Anybody else having trouble getting into GOG today? From the few pages I can load I suspect they're having some sort of massive sale, so maybe they're just slashdotted...

I really like L4D2, but it's hard to find players who aren't either totally new/awful or experts who take the game way too seriously - anyone here play regularly?

I used to play semi-regularly, but also only on Xbox. If my PoS computer could actually run L4D2 I'd play it occasionally.

I played some L4D, but only locally with a friend and the AI. Never played L4D2, or played with a full roster of humans, but I'd be happy to try it, assuming I can actually access the Valve servers sometime today.

Anyone having trouble with the PS4 controller's analog stick? Been using one for less than 2 weeks and it's already showing signs of wear. It's ridiculous that these things should be wearing out this early when I've had controllers on the PS3 that have lasted years without any visible signs of wear in the analog sticks.

Mind you it's not actually cracked through yet and I read somewhere where a guy said that on his the crack basically wore away. (That would mean it might go away over time but I'm not sure that's actually GOOD.) The things do have a year warranty, but in the end I will probably end up putting my own plastic nubs on the things because it will drive me crazy otherwise.

I got my 3DS for Christmas yesterday. Obviously, if you like Nintendo games, go with the 3DS. In terms of software, there is no comparison. 3DS has:

Ocarina of Time 3D
Zelda: Link Between Worlds
Mario 3D World
Pokemon X & Y
Fire Emblem
Animal Crossing
Luigi's Mansion
Mario & Luigi

Plus you have access to the substantial and gem-filled DS corpus, including more Zeldas, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, tons of JRPGs, etc.

the vita is a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful piece of hardware with absolutely no software support for it at all - will be worth if people find ways to break it to bits like they did with the PSP, until then it could be renamed the persona 4 box and nobody would really know the difference

the 3ds is a piece of hardware with the same design flaws nintendo's had since the original ds (with the exception of the ds lite) - shoddy d-pad, a touchscreen that requires a stylus (what is this, the early 00's?) instead of finger-touch, an analog stick that seems like it was designed by someone with only a vague idea of how fingers work, a lack of discrete brightness controls outside of the system menu, etc. - but unlike the vita it actually has games for it

choose wisely!
