, and creates a hassle for the GO, sometimes one that can't be fixed and utterly ruins the game. Accidentally posting at night or editing once or twice is not the end of the world, but finding out other's role from outside the thread or posting game relevant information once dead is pretty bad.

Bold your votes and put them in the following format:

Unvote: The Person You are Unvoting

. You do not need to vote for someone else if you unvote.

DO NOT JUST POST UNVOTE, INCLUDE THE FULL NAME.

Once someone gets a majority of votes, they are instantly lynched. (Half is not a majority.) Any unvotes are irrelevant at that point, the person is dead now.

In the case of a tie during a deadline, the most recent votes are unvoted until someone maintains a majority.

I will not accept dead players as substitutes for inactive players.

If you've got questions, ask me. For example, if you don't want be caught in a rock in a hard place when you assumed the doctor could protect himself or that he protects all hits (he only stops one), simply ask me.

The win condition for players generally read something like..."You win when all threats for X are eliminated," but occasionally I shake it up or word it slightly differently.

It is Night 1 while we confirm, so feel free to send in your night role if you have one with your confirmation. However, the flavor scene for Night One will only be posted after I finish sending roles, so I advise you wait for that.

Old Bess, the grandmother of seven and mother of the local reverend is smothered in it, tied to the stake, quiet as a stone.

The holy man addressed her.

"Read to us the Lord's prayer,

witch,

lest we burn you alive."

She simply stared down to the straw surronding her feet and her inevitable fate.

"So be it. She has confessed through silence. Burn her alive; leave no ash behind. She is one of many of the Satanic forces gathering in groups, to destroy all that we have created here today. She is one of the ones leaving our families in the meadow."

The roaring flames consumed her body, mixed with her horrifying screams. An outline of pain and a billow of smoke streaked the sky as the holy man tipped his hat down to the Earth and sighed.

"It's a sad day when you have to cremate your own mother for crimes against humanity," the holy man remarked, as he walked off into the distance.

It grew dark, and most went to bed.

But some do not sleep. Some wait.

And smile as the moon rises.

It is now Night One. Send in your night roles if you have them, and even if you don't, send in a confirmation. Night will not end until we have all the confirmations in. You do not need a role target to confirm.

If you do not confirm in a resonable amount of time, you may be replaced.

I feel like a jerk, but I'm having severe stress related issues and have become incredibly tired. After talking to several people about my personal health, I've decided to take a break from all Internet related things sometime around when November starts for about a month. The game will not be dying, Alkohaulec will be running it exactly like I would, and I'll be back later. I apologize sincerely and if you would like to drop out of the game, I understand. Just let me know, you have no reason to feel bad.

This is not exactly looking good for the game, considering it just started and things went "omg boom" and it just started.

The meadow...blood covers it tonight. The earth cries out due to the stain from

Primate's

defiled body. The carrier of the soul, the vessel of life, the heart was carved out his chest with a tiny, sharp knife and carved into the shape of a pentagram.

They went to drag his corpse to the cemetery...upon touching the consecrated ground, it broke into flames and turned to ash, blown away by the wind into dust.

The local investigation by the cities' basic police station, if you could call it that, found him to be a simple

town aligned puritan.

The church agreed with this sentiment and mourned his passing.

However...the meadow is not the only place for wicked deeds under the starry night. Sin exists everywhere where man lives. Shot in cold blood,

lays over in a slump, throw face down into the fountain, no longer running water or even blood, but tears of the Lord himself.

The church found

to be a heretic, an enemy of all things that the Lord found good. According to them, he was a

Warlock, Satanic Aligned

, a threat to society. The police, however, decreed that there was no evidence that he was anything but a mere

Troublemaker, Town Aligned

, even if he had some quirks.

And...then...the true atrocities. An abomination to all things that could be called holy or pleasing in the sight of the Lord. Utter blasphemy. Hung on a cross lay

crucified, left to die out in the sun, eyes being pecked out by vultures.

No one would touch him. It was believed looking upon what was only recognizable now as an it was itself a sin.

It took a very long time for the church to decree him to be a

Village Doctor, Town Aligned

who had nothing to do with the occult or wicked deeds. Officers came to the same conclusion.

The town knew that Hell itself had come to play. They armed themselves with torches and they set up a noose, tied it around the tallest tree in town. You can still see today all the names they carved into it, the victims of the lynching.

And...then the town began to damn themselves...

It is now Day One. With seventeen alive, it's 10 to lynch.

The downtime that's been going on has been insane. I am going

I can't keep this going when the site isn't stable and the forums have been down more then the time the game's been going.

If PJ or Alkohaulec would like to continue it, that's fine, but I've become frustrated and no longer want to deal with it. If I don't hear from either of them in a day or so, I'm pitching it and putting up the design document.

Thank you Mr. Alkohaulec for piecing together my mish mash of real life notes, paper, memory and alignments and a word document and hosting this game, even though I forgot why I had to stop hosting it anyway. I hope everyone enjoyed it, and that is so, I hope you thank Alkohaulec and Mr. PJ.

IIRC, this all happened because I volunteered to host a game thinking I'd wait months in line and I was given next day notice to start so I "finished" designed the file almost before sending out roles.
