I mean, anyone can get lucky and happen to get all of the pieces to something synergistic. But overvaluing cards because you might get other cards that combo with them? No. Please don't.
if Blizz wants to talk about limiting design space for future cards and blah blah blah GOTTA NERF BUZZARD then why the flying FUCK does Gadgetzan Auctioneer exist
I decided it was time to get a more serious ladder deck since most of my decks are either halfway complete or zoolock.
Made aggro hunter with a little weird list cause Im missing a couple cards (notably a 2nd bow)
2 Hunters Mark
2 Undertaker
2 Leper Gnome
2 Webspinner
2 Flare (oh god I flared a mage's iceblock after top decking it when I was for sure going to lose and after he gave me a "sorry" for playing the block, so satisfying)
Absolutely zero regrets on the Venture Co Mercenary slot.
Especially in one game where a rogue coined out a Deathlord on turn 2 to stop my Undertaker. On his 3rd turn, he ran his deathlord into my undertaker to kill both of them and my venture co mercenary came flying out. That was the easiest win ever.

That feeling when you start 7-0 in arena... And then run into three god draws and bow out just like that.
Incidentally, I learned something. I used to build my decks with way too steep a curve. I've started loading up on more efficient 2-3 drops, which has served me well.

Rule #1 of Arena: Curve low. I believe 8-10 things to play on turn 1 or 2 is the standard, yeah?

I really think in arena your emphasis should be on card quality first and curve 2nd. Curve still matters but making sure the 3 drops you get are the good three drops tends to matter more than how many you get (Imo) if you are picking between two shitty cards just take the cheap one as long as it does something is my rule to stop my curve from getting unruly.

I've tended to agree with this, I think contrary to what a lot of streamers have said. I don't think it's super important to have a perfect curve (or even necessarily a good curve) if it means turning down high-quality cards.

Playing awful budget Rogue against Secrets Mage. Drop an SI7 Agent and kill his Mad Scientist with the Battlecry. Mad Scientist fetches Mirror Image and Mirror Image copies my Agent. Would someone explain to me how this make sense in any universe?
That makes sense. I guess I've spent so much time with Magic that I just sort of shortcutted triggers working similarly in my head.
At least the other guy said "Sorry." I think it may have taken him by surprise as well.
