I read on some arma modding sites that ArmaIII is the way of the future for the franchise and modders have already started the transition. So I'm sorta weary of buying arma II atm.

I bought Final Fantasy VIII on the Steam Sale, in a fit of nostalgia. But now I'm wary of actually starting a game, since I'm remembering how much time I spent grinding in that game as a kid. Not sure if I'm ever going to play it or if it's just a Steam sale bin game.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

Square's cloud save feature for the Final Fantasy games on the PC is actually neat. We lost a lot of our game saves when our old sandisk solid state drive decided it didn't like working correctly anymore, but my FF7 game where I just crossed the ocean from Junon survived it all due to the power of the cloud. I actually had 7 from the square store, but bought the steam version of 7 and 8 because square doesn't let you redownload the game from their own store for really dumb reasons. (And my surviving install file download got corrupted.) They were just over 4 dollars each so no big deal.

Rogue Legacy is an awesome game and my favorite so far of what I've bought. It's like so many games at different times: Spelunky, Dark Souls, bullet hell, etc. I love it.

Rogue Legacy is great, yeah. Super fun game even if some of the extra bosses are huge dicks (ALEXANDER. DIE.)

For some reason I struggle a lot to get to the flagship. I've only managed it once, even on easy.

FTL is hard. The first time I got to the flagship (which was actually my third playthrough i think?), I got obliterated in the first round. On easy.

My advice for the flagship is boarding parties, rockets, and high evasion. All of the rocket/weapon rooms on the flagship are isolated rooms on the sides that nobody but their assigned gunners can access. If you have proper crewmembers that can board ships, you can slowly teleport two soldiers at a time into each of the rocket rooms, killing the gunners and then destroying the weapon in the room. Focus on the two rooms adjacent to the pilot, those two I believe are the strongest and deadliest. All the while, make sure you have high evasion and at least a three-layered shield so you can withstand the rockets and lasers. If you have the Federation Cruiser, all you have to do really is keep boarding the ship, killing the gunners, and waiting for the beam to strike. Eventually the beam will kill the ship in about 3 or 4 hits.

That pretty much works for the first two stages of the flagship. The last one is very hard because of the mind control, the flagship will start to brainwash your crewmembers in addition to sending landing drones. Basically you need defense drones to shoot down the landers, and you have to focus your rockets and fire on the mind control panel of the ship to keep your crewmembers healthy. Bombs are pretty effective as well, such as fire bombs and emp bombs, since they bypass shields. You can teleport them into vital rooms like mind control or shields to give yourself a window to barrage. A well timed emp bomb on the flagships shields for example lets you rain all your lasers and rockets for a short period of time without having to worry about shields.

One thing I learned the hard way is to never kill off all of the crewmembers on the flagship. If you do that then a very aggressive AI takes over. The ship will become way more self-sufficient and aggressive, making it much harder.
I swear I'm trying my best
