M$ lets you use them, they should to. Why should I not get a month free? I have been a loyal subscriber for years..
It didn't give me any issue to use them...Are you sure? I bought one of the on-sale year cards today and it just let me add it on to my existing time.

Kh metaplot has always been a convoluted mess, IMO. The Disney aspects worked okay in KH1, but don't feel like they fit at all past that.
