Nah, just need more practice and understand the heroes and the items. Probably the system also, like towerdive is quiet easy in DotA. As in here, DotA uses trees for map (which can be destroyed). Kinda neat.

I'd give match ID but apparently Dota 2 is broken

Edit: If you were watching my Clinkz or Sniper matches, do not replicate anything from those, they were lazy games.

Captains mode match after a day of losing all pick. Me and my buddy Cobes drafted and everything went well. You can really see what a Warlock allowed to get last hits can really do (AKA, why you should never make Warlock get wards and such.)

To be fair, bots don't help you out at all, and anti-mage isn't exactly the kind to 1v5 the enemy team unless it's 50 minutes in the game and he has had free farm.

Meepo, Invoker, Chen, Visage. Whatever you do, STAY AWAY from heroes like Skeleton King and Sniper, they are MUCH too difficult for newbies to play.

Sniper is actually a really bad beginner hero though, he requires a lot of gamesense and map + teamfight awareness to play

sorry. Stay away from all the heroes I just told you to play for now, or at least play them against bots before trying them in public.

The first hero I really enjoyed playing was Ursa, he doesn't take a lot of skill to play and helps you learn the basics of ganking from jungle, good positioning etc, I'd recommend him if you want to try ripping heads of with BEAR STRENGTH. I don't play any LoL, so I don't know how much transfers over, but you can't go wrong with a giant talking bear.

Other fun picks that don't take too much head scratching are Juggernaut, Luna, Tusk and Spirit Breaker. My personal favourites are Weaver and Troll Warlord if you want to try some different playstyles.

Sniper is my first (agi-carry) fat hero when I'm still a newbie. I think this hero is good starter for player who new for DotA. Maybe not for today meta.
I still remember when I'm newbie, people (around me) only use his ultimate skill for the last hit on enemies's hero until fat. Kinda funny.

I only can suggest, training is the best way. I like Lion, Ogre Magi, or Rubick as starter for newbie though. Especially Rubick. (You know, spell steal, to understand all active skills in DotA.)

I don't know why people said Skeleton King is good for starter. His ulti, eh? Nowadays people use skill 1 and 3 in war. Dunno if newbies can hold his mana.

Mind mentioning some League heroes you really like? Could find some equivalent ones.

I know Reck enjoyed Nature's Prophet, but I know my girlfriend who is new to the game has taken a liking to Windrunner.

I think any of the heroes in the "Limited Heroes" game mode are good to start with. That means: Bounty Hunter, Death Prophet, Dragon Knight, Drow Ranger, Juggernaut, Lich, Lion, Omniknight, Razor, Sand King, Skeleton King, Sniper, Sven, Tidehunter, Vengeful Spirit, Viper, Warlock, Windrunner, Witch Doctor
