I'm playing through my first Single Player game (so long, ugh). Playing Poland and trying to get a culture victory. I'm at 3/5 right now, but the Celts are reallllllly resisting my tourism. I'm also concerned because they seem to have every city state in the game backing them so they might get a diplomatic victory. I'm pretty far on the science track and I think my navy is way better than the AIs right now so I'm tempted to declare war on the Celts and slow them down, but I'm not sure if that would really slow down all my trade benefits or what.

EDIT: This is on King difficulty, islands map (random), and year is like 1900 ish?

Well I've only done multiplayer before, this was my first pass at single player. Which I might use that option in the future.

According to my friends, Science victory is the most common. But I have to imagine that has a lot to do with their personalities and likely being timid about early military use.

Managed to avoid losing on Diplomacy in my game. I'm 4/5 the way to a culture victory, just the celts remaining. I can also build rocket parts now as a contingency plan. It looks like the game might just reach the 2050 deadline though which I think I'd win but that would be a hollow victory >.>
