It's not a negative for Agricola at all in my eyes, but it is a different experience which some people might or might not prefer.

I think Pandemic also has quarterbacking issues, so Forbidden Island being a lite version of that only means it is worse. I own it, and when I played it with my friends the first time, one not only easily grasped the rules, he took over in directing decisions and such.

It's a son of a gun to find, and maybe they'll kickstart for another printing, but if you're a fan of 7 Wonders you should really try Among the Stars by Artipia Games.

Or, just play a lot of Race for the Galaxy.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

I feel with Forbidden Island, you can pretty much play by yourself with 4 characters and have the exact same outcome as with 4 people playing, especially with it being much simpler than Pandemic. All in all, not a big fan of either, but a round of each once in a while is cool.
Picked up Arkham Horror today. Took 2 hours learning all of the rules. I can't wait to play!

Agricola is ok.
Has anyone played
Eclipse?
Played this for the first time this week. Was pretty fun I thought although we all played pretty passive since it was everyones first time.

I recommend it?
The first play through will be a lot of rules reading and slowness, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit.
And I don't think the rules are really THAT difficult either, the game flows pretty well once you get into it.

Got
Myth
(Kickstarter game, not officially released yet)
Haven't had this much fun with a board game in forever. Definitely in my top 5 so far just from completing one story mission.
Here's a decent review of it:

Flawless?
Go find the "Slide" token real quick for me. You know, it's the arbitrarily-shaped black token with white lettering. Should be pretty easy to find.
But I will not deny that this is a major revelation and a pinnacle of BAHOTHology

And that one scenario where the investigators have no way to win (no really, there's no conditions for victory).

And there's approximately a one in fifty chance that it will occur, less still that you will also be the one screwed.

Meh, given it's betrayal, there's a 1 in 3 chance the scenario is an instant-win for one side or the other when it's drawn.
It's a decent game, but not exactly flawless. It's really badly in need of a second edition.

It's one of the only games I can play purely for the flavor and role playing and enjoy despite the bad mechanics.
