Survivor: Hogwarts: GAME OVER
{Snakes, Betch and CuddlyCaucasian present}:
Welcome to Survivor: Hogwarts! I am looking for 24 witches and wizards to enroll in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Each round, these players will expel one of their own until only one remains to claim the title of Sole Survivor.
{ GENERAL RULES }
This is a game. The main objective is to have fun; so no excessive flaming, spamming, or submission of anything else prohibited within the MS forums.{01}
This is a game. The secondary objective is to win. Regardless of how amusing you think it may be, do not join merely to troll the other players.{02}
We are not infallible, so if any of the moderating team makes a mistake, please point it out and we will correct it if needed.{03}
We have worked extensively to produce a game that is enjoyed by all involved. As such, we promise to offer each player respect but expect to be shown the same in return.{04}
Survivor: Hogwarts is{05}. All participants are strictly prohibited from so much as hinting to their own identities or implying another player's mafiascum identity. If you are talking with other scummers outside of this forum, you must not state or imply that you are playing in this game. Communication outside the private message system is also forbidden until otherwise stated. Failure to follow this rule can result in a variety of consequences ranging from a terse warning to one's elimination from the game. We reserve the right to determine the severity of possible infractions.ANONYMOUS
You are allowed to speculate on the identities of other players in your confessional. However, making game decisions based on who you believe characters to be is{06}highlydiscouraged.
Exercise common sense. If you are unsure as to whether an action conflicts with the rules, ask. Yes, this is a competition, but do not attempt to undermine challenges or game mechanics for your own gain. This violates both the spirit of the game and common respect mentioned above.{07}
Private communication with players outside of your tribe or eliminated players is strictly prohibited. Any player found in violation of this rule will be penalized.{08}
Any and all posting about this game outside the provided forums unless SPECIFICALLY STATED is illegal.{09}
The posting of Private Messages (whether via text (paraphrasing is fine) or via image) in a public forum is explicitly disallowed. You may, however, post them in your confessional. You are also prohibited from taking a screenshot of private messages and showing them to other players. Forwarding is allowed.{10}
The moderators may discipline any player that breaks the rules however we see fit, depending on the specific situation. We also reserve the right to implement new rules if needed.{11}
{GAME MECHANICS}
PM's are only to be used for communication within your tribe. All out-of-tribe contact is to be confined to challenge threads, classes and general discussion.{01}
Immunity Challenges:
Every round will possess an Immunity Challenge. Winners of the Immunity Challenge will be safe from elimination that round and cannot be voted out at the Expulsion Ceremony.{02}
The outcomes of all Challenges are final. That said, however, be sure to keep Rule 03 of General Rules in mind.{03}
We appreciate the fact that prospective contestants will enter this game with a range of skills. With this in mind, understand that we as mods can't cater to all players' needs and time constraints in challenges.{04}
Expulsion Ceremony:
Expulsion Ceremony is where players are eliminated. Before the merge, only the losing tribe or tribes will visit EC, and will vote one player off. After the merge, all remaining players will go to EC, including immunity challenge winners.{05}
Before the merge, each Expulsion Ceremony will follow the Survivor format. After the merge, rounds will alternate between Survivor and Big Brother.{06}
Expulsion Ceremonies will last twenty-four hours from the end of the challenge. If a player fails to submit a vote within the given time frame, they will receive a selfvote. In the event that a player knows he or she will be unable to vote by deadline, that player may notify the moderators and cast a conditional vote to avoid penalization.{07}
The results of Expulsion Ceremonies may be posted before deadline if and only if all persons involved have submitted a vote.{08}
The modification of votes after they have been submitted is allowed. Players are able to change their votes as many times as they want until the Expulsion Ceremony is posted. However, keep in mind that the Expulsion Ceremony may be posted early if all players have voted.{09}
If a player has failed to vote three times, the mods may choose to eliminate him or her at their discretion.{10}
The outcomes of Expulsion Ceremonies are final.{11}
Questions concerning ties in the Expulsion Ceremony may be found below:{12}
Spoiler: Breaking Ties
Twists:
Twists will be implemented without warning or provocation throughout the game. The time and setting of each twist has already been determined, so as to neither give an unfair advantage or disadvantage to a player or group of players.{13}Last edited by Dumbledore on Tue Jul 29, 2014 11:35 am, edited 7 times in total.- Dumbledore

The game is now full with 24 applicants. However, signups will still continue until 6 PM EST this Saturday to accommodate for any players who haven't had a chance to apply. Remember, slots in the game are not first come first serve, so everyone still has a fair chance to be selected until signups close.
PMs will go out after all permissions and avatars have been finalized. Thank you to everyone who applied.- Dumbledore

Upon arriving, the players were hit by a twist. In addition to their houses, they were assigned a secret class, made up of one player from each house. They were allowed to talk to their classmates.
At the immunity challenge, the houses competed in theWelcoming Feastchallenge. They were tasked with matching their tribemates to a list of adjectives, with the tribe getting the most matches winning immunity. To make things interesting, they weren't allowed to talk with their tribemates. In the end,Slytherin, finished in first place with 19 points, winning immunity.GryffindorandHufflepufftied for second, withHufflepuffwinning the tiebreaker and the final tribal immunity.
This means thatGryffindorandRavenclawwill each head to their own Expulsion Ceremony. Who will be the first player voted out ofSurvivor: Hogwarts?

