I hold no opinion on vanilla server coming back or not. Does t matter to me.

Im posting because i feel compelled to say it shouldnt take much time from m and i, and we're already paying for the server space anyway.

Although, from what i see so far, it seems to be a negative response to vanilla so..

the reason nilla is so boring is that we don't have a sense of community do we?

I propose we do what the mind crackers are doing. that is start out with a smallish world border and have it increase about 6 or 7 or 8 blocks a day. it compels teamwork and community. and more peeps would want to comeback to help in projects.

any thoughts?

Another consideration is accidents that could be prevented with some kind of protection... I'm thinking about certain people who have a knack for dying, sometimes near structures and in ways [read: Creeper] that fuck up other people's shit.

mafiascum minecraft servers update - yey!

VANILLA:

I'm not sure what anyone else (Maestro/Maruchan/Klaz/?) may be doing, but I'm just going to go ahead and put Vanilla 1.8 on one of the 3 servers I already have. It will be live tonight, and I'll update this post with the IP as well as put the information on the blog.

M/Klaz - I'm gonna need a copy of the whitelist, if you have it?

I am nearly finished with the pack and this will also go live tonight to begin testing. I would like to finalize everything by next weekend. Details will be edited into this post as well as posted on the blog.

Please please please send me PMs with your username/questions/concerns. I can't do things right if you don't tell me what you want. Also, PMs go directly to my email so my phone goes off when it happens - I'm reachable nearly all day/all night unless I'm sleeping.

There's no way to access it, it's lost with everything else from PytoHost. I'd suggest only whitelisting people who've posted in this thread since the new discussion began about bringing Vanilla back, then work from there.

it's okay, I won't be extremely active either, but iirc the last community town took the server about 6-9 months before it was 100% mob-proof, self-sustaining, and had decent protections

Let me know whereabouts this spawntown will be created. If there are no objections I'll get started on an auto-harvest farm after collecting the resources needed, of course. Not sure the form it will take but I'ma need Redstone, starter food/seed stocks, iron, pistons, ect.

Provided no one else had already started plans in their head for making a food farm near spawn.

I don't know how to Vanilla any more either, but I thought we were going off of most recent release versions, unless we went with klaz's idea of a progressing border in which case we had to do snapshots iirc
