Yeah, there's definitely some bugginess going on with the launcher. As far as I know though, there's nothing I can do to fix it - I've just checked and there's nothing out of the ordinary in the pack I sent them.

Just saw Klaz's post about changing the nether Pumping Distance. I have no problem with that. 3K did seem kind of excessive for the Nether. It ain't exactly the easiest place to get around in.

My vote is for normal. Just because there are mods doesn't mean its only about the mods and not about actually playing Minecraft survival mode.

I played a hardcore server once, and got all the way to face the freaking enderdragon on hardcore, easy. ( I died though )

Lurker, I think it's incredibly unlikely that you'll get enough support to make hard the chosen difficulty. If I were you, I'd strategically vote for normal - at least that way we don't get stuck with easy.

Regarding the difficulty level, I'd quite like it to be on hard! I do appreciate that others aren't quite as masochistic as me though, so I'm happy to vote for normal.

Easy, IMHO, is totally broken. What's the point of baby spiders if they don't poison you? The trick to playing on normal is to be a bit thoughtful about what you're doing, and how you're doing it. And be prepared for combat at all times! I always have a sword in position 1 and bow in position 2 on my hotbar and having played a lot of CTM, I'm very practised at switching to them in a hurry! Also, never underestimate the value of armour and keeping your hunger bar full.
