Arkham Asylum: GAME IS OVER

Joker, Harley Quinn, and Batman present

Greetings, victims! This is the one, the only Joker here, bringing you an announcement for the most delightful slaughter since World War II. That's right, kiddies, I figured I'd go ahead and take over Arkham again, and kidnap... er, invite you along for the ride! Here's how this thing works. You see that little application thing down there? You fill it out, send it to me via PM, and I'll take the 24 most entertaining lunatics to kill later. And if you don't, I just press this little red button, and KABLOOEY!

[GENERAL RULES]

[01]
This is a game. The main objective is to have fun; so no excessive flaming, spamming, or submission of anything else prohibited within the MS forums.
[02]
This is a game. The secondary objective is to win. Regardless of how amusing you think it may be, don't spend the game trolling the other players. That's my job.
[03]
We are not infallible, so if any of the moderating team makes a mistake, please point it out and I will correct it if needed, before blowing you into tiny pieces.
[04]
We have worked extensively to produce a game that will torment all involved. As such, we promise to offer each player disrespect but expect to be shown the opposite in return.
[05]
Do not modify avatars. The moderating team (or rather, Harley) has spent time and care to create these avatars, and we would rather not spend time making unnecessary revisions.
[06]
Exercise common sense. If you are unsure as to whether an action conflicts with the rules, ask. Yes, this is a competition, but do not attempt to undermine challenges or game mechanics for your own gain. This violates both the spirit of the game and common respect mentioned above.
[07]
Please ignore your common sense while you decide whether or not you're going to join.
[08]
Posting or linking to any form of NSFW content may result in modkill, replacement, or even blacklisting from all future games. If you think something is borderline or questionable, it's probably banned.
[09]
We reserve all rights to implement new rules and/or ignore old ones if needed.

[GAME MECHANICS]

[00]
PM's are only to be used for communication within your tribe. All out-of-tribe contact is to be confined to challenge threads and general discussion.
[01]
Arkham Asylum
is
ANONYMOUS
. All participants are strictly prohibited from so much as hinting to their own identities or implying another player's mafiascum identity. Communication outside the private message system is also forbidden until otherwise stated. Failure to follow this rule can result in a variety of consequences ranging from a terse warning to one's elimination from the game. We reserve the right to determine the severity of possible infractions.

Immunity Challenges:

[02]
Insane as I am, even I won't do away with the basics. Each round will possess an Immunity Challenge.
[03]
The outcomes of all Challenges are final. That said, however, be sure to keep Rule 03 of General Rules in mind. Because I probably didn't.
[04]
Winners of Immunity Challenges will be safe from elimination that round and cannot be voted out in Tribal Councils.
[05]
We (well, some of us) appreciate the fact that prospective contestants will enter this game with a range of skills. With this in mind, understand that we as mods can't be bothered to cater to all players' needs and time constraints in challenges.

Tribal Council:

[06]
Tribal Councils will last twenty-four hours from the moment I force Batman or Harley to update stuff. If a player fails to submit a vote within the given time frame, he or she will suffer embarrassment, a self-vote penalty, and a parking ticket. In the event that a player knows he or she will be unable to vote by deadline, that player may notify the moderators and cast a conditional vote to avoid penalization.
[07]
The results of Tribal Councils may be posted before deadline if and only if all persons involved have submitted a vote, and the mods are not lazy.
[08]
The modification of votes after they have been submitted is prohibited. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in a self-vote or nullification of one's vote. Repeated offenses will be dealt with as deemed appropriate. The only exception to this rule are conditional votes mentioned above.
[09]
In the event of repeated failures to vote, the moderating team may choose to execute or replace the offending moron at their discretion.
[10]
The outcomes of Tribal Councils are final.
[11]
Questions concerning ties in Tribal Council may be found below:

Spoiler: Breaking Ties
I
In the event of an initial tie, a revote shall take place. Contestants may only vote for one of the tied players, and all tied individuals may not vote.
II
If a majority is not met in the revote, the following methods (in the given order) will be implemented to determine which player is eliminated:
1. If any of the tied players failed to submit a vote during the Tribal Council in question, they will be eliminated. If more than one tied player failed to vote, the player with the highest number of past self votes will be eliminated.
2. Any non-tied player who failed to submit a vote during the Tribal Council in question will be eliminated. In the event that this also results in a tie, the player with the highest number of past self votes will be eliminated.
3a. If the above does not apply and if the game has not yet reached the Final 6, all players not locked in the tie or immune will draw rocks. The player who receives a black rock will be eliminated.
3b. If the above does not apply and if the game has reached the Final 6, a tiebreaker challenge will take place. This will be further explained if and when it happens.

Twists:

[14]
Twists will be about as numerous and game-changing as all those Bat-gadgets on a certain utility belt. Think fast, or suffer a mild case of death.

Application
[01]
Username:
[02]
Do you consider yourself to be certifiably insane? Why or why not?
[03]
Arkham Asylum
requires participants to remain active. Will you uphold this requirement?
[04]
Have you competed in large, reality show games (Survivor, Big Brother, The Mole, Endurance, The List, Unanimous, etc.) before? If so, which ones?
[05]
In a game where anything can and does change, what would you consider a non-terrible strategy?
[06]
Please list five characters from Gotham City that you'd be interested in playing. Batman, Harley Quinn, and the Joker are not eligible choices.
Character 1:
Character 2:
Character 3:
Character 4:
Character 5:
[07]
Please provide a valid email address for the account creation. (It doesn't have to be one you actually use, although doing it that way may cause you difficulties should you lose your password.)
[08]
Which of the above rules explains my policy on NSFW content?

