OMG.
I played Pala in arena and I got 10 creatures with spell power in the pool and the only cards that dealt damage that I got were : 1 consecration, 1 Hammer of Wrath.
Why arena why?
+ I got like 7 pirates plus the Southsea captain (+1/+1 to all other pirates) and no weapons.
+ I got 5 Murlocs. Most of them rare, but they weren't worth it.
+ I got 3 Argent Commanders and 1 Avenging Wrath, 1 defender of argus and 1 Secretkeeper and 3 secrets in the entire pool.

First game against Warlock: Everything is going well. Then he plays Ragnaros, Lord of the Arena, Voidwalker, Doomguard. Really? I don't even get 1 legendary and he gets Ragnaros.

You picked murlocs. And pirates. What were you thinking? You had other picks, that weren't part of a "get everything in this set to be useful" set. Don't blame rag. And don't take stuff that's reliant on combos in arena, unless you've already got the rest of the combo.

I mean, taking one of murlocs or pirates is usually foolhardy but both... wow.

It's not hard to live to late game if you have a lot of 3/2 2drops.


Also pirates seem really strong to me if you can get a bunch of them. I've taken pirate cards independently simply due to stats.

All pirates are either bad or very reliant on weapons to be useful.

The 3/3 with taunt for 4 really wants a weapon or it's too expensive. Good in maybe warrior if you get a fiery war axe, or deadly poison rogue, otherwise nope.
Same for the 2/1 with charge if you've a weapon - 2/1 is really weak unless you have mitigating factors like charge, stealth or not actually being on the board until the enemy attacks. Even then, it's just a 2 damage hope you trade 1 for 1.
The 2/3 with +attack for weapon attack is okay without weapons, and does combo pretty well with weapons, so okay.
The 1/2 that removes enemy durability - not as good as ooze. And ooze is actually common.
The captain... isn't great without a bunch of other pirates. And it's an epic. If you've an epic, you should get a good card at least.
Greenskin, again, needs weapons. His ability is really cool with weapons.

About mages, the mage cannot take all of these three things.
1) A bunch of flamestrikes
2) Low-cost delay spells/minions.
3) A bunch of big minions.

If they do put out all these things, then their deck is risky, they don't have many low cost spells/minions and they just got lucky on you.

Hmm, that said, polymorph/fireball do deal with bigguns pretty well, so they don't need big minions... IDK

The battlenet server where your battletag is stored is only one. Hearthstone uses that server.
One of my friends made an account for NA and I made my account for Europe and we were allowed to duel.

I suggest more things like a Razorfen Hunter or Murloc tidecaller that come with more than one body. Bloodlust is practically: Win the game if you have at least 3 creatures on the board.

Bloodlust is very much an aggro or arena card. Don't run it in control.

More stormforged axe. More knife juggler. More azure drake... Oh, yeah.

Oh god, I can't tell whether that's an aggro deck or a control deck. Eh, midrange?

Yeah I just threw it together quickly. I kind of hold early game with one or two threats and some burn and then go balls out mid game to win in 2-3 turns.

I have the worst epic luck, 3 epics in my arena deck, and they all sucked (though the secrets I took have won me games so).

Say you got lucky and managed 3-4 flamestrikes.

That's still 26 cards to play with, in which you'd have a bunch of low mana, a few bigger minions, and then other control cards. Mage is mainly about countering, and if you can neutralize their big minions/combos, then you can win most of the time.

Flamestrike is a 7 mana card.

If you have 4 flamestrikes, and 4/5 6+ mana minions, you are leaving a dangerous amount of room for your earlygame to get screwed over.

Not that the people you stomp are gonna care.

Raging Worgen is usually dead so it's pretty bad.
Ironfur Grizzly is okay but I wouldn't take it unless the other two options just sucked ass.
I don't think there's a card I'd take Secret Keeper over in the game. Except Alarm-O-Bot. Fuck that card.
Repentance and Redemption are both really bad.
Ironbeak Owl really is okay but might've been overkill since you have two Spellbreakers.
Murloc Tidehunter is never the right pick unless your other two options were like... Wisp & Goldshire Footman.

played against 2 mages so got to deal with a bunch of good creatures and flamestrike and fireballs and oh of course a big game hunter for when i try to stabilize with an 8/8 taunt dude since you can already kill everything else easily already

All the cards you guys mentioned are bad, cause that's what arena gave me. I don't remember exactly what the other cards were, but I can tell you they were pretty bad.
For Secretkeeper (first pick) I remember I had to choose between the murloc that gives +2 health to other murlocs as battlecry and the 4/5 giant that can't attack.
I spent 3 minutes thinking what I should pick. I went with secret keeper cause Paladin has secrets and they are cheap and she can be useful sometimes.

I mean coldlight seer is probably the best of the bunch. ancient watch is pretty great with sunfurys and argus'(and silences!) but you cant depend on getting those.

I didn't pick the secrets because they are good. I picked them because I had other useless things. One had Holy Light, Redemption and Wisp. I don't try to pick useless cards, but sometimes I'm forced to do it. The next time I'll start an arena run I'll post my pool and what I've picked.

Mind Control Tech/Auctioneer/Mana Addict as my choices both times

The only decent Rare or higher I got was one Avenging Wrath the second go around

I had Imp Master both times as my "best" rare. ugh i hate this damn game sometimes
