Killing yourself = denying the enemy a kill.

You deny yourself like you deny last hits. It's like execution in League. It's always better than giving a kill.

Saki how does it compare to league

My limited knowledge of the game can give you this (limited) information.

Dota has: No Brush, The CC is Longer and Stronger, Altitude can sometimes block your view(most notably in middle lane river), AA animations are clunkier/longer, last hitting under tower is much more difficult, no summoner spells, no masteries or runes(well, there are runes but it's totally different), NO DRAGON!!!, Jungles aren't symmetrical, Towers are more touchy(they will hit you if you are the closest thing hitting them after the finish a creep and you have to hit an allied creep to make it stop), No ability power so pretty much all Intelligence heroes become supports or initiators, Barracks(inhibs in LoL) don't respawn, and the game winds up more slowly because you lose gold when you die.

I personally don't like some of the things that DotA has to offer, but it is a completely different experience and has a very steep learning curve(steeper than LoL's mostly facilitated by the counter-intuitive WC3 leftovers.) All I can really say is that you should give it a shot yourself and walk into it with an open mind.

Kind of an add on to Panzer, I would describe Dota as more complex than League, which just means you have a lot more to learn in that initial phase and makes it harder to master.

Using your examples, League has brush, while Dota has trees. Trees that can be interacted with through items and abilities and that people can juke through to escape dying. With trees you have to learn all the paths and stuff, while in league it's very obvious how brush works.

CC being longer and stronger is more of League compensating for casters being able to scale. In Dota, your caster type heroes don't do as much damage, and most are useful exclusively for their disables.

Animations being clunkier is because there is more there, with turn rate and such. Just a bit wierd to be described as "clunky" to me I guess.

Zero out of game influence. All out of game content that can be bought is cosmetic.

Going back to complexity thing, Dota doesn't have summoner spells, instead having active item abilities, which obviously it takes you a while to learn them all.

The laning phase is also more complex, with the addition of denying as well as the addition of stacking and pulling, which is where you pull lane creeps into the jungle.

So yeah, Dota is more complex, and sucks ass to get into, but once you learn it it's great in upper level play. You'll need friends to have any fun. League plays much better to the pick it up and play, which is mainly why it's so successful, but I personally find it falls flat in more competitive aspects.

Abaddon is OP hero.

Depends, I think. Abaddon can Aphotic Shield and Burrowed Time. I think it is very conditional situation when you want to deny yourself. In war, he can gives Aphotic to his teammate (he has Burrowed Time anyway) and Curse of Avernus to slow your enemy's movement and make your teammate faster (attack speed also for teammate).

Usually Abaddon makes Phase Boots. Usually can't catch him when run away.

I ever get killed by self-sacrifice Abaddon (I was support) in end of war. Nicely done.

Lord of Avernus is just annoying, pick Ancient Apparation against him cause AA's ult completely wrecks LoA. Nullifies his ultimate completely.

That's awesome. Spirit Breaker is definitely pickable in competitive play atm, he's seriously under rated.

Well, amazing game in Wild Card. I putted my items in Quantic also. Never expect it, but it is RattleSnake. Pretty dynamic play and nicely done.

(Why after Quantic won with Chaos Knight (+ Io), RattleSnake used CK in every game? )