Disclaimer:

[15]
The moderating team is not responsible for any rage, violence, insanity, heart attacks, or jaywalking induced by this game. In the event that you start experiencing some of these symptoms, please begin praying to the God of your choice.

Game will start no earlier than June 6th.

Challenge 1: Summarize This

This was an individual challenge with a winner and a loser from each tribe. The winners were sent a PM detailing what their reward might be. The losers were given a penalty. This penalty was they could not vote in executions for an unspecified amount of time.

Handcuffs

Players entered a merge, only to find out there was a twist. Each player was randomly handcuffed to another player and only had one vote to use between them. Which forced them into having to vote together or having no vote whatsoever.
The pairs are:

Poison Ivy and Deadshot

Image Image
The Ventriloquist and Robin

Image Image
The Phantasm and Huntress

Image Image
Nightwing and The Riddler

Black Bat and Black Mask

Image Image
Two Face and Commissioner Gordon

Image Image
Alfred and Ace the Bat Hound

Image Image
Penguin and Scarecrow

Image Image
The Music Meister and Red Hood

Image Image
Catwoman and Batgirl

And joining our players we have:

Image Image
Scarface and Harvey Dent

Challenge 4: Password

So it turns out that Scarface and Harvey Dent were just the spectators having a bit of fun and messing with the players. What fun!

Challenge 4 was your basic game of password. And due to the handcuff twist, each pair was competing against the others for least amount of guesses. Huntress and The Phantasm won immunity.

Challenge 9: Rate the moron above you!

In this challenge each player was asked to rank all other players but themselves. And then each tribe was told to play specific players. But this had a twist, you wanted to choose the most mediocre players and the tribe in second place won immunity. So Pink won second place and got to take part in Purple's execution.

Challenge 10: Those who do not learn their history...

Remember how we said there'd be no trivia? Well, we kinda lied. This challenge was a voluntary challenge with trivia that was revealed before hand. If you won, potential idol. If you lost, definite death. If no one played, random death to someone and no idol for anyone.

Challenge 12: Jury Vote... in REVERSE!

Oh look, a returnee challenge. The deadlings were all given access to the challenge thread to plead their case for reentrance. The living players could talk with them as they wished. At the end of it, the players were asked to vote for who they wanted to bring back. The two highest voted deadlings were brought back.

Image Image

Red Hood and Ace were brought back. But there's more to it than that. Each of them were placed as heads of new tribes, which players then got to decide to join.

Challenge 13: No Noose is Good Noose

In this challenge the players were playing hangman. We mods came up with 3 words for them to guess with clues attached to each. Team Red Hood won sending Team Ace to Execution.

Ah but there's a twist. For this section of the game the winning team gets to choose the format of the execution. The choices they have are:

Standard Survivor TC:

Exactly what you think it is, nothing to see here.

Double vote:

Like a standard Survivor TC, except everyone gets two votes, and they can't use both on the same person.

Kingmaker:

Everyone gets a single vote. Whoever receives the most votes becomes king, and chooses that round's elimination. You may not vote for yourself.

Mafia:

PM's are completely shut down once the challenge ends. Instead, players vote in a public thread on who to eliminate. Vote changing is allowed, the TC ends after 24 hours or when someone gets a majority.

Oh, and if someone tries to vote no-lynch, Harley get to shoot them.

Red decided to send Green to a Kingmaker Execution.

Challenge 14: Crossing Word-Swords

In this challenge both tribes were given a crossword with various clues pertaining to Arkham, the DC universe, MS players and games, and the mods themselves. It was a live challenge in the fact that whomever finished the puzzle first won. It was a close race that came down to mere seconds, but Red won yet again. After some deliberation they decided to send green to a mafia execution.

Challenge 15:
Majority
Mob Rules!

In this challenge the players were asked a series of yes or no questions. After all answers were submitted, the players whose answers did not match majority were eliminated from the challenge. The tribe to have the last person standing, or the most alive on the last question wins. Red had 2 players still alive, therefore winning their third straight challenge in a row. They decided to send Green to a double vote execution.

Challenge 16: Timed Trivia
And Final Merge(Yes really, it is. Promise.)

Players were told that this was a live challenge, which it was. We announced final merge right before challenge.

Image Image Image Image Image Image
Image Image Image Image Image

In this challenge every 20 minutes(or sooner) players were given a trivia question that they had to answer. The person who answered last, regardless if they were right or not, was eliminated from the challenge. Anyone not answering was instantly eliminated. Last person standing wins.
The Phantasm won immunity, and they went off to a standard elimination. However they were warned that they should choose with caution who they eliminated, as that person has power over what kind of execution type they faced. The Execution types from the previous round were the options with one additional one.

Modified Big Brother:

Each of the top 2 placers in the challenge (publicly) nominate a person for elimination. They can't nominate each other, and they can't nominate the same guy. Once the two poor saps have been chosen, the rest of the tribe votes on which one to eliminate.

Challenge 17: 20 Questions

This challenge is sorta self explanatory in it's title. Players were asking yes or no questions to try to figure out the phrase we were thinking of. We were trying to get them to get Shark Repellent Bat Spray. However, only 3 people managed to come up with that in the 24 hours they were given.
The winner of immunity was Poison Ivy. Ra's al Ghul decided to send the living to a mafia execution.

Challenge 18: Tom Marvolo's Riddles

In a game with The Riddler, how can we NOT have a riddle challenge? The players were given 15 riddles to solve as best they could, the person with the most correct wins Immunity... Or they would have if Deadshot hadn't decided to send them to a Big Brother execution. Which meant both first and second place had Immunity and Nomination power.. These players were: Ace the Bat-Hound and Scarecrow.
