As Arafax is wrapping up his overnight shift, he jumps into his squad car one last time to drive home. Unfortunately, because he was tired, he did not notice the figure in his back seat. As he felt the wetness of the chloroform against his nose and mouth, he thought to himself, "Why me, why tonight?" He woke up in the middle of an abandoned field with a blindfold over his eyes. He tried to yell for help, but he was stifled by the gag in his mouth. A raspy voice stated firmly, "We gave you the opportunity to enroll in our life insurance program, but you thought you were too good for us, well now we're going to make an example of you for the others." A single, silent shot terminates Arafax's life.

With the threat of a deadline over their heads, the town finally set their sights on Ancalagon. As they drag him to the gallows, he proclaims his innocence, "I'm a vanilla townie!" The town replies, "If you're a townie, why haven't you been participating in our town meetings?" Ancalagon stutters and mumbles a few incomprehensible words, and the town shouts back, "That's what we thought! No good excuse, you MUST be scum!" They slip the noose around his neck, and pull the lever to drop the floor from under his feet. After a minute of struggling, his body finally stays limp.

As omg_im_innocent_wtf leaves the hospital for the day, he thinks to himself, "Well, at least I was able to save half my patients today!" "Too bad you can't save yourself!", a figure hisses as it emerges from the shadows. "We just wanted you to do one favor for us, but no, you had to play 'Mr. Nice Guy' and refuse." "Well now it's time for us to do this world a favor." A single shot from the .38 pistol is enough to end the life of the town doctor.

After Barromán decided to stop participating, and the mod took a sabbatical, the town decided they would lynch Barromán rather than the mod, because lynching the mod would mean dire consequences. Barromán would've said something completely unuseful and trite, but he didn't even make an attempt to speak out for himself. Consequently, he was lynched without even a peep emitting from his mouth!

After the meeting at the local lodge, kilmenator was happy with the progress of the town's plan to eradicate the Mafia. Unfortunately, she was a little too happy, because she didn't notice the dark, ominous figure slip from out of the shadows. She gasped as she felt a belt tighten around her neck. "We won't be eradicated so easily!" the voice hisses. After a couple minutes of struggling, kilmenator finally falls to the ground, limp as a rag doll. "See what happens when you mess with the Mafia", the voice hissed again. "Wait until we discover who your partners are." "Then this town will really know who's in charge!" The figure slips back into the shadow as the sun rises on a slightly smaller town.

After ac1983fan concedes his defeat, the rest of the town gathers around him and decides he must be the lynch for today. A restless town wonders why any of them are still alive!? With 3 members of the Mafia total, that means that they should be able to take over the town now! Maybe the town has another power role? Maybe the mod is just covering his bases? Either case as MeMe is walking home, she is distracted by these nagging thoughts, and thus, fails to notice the shadowy figures step out of the alley. One of them circles around to her front, while the other stays close behind her. "Not only are we going to prevent you from going anywhere tonight, we're going to make sure you don't go anywhere for a LONG time!", the figure looming over her hisses. As she struggles to no avail, the sound of a gun shot ends her life.

As Elias, hand banana, Javert, & Nocmen stand over MeMe's body the next morning, they all look at each other suspiciously. Finally, Nocmen speaks up and says, "Everybody knows I'm innocent, so I'll speak on behalf of the town. If we give up, will the Mafia at least let us leave town peacefully?" "NEVER!", Elias shouts, as he draws his weapon in a split second and guns Nocmen down. "W-wait a m-m-minute!" Javert stutters. "T-that m-m-means I've b-been r-r-right all along." The sun catches the piece that hand banana draws, and blinds Javert for just a split second. Just long enough for a hole to appear in his head, and his body to slump to the ground.

oh, i did want to say one thing... if you guys had lynched Elias first, then the town would've almost been guaranteed a win... the kill choice would've deferred to HB, and ac1983 could've blocked HB again, thus resulting in a no-kill... w/ 5 players left & 1 scum, you could've mislynched ac1983 (4 players), HB would most likely kill Nocmen (3 players), and you would've had another day to lynch HB... the way the game seemed to have been going, w/ ac1983 cleared, HB would've seemed the most suspicious... but that's just my thoughts...

in retrospect, i should've made the insane cop either paranoid or naive, but that's the only change i would make... w/ a 50% doc & backup (who collectively would've only successfully protected 2 out of 7 nights {i randomized it before the game even started}) & a Mafia RB, i don't think so...

i wanted to respond to this...

i sent a PM to both Elias & HB telling them that if Elias wasn't able to pick up his PM, then i would allow HB to make both choices, but that if Elias was able to pick up his PM, HB would only be able to make 1 choice... since Elias did pick up his PM, i only allowed HB to make 1 choice, the kill... i counted Elias RB choice as a no-choice... for further clarification see the Night Choices post, or if you have any further ?, feel free to post them in-thread or PM them to me...

you also had time to send HB a short PM, and make a short post to another thread... a discussion over whether my decision was "right" or "wrong", i think would be pointless, so i want to nip it in the bud, but i also wanted to present all the facts that i used to make my decision... i hope there aren't any hard feelings, as there aren't any on my end...

I think the town had too much power 'on the surface'. There is no way any reasonable town would possibly believe they could have

that

much claimed power (i.e. 2 Cops, 1 Doc, 1 Back-Up Doc, 1 Role-Blocker, 2 Guaranteed Innocent Masons).

I am also not a fan of deceitful roles (50% Doc, for example) in Mini Regular Games - when I sign up to play a Mini Regular game, I want a

simple

set-up, and I often expect a good amount of Townies. Two Mafiates with powers (a Godfather and a Role-Blocker) definitely make me think this town as a whole was two power-packed... there were only

three

vanilla roles (the two townies and the mafia goon). Games similar to this I think you might as well add flavor and toss it in the Mini Theme Section, where it would be generally more expected that the Mafia would have powers in order to be able to step up to the town, and expected that the town roles are likely weaker than they claim to be.

my first mini had the same ratio... 7 out of the 9 non-Mafia players had "power" roles (1 SK, 1 Vig, 2 Cops, 2 Docs, 1 RB)... of course some of those were "deceitful" roles (Placebo Doc), and i think Naive & Paranoid Cops would fall under the "deceitful" title as well as they provide the town no information & can be fake-claimed easily... i think my games may be better off themed as well... but do you think a setup similar to this game & my first mini would fare well as a Mini Theme?..

well i wasn't going to say anything, but since the cat is out of the bag, i did a similar setup at Thespival... i don't know, maybe "vanilla-less" setups are my schtick...