The players were hit with a twist. They found out that each round they would earn galleons based on how well they did in the game. With those galleons, they could buy special items, ranging from very weak to strong.
The houses then competed inPuzzling Portraits. They were given 20 altered photos of players in the game, and had to correctly match them to the player they were originally of.Gryffindorwon immunity with a perfect score of 40 points.Hufflepuffalso won immunity with 37 points.
This means thatRavenclaw, with 36 points will be going to their second Expulsion Ceremony.Slytherincame in last place with only 19 points and will also go to an Expulsion Ceremony.

The houses then competed inWizard Chess. They assigned a different number of Hit Points to each player and then attacked the other tribes. To make things interesting, each player could only attack one player at a time, and they were allowed to privately communicate.Hufflepuffwas headed to their first Expulsion Ceremony after all the other tribes ganged up against them. After Hufflepuff was eliminated,Slytherinwas eliminated next.
This means thatRavenclawandGryffindorhave won immunity and will not have to attend the Expulsion Ceremony.

After three rounds in their original houses, the players were hit with a tribe swap. It was time for the Triwizard Tournament, and the players were swapped into three different schools of 6.

For their first immunity challenge in their new tribes, the players competed in theSphinx's Mazechallenge. They were given a series of 6 difficult puzzles and had to solve all of them in the quickest time. After a grueling 1 hour 57 minute challenge,Durmstrangbarely edged outHogwartsfor first place by 24 seconds.
This means thatBeauxbatonswill be the only tribe headed to the Expulsion Ceremony. Who will be the first player voted out after the swap?

Congratulations to Fenrir, the winner of Survivor: Hogwarts
I want to thank everyone for playing. This was a really fun game to mod and I'm really glad that everyone had a good time. I'm really happy with how smoothly it ran. With the exception of a few less active players, I enjoyed everyone who played, and they all brought something to this game.
Congratulations to Fenrir, aka Save The Dragons. You played a great game and make a very deserving winner. I hope you stick around and play some more games. DV, you played very well too and would have been a great winner too if you had won.
Finally, thank you to CC and Betch. You were both fantastic mods and it was great having you. I was really worried a couple of weeks before the game started when there were no other mods. I was thinking about postponing this game, but luckily you two joined and did a great job, especially with so little planning. Betch, thank you for the great avatars and graphics. TBO, thank you for helping me plan out the challenges and the twists. I hope you're okay. Blastoide, thank you for making the board. It looks beautiful.
To everyone: what challenge was your favorite? Least favorite? What twists did you like? And how would you rate this game on a scale of 1-10?

That Hogwarts Tribal Council was pretty intense. Hats off to Fenrir for managing to single highhandedly eliminating 16 other players in one round, while not even being on the tribe!
This game was super fun to host. You were all wonderful players and congratulations to Save the Dragons for the well deserved win! What a social beast you are. And great game to DV as well, you were from the start a constant favorite of mine. I hope you all had as much fun as I did hosting cause you're all amazing. Thank you guys so much for playing. And thanks to Snakes and CC for asking me to host. Great mods, fun summer. So much fun guys! <33
Also, I have a better edgic that I have been working on that I will be posting later today or tomorrow once I just finish up the last couple of rounds. The one linked above is the one I started on, then gave up cause I got distracted with nothing really important.- xofelf

Thank you all so much Thank you mods for putting so much effort into this game, it was the best I've ever played. I barely remember any that I've done in the past, and I think I may remember this one for a long time (even had I not won).
I'm so excited to read confessionals and stuff! I've barely started but I've got nothing better to do then kick back a beer and see what was really going on. So excited.
It's nice to use capital letters again. Not sure why I bothered, no one was going to figure me out anyway But now I'm so used to it when I see that purple background.
DV, you were amazing. Well played. I'm still shocked the votes went as they did.
Cephrir looks like you've already won before. I thought I had a good chance against you but I'm sure I would have lost to you. Tip of the hat and I'm so glad I got to play with you, you helped me so much in that game, I really couldn't have won without you.
Tonks wrote:I dunno, I mean I know people who've won and they seem to still enjoy going at it,
Mist I'm so sorry I voted you out twice. You really were a joy to talk to and it hurt both times.
KA I loved your personality. I don't know if that's you or Madame Hooch or a combination of both but don't ever change <3
Klick I wish my torchwalk entry for you was better but I seriously thought you were masterminding that F5 lol. I even toned down my opening speech, it was even sassier. Feel like an idiot now. I really enjoyed playing with you.
Deathnote,*handshake**pawshake* I almost got 3rd because you played a tremendous game. I thought I had lost when we were talking about that challenge.
PrivateI, very sorry you left when you did, I really enjoyed talking to you, I took no great pleasure in voting you out. I thought you could take this game though, and that influenced my decision.
Thanks, xofelf! It was great to play with you and talk with you. I'm sorry we were never on the same side.
I mentioned you all in my torchwalk so I'll try not to clutter this thread anymore with more of the same.
Skype me! PM me if you want my skype name (it's my real name so I'm not going to be pasting that for all the internet to see), or I'm going to start hunting you all down. I have ways.- xofelf

Lol, it was all good. You still talked with me when you didn't have to. Not a whole lot of people still PM if they have no intentions of working with someone. So that was really great.
Also, when will MS get a skype button for IM options? So many people use it now.
But for those who don't have me already and wanna chat, my skype is xofelf.Xalxe: this is xofelf sometimes we call each other names and other times we share emotions

Wait, Fenrir using lowercase letters was an act? That's the most surprising reveal of the whole game.
Great game, mods, players, etc. Definitely the most fun I've had playing a Survivor game. I'm sure I'll read the confessionals in a couple months once I'm sure my self-esteem can handle it. I apologize for any of the potential nastiness within my own. You were all fantastic. <3 - Crazy
