Yeah, the city is the way to get the Smeltery. You know which building it spawns in right? It has a smoke-stack kind of structure on top of it.

Here's a list you can look through of mods for different versions.
The dimension mods that I have tested successfully are Twilight Forest, Erebus, Atum. There are several others, and some of the mods we have also generate other dimensions. Mystcraft is another "dimension" mod that allows you to "write" warp books that create another unique dimension based on the defining pages you put into the creation of the book (based on the game Myst).

Anyway, after a lot of "Steve's Factory Manager" assisted grinding I've finished my pneumatic craft setup - I can now start building MFR machines, which should reduce the grind significantly.

Hi hi! Someone is pulling things out of an enderchest with the code white-white-white, which is generally reserved for community use. This isn't really a rule or anything so it's not like you would have known, but another enderchest and a sacred oak sapling have been lost into it because someone has it hooked up to some system that is removing the items. Please don't do that

Change the code or put a diamond on it, and let me know who you are so I can recover the enderchest and sapling from you.

Modded Server Announcement!

After a very unsuspected crash this evening (around 7PM EST), the world has been backed up to this morning (around 7AM EST). We understand that a lot of progress may have been lost in this backup and we apologize sincerely. I'll happily replace any major item someone has lost because of this. Due to crash, I'm asking that everyone

please

remove any and all chunkloaders from any dimension. We do not know how this happened, where it happened, or if it will happen again, and this is the only way to prevent it. I have a solution to fix this, but I will have to talk to ETL before I do it. Thank you all for sticking with us through this.

Modded can't really function properly without them working, this is pretty serious

For now, MFR chunkloaders are being provided along with a power and essence frequency on a tesseract (777)

It would mean adding Immbi's Core and Dimensional Anchors, but there is an alternative to both Chicken Chunks and MFR Loaders. I've no experience with Dimensional Anchors though. They are similar in concept to Chicken Chunks and MFR in that they can be configured to use fuel (like MFR) or not (like Chicken Chunks) and they load squares (like Chicken Chunks can) as a radius rather than circles (like MFR does). Or so says the info I found on the web.

immibis' mods and Dimensional Anchors in particular do not work well.

Klaz can attest - it is a useless mod from a hack of an author.
He copies other mods for a living and we should not support his work.
