I think it's seriously naive to expect that people will give them up because people who don't have jokers feel it's the right thing to do. You realise the more people say "How stupid we're being" the more people are likely to dig their heels in.

1 right answer could be the difference, sure? Is it *likely*, I've no idea. It's certainly not as implausible as you're making it out. There are plenty of opportunities to win money over the course of the game that won't demand people give up jokers.
