Personally hit 15. Might have hit 14 if not for getting trolled by Battle.net tonight when I was on a win streak and getting DC'd for a loss. Played 118 games, went 60-58 (.508 win percentage) in games that I actually got to play. Had quite a few situations where either the internet or the client trolled me and DC'd me before the game even started.

So I pulled ysera out of a pack and have been playing with her because I needed her, ya know. But then I just swapped Kel'Thuzad into my druid deck and OMG HE IS AMAZING. Does a really fun combo with Force of nature too. If you trade them all (ie if they die before the end of the turn) they resummon.

Kel'Thuzad is my new favourite card.

This question will always come down to what $20 is to you. For me it was worth it (you'll actually get better cards than if you spent that $20 on packs, I'd say), but I enjoyed the characters, the changes, but still haven't done heroics.

It's a boring answer but...if you look up on youtube or wikia or whatever what Naxx is and go "Sounds like turdburgers", then it's not worth it. If you're asking if it's well crafted, yeah it is. Is $20 the price point I'd like to see on it....no, it's a little high. But I aint grinding that gold.

Sunwalkers are amazing and definitely worth the craft cost. One of my favourite drops guaranteed to pull some hard removal before you drop your 8 mana legendary. Illidan has the problem of being a very "win more" card. 2/1s are going to do shit if you're behind, but if you're ahead in both board position and card advantage they'll keep you there day after day.

So...I've been playing a lot of card games at the moment (mostly Netrunner and Hearthstone) and I'm really starting to enjoy hearthstone less and less. I just feel like there are a lot of cards that don't have counterplay. My current piece of shit card is Alexstraza. I can be winning and in a good position and my opponent does 15 damage to me and drops an 8/8 on the board for 9 mana. A couple of games in a row this has just completely fucked my tempo. I don't feel like there's any counterplay because even if I hex/SW:D/Poly whatever the minion, I've still just taken a full fifteen damage and been forced to use hard removal for 9 mana!

I like the game, I do, I just feel like sometimes my opponents can affect me without my having any significant ability to react to it. (SEE ALSO: MIND CONTROL!)

Be aware that the ranked system resets every month. when it resets you may end up as a brand new level 20 or something vsing a guy that is super pro with his legend deck. Just play though that :)

I enjoy it, but it's very light on, I would also use the 100g/pack gating system to allow you to become familiar with new cards rather than just buying 60 packs straight up.

In post 2118, Glork wrote:Power creep will always exist,

Yes and no. Power creep happens when you design for "better" instead of "different". It doesn't have to happen, I rave about Netrunner as a game that avoided power creep throughout the term that I played it, over several new set releases.
Spoiler: Me raving about Netrunner
Kati Jones was this card that was released as an "OMG OP" and was expected to outpace other cards, but it never happened because it was just a slow card, and allowed all these aggro Corp decks that never really succeeded to overtake any Runner using Kati at any stage in the game (sidenote: it also made cards that attack Runner resources INCREDIBLY prevalent and added this huge play/counterplay into runner economy). This is because Kati isn't a strictly better card, she's different. She's slower, higher opportunity cost, with a higher reward. Compared to the two other neutral Runner econ cards: Sure Gamble, and Lucky Find, she's such a different play. The math is where this gets interesting though! Right at the end of it all: Lucky Find gets you 9 Credits for a 2 click, 3 credit investment - Net gain of 4 Credits. Sure Gamble is 9 credits for a 5 credit, 1 click investment - Net gain of 3 Credits. You spend half of your turn on Lucky Find, but you net that extra credit. That's a resource drop, but it's nice. And Kati is a little crazy cause of how you can stack on her, but basically for 2 credits, and five clicks, she gives 12 credits - Net gain of 5 credits, but comes over four turns instead of right away, and can be targeted at this time. But if she gets to five turns instead of four turns it's a net gain of 7 credits. At six turns, it's 9 credits. At seven turns she's a net swing of 11 FUCKING CREDITS. That's HUGE for a single card. AND she's still on the board (pawnshop OP).

Kati became a risk/reward card, and got left out of a LOT of decks. This is how you add more options without adding more POWER. Kati is super strong, super awesome, unless your opponent pressures you in ANY way. That is an awesome new card that changes not only one strategy, or one deck, but the metagame.

Power creep happens more in Blizzard games than any other because power creep happens when you balance UP, which is Blizzard's mantra. One of their devs once said at a GDC or something that if Blizzard finds something is overpowered, they don't nerf it, they buff other stuff to bring that big OP thing back into line. This is because they don't want their players to feel like their toys are being taken away. The problem with this plan (and it's been great in WoW) is that when something like Boom drops, or any of those GvG cards which are + or ++ versions of existing base cards for the same mana cost (it's been a while since I played, but War Golem gets spoken about a lot, I mean, even Spider Tank is a 3/4 Mech for 3 which is nutbags). When that happens, and you're determined to balance up, you have two options: Go back and readjust all your old cards to be competitive with this new card you've created, OR release new cards to combat the powerful card by being powerful themselves. And only one of those choices allows the developers to monetize. You've got two War Golem, so you're not paying for it when they balance it up to an 8/8 body for 7. Instead they release an 8/8 war golem, give it a powerful battlecry, and call it Dr Boom. Then suddenly EVERYONE needs the new card to combat the slightly less new card, so everyone needs to buy packs, because we're balancing up.

Balancing up leads to power creep. Power creep happens A LOT, but that doesn't mean it's inevitable. I think the "Power creep will always exist" bit isn't entirely true. It's just part of Blizzard's development strategy.
