The community farm has a cookhouse/food storage/seed stock room in progress, although I haven't been on Vanilla much the last 2-3 days so 'In Progress' means I've hollowed out the room :P

Don't know if it is close enough to spawn to stay loaded 24/7 though.

I think I saw it today, I can put some furnaces in there if you don't mind (unless you are planning to do some machinery there yourself). I think it is close enough for it to be loaded, but we can test that.

Also, does anyone have a full enchanting setup that I could use? :-)

You should get a client side mod that lets you set waypoints.

Sure Furnaces are fine. I'll take as many as you want to get rid of. I'm thinking somewhere between 8-10 Furnaces so yeah, I only have 2 built so far

I'm keeping my eye on Zan's Mini map. If I read it right, it should be pretty close to a stable 1.8 release.

Not sure where to read up on all the drama Lex is talking about, but yeah - doesn't even look like Forge is going to be anywhere close to a 1.8 release for a long time so I'm not sure how that's possible. For what it's worth, as a corollary, I wouldn't bother installing mods without Forge; it's not worth it.

I agree for a bunch of them.

A single mod I'd go ahead and do, personally, the old fashioned way by editing the minecraft <version>.jar and all the hoops you have to jump through there. But that is just me. For a mod pack or more than about 2 mods, yeah, no way I'd do it manually.

On the bright side, I believe he's going to work in the FMP API into forge itself, if I remember an old Forgecraft conversation correctly.

I took a long walk on the modded server to look for some sugar cane. Ran across a place where a volcano and mesa are right next to each other.
Let's see if I can figure out how to post an image here...

Yup, that works good. Maybe I'll remember to turn the UI off first next time.

@UT: The tree farm is functional. Enclosure/ease of access remains to be completed, but you can see it in action.

HOW TO USE:
- Go up ladder at entrance to the top and load bonemeal into double chest (ideally we could always just have this completely stocked and have to reload it like once in a blue moon).
- Come back down and go across to the lever. Pull the lever. You'll hear an annoying CLICKCLICKCLICKCLICK sound if you did it properly.
- Stand at the entry hole between the two chests and, with a sapling out, just start spamming right click.

The machine will dispense bonemeal onto the sapling until it grows 7 blocks high. Pistons then crush the leaves on it, and any saplings fall down into a floor of hoppers that collect the saplings in the chests beside you. Another set of pistons pushes the tree stack out of the center and around the corner. I have a massive storage system in place but need to figure out the best way to allow harvest access.

Anyone is free to stop by and see the damn thing, it took me 3.5 hours to make. >_> We would love any donations of bonemeal, polished Andesite, glass, or signs.

Oh, and mind the area right by the front of Cocktopia... the first maze on the new server is coming! But I only got about halfway done laying down the glass floor so there's just a massive firey death pit over there.

Feel free to stop by my place if you need Sugarcane (assuming you haven't found it already.) I have a decent farm going, though I should really work on automating it at some point.
